The food was delicious and our waiter was excellent!
This is a great spot in downtown Norfolk! The food was amazing! It would be the perfect place for dates and special occasions. It's within walking distance of all tourist attractions.
We both had the special of the day Ribeye. Was not as tender or flavorful as the ribeye that used to be on the menu. Was a disappointment. Service was excellent.
It’s a very nice restaurant, I would definitely return for spring and summer seasons to get a look at he rooftop and back deck!
Always a great time at Leone’s!!!
I arrived and requested a both. We were a party of two, and were told that they were for larger parties. We were immediately taken to a table upstairs while there we multiple available tables on the first level. The upstairs is not as nice and has an entirely different atmosphere. Furthermore with the exception of one table, everyone seated there were people of color. Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but it didn’t look good. I requested a table on downstairs, which we were given. Also a side room when still tables were available in the main dining area. We were seated at a table set-up for 4 people. Same as a both, which we were denied, and there were a few that were never filled throughout our duration of time there. The food was good, and our waitress was attentive, but I didn’t feel like I was a valued customer.
I had the vegan steak with Brussels and roasted potatoes. This dish had way too much salt and pepper. Not sure if they thought they had to do that because it was vegan but I could not eat the potatoes at all. The people in my party enjoyed their meals very much.
Perfect place to dress us for a night out with friends or date night. Food is awesome and so are the drinks.
Extremely overpriced for basic Italian food, albeit food is good. Service mediocre even though it wasn’t busy. We were seated in back room with glaring lights that I asked be turned down twice to no avail vs the main restaurant which had plenty of tables (we had reservations). Would not return.
Our server explained that they were short-staffed the evening we dined there, but things went smoothly and service was attentive and prompt. Cuisine very good, quality/price good. My one complaint was in the Negroni I ordered. I specifically ordered it classic because I’d noticed on the menu that they had a special “house” version. I was served the house version, sans Campari and over-sweet. It was drinkable but not a Negroni. Normally I’d have returned it but I knew they were short-staffed, and I was under pressure from my co-diners (family) to lighten up on the criticism…so…Overall we were satisfied and would return.
Wonderful Christmas Eve meal. It was everything we were looking for. Fabulous food and top notch service.
The food and the service was excellent. Looking forward to the next dining occasion.
We went for Christmas Eve dinner. The hostess took us to the upstairs seating area even though two of our guests were elderly and had difficulty climbing stairs. We asked if we could turn around and sit downstairs and she had some attitude but ultimately sat us on the lower level by the fountain wall. The waiter we had was very attentive and polite, and the food was magnificent! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend or family member and will return in the future.
Great food and the service was excellent! On of our favorite places in Norfolk.
Food drinks and service were all amazing!
Great food. There was no wind block from outer doors opening, so the cold draft kept hitting us (it was a late December meal). The staff service was not commensurate with the meal cost.
Lexi the manager was rude!! I made an reservation after viewing it on yelp it mentioned it had happy hour from 4-6 so we made a reservation for 6 so we can seat at the bar until than. It was brought to my guess and I attention that there is no happy hour so I was confused and explained how we read it online and Lexi ( which has no managing skills) refused to honor anything even told us we can leave and go to a neighboring restaurant for happy hour (that was strange) she didn’t offer anything not even an apology for her rudeness. Regardless we decided to stay for our dinner the bartender was great and so was our waiter. For the prices they charge They should definitely try to keep customers happy. I have mixed feelings about ever returning
First time here. Everything was nearly perfect. I had the chicken gnocchi special. It was just a bit over seasoned. I was very thirsty the rest of the night. I did have the best Cider tini. It was like drinking an apple pie. I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back. :)
Food was really good! We will definitely go back. We tried the lobster fettuccine, ribeye and the chicken with gnocchi that was a special.
Everything we were expecting. A very good night’s experience
It was unseasonably warm for December 16 so we sat outside. The noise level was much higher inside where there were a lot more people. Food was great, the house Pinot Noir was excellent and service was attentive. We had the pasta pescatore and sausage gnocchi. Both excellent. Their house bread was crusty and chewy at the same time, definitely my kind of bread. The herbed butter was nice to have. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Only quibble is parking. Though they have a lot, it was completely full when we arrived just before our 6:30 reservation. Parked in the Freemason garage and walked to the restaurant. Factor that in if you’re the punctual type.
For the main course, I had the salmon piccata and my husband had the sausage and mushroom gnocchi; they were both delicious. They also have wonderful customer service.
Excellent service! Justin is awesome! A big thank you to the bartender for the delish apple cider martini. The chicken marsala was delicious. My friend had the spaghetti/meatballs & enjoyed it. The salads were a great accompaniment. Will definitely return - and request Justin.
Super meal (chicken pecada). The broschetta, however, was bland. Service was good - attentive, prompt, and friendly. Overall decor is nice; bar is better than nice. There's a dearth, however, of two-seat table and only two at the windows. If they are holding most tables (which they did) for larger parties, you end up with a choice of three tables by a large table for groups, or...two tables in a corner near the waiters' charge-processing station. That's not so good.
Food was great, Service was subpar. I enjoyed my time, however they sat a table right next to us when majority of the restaurant was empty. To recommend Seafood Fettuccine, decent portion sizes too.
Excellent service and delicious food. Gracious in accommodating a change in reservation time and very attentive to and respectful of dietary restrictions. We will definitely be dining at Leone’s again!
I highly recommend this place. The service was outstanding. The seafood pasta dishes are delicious. Great place to go for a special occasion or just a quiet dinner for two.
Food was delicious. Great date night place!
Had a great meal here. The staff was lovely and it was a cozy and romantic atmosphere.
While we have been long-standing patrons of Leone’s, our dining experience last night was over the top…especially for an early Monday evening. My wife and I shared the plentiful 2-person charcuterie; split a Caprese salad; and enjoyed two of the superbly prepared house specials (lamb and rockfish) with our wine. We then topped things off with a very generous serving of pistachio gelato and a cup of freshly brewed decaf.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. I would definitely go again
The staff was very professional & the food was excellent. Would recommend to anyone to make there own judgement.
I loved the atmosphere and the food and service where outstanding I definitely will be going back
The atmosphere was calm, romantic, and welcoming. I originally ordered the Vegan meatballs and spaghetti to find out the meatballs were frozen which I felt was a little low budget for this restaurant. I ordered the Lobster fettuccine which was delicious and my significant other ordered Vegan chopped steak which was also delicious. The service was great overall.
This restaurant is amazing all around. Great food, service and ambiance. I will definitely be coming back.
10/10 everything was perfect. Our server was amazing
Waiter was very attentive and service was quick! Great Jib
Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience. My Chicken Marsala was a little salty with only a couple of slices of mushrooms. All the other meals were outstanding no complaints. The veal chop look amazing and my buddy said, "it was the chop he has ever had". The service by Demarisa ?? was great. I will be back.
Service was excellent - a very warm "Thank you" goes out to our waitress; she sequenced the courses professionally. However, if you reserve a table before 19:00 hrs you might feel "pushed" - as there most probably will be another reservation following yours. This is not uncommon in U.S. restaurants, but quite different from what we experienced throughout our time living in Italy - I'd say it's "quite U.S. American".
I went for the Saltimboca which in Italy is a very thin sliced veal filet, wrapped in sage leaves and served with lemon sauce. My meal was not comparable to the original. But - it was well prepared and tasted very good. My wife went for a pasta dish which was right on the spot.
We will be back soon.
We had a wonderful experience at Leone’s for a Birthday dinner. Our server Christina was knowledgeable of the menu and made wonderful recommendations. We started with drinks and got the Italian Mojito and Leone’s Aperol Spritz, both were great! We did calamari and a Caesar salad for starters. We loved the kick of the cherry peppers in the calamari. For our main entrees we did the Lobster Fettuccini and Clams Linguini, both dishes were excellent. We finished with tiramisu, and it was also very good. We had great service, great food and the atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. We will be returning very soon!
