My boyfriend and I went here Monday evening for our anniversary dinner. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was relaxing (we sat on the rooftop) and our server was kind and went the extra mile to make our night special. I'm definitely coming back here and excited to try more of the food!
It’s a great spot for a date or business meeting . Good food , very classy , I like it .
Excellent food and service!
Very slow service very loud despite not particularly full on a Friday night
Food was good
Leone's is a neighborhood gem. We easily walked from our B&B. Food was delicious. Adequate portions - just right. Seafood fresh and cooked well. Next time we're nearby, we'll be back. Server very accommodating and genuine.
Unfortunately the night we were there there was a large table with several very young noisy children which contributed to the overall noise. Even though, we had a great time and food was good and plentiful. Staff was accommodating and friendly!
Our waitress, whose name slips my mind, was in bad need of training of how to be a server at an upscale establishment. She continually got things wrong, took too long to ask about water refills, and generally was not on top of her game in dealing with us. Her lackadaisical attitude and lack of attention to detail but a damper on an otherwise stellar occasion. Our friends who had never eaten there before were irritated by her, and my wife and I didn’t think she belonged at Leone’s. On the upside, the food and ambiance were outstanding, as usual.
Service was slow which would have been fine given the beautiful rooftop. Unfortunately, my $28 filet was a really poor cut of meat and I barely ate it.
We ate an early dinner (7pm) and were able to get an outdoor/rooftop table. It was really nice up there. The table was too tall for the chairs. We sat really low in relation to the table.
The street noise wasn't bad at all.
The food was served timely and with good sized portions. There was too much seasoning for my taste. Too much garlic, heavy and strong onion in the bruschetta. Service was average. Was unfamiliar with the bar menu... Knew the wines okay.
Overall, it was a nice meal $110 for two wines, an app and three entrees.
Probably won't go back.
Everything was wonderful and everyone was so accommodating! The manager and hostess, especially, ensured that our special occasion was just that - very special! We had a perfect meal and a lovely evening!
We ate at Leone’s a couple of years ago and had a great time. We decided we wanted wanted to have a nice, rare date night at a restaurant where we had great memories from.
I had made the reservation and requested a rooftop table. When we checked in, we were lead to an inside table downstairs. There was no mention of my request. I asked for the rooftop table but was told it was full. Which was completely fine, it was only a request. The hostess then offered my husband and I a seat on the back patio to have a cocktail and appetizer while we waited for a table to open up. About 10 minutes went by with no service. The hostess asked us if we had a drink order taken, we replied no so she got us some water and bread. I guess they don’t serve napkins or knives when delivering the bread and butter.
Still, no waitress. Twice a server came up to see if we had been helped but told they would try to find out who was taking care of us. Finally after about 10 more minutes a server came to take our drink order. And then 2 minutes after that, we did get our rooftop table. My husband found his pasta dish to be over salted. I thought my salmon was just okay.
Overall, it’s a cool spot. Great outdoor ambiance. But if you are sitting inside, take a sweater! I don’t think we’ll be back. $100 for less than average service and food is unfortunate.
Was expecting a lot. Interior great. Puttanesca just ok. The calamata olives overwhelmed the dish. Boar ragu with paperdelle was tasty, not laden with sauce and lots of meat. Lamp chops cooked to perfection medium rare. Server forgot to bring steak knife though; took a while to get one. Loster fettucine excellent: lobster was sweet
I just wished the fried gnocchi was better. Everything else was delicious!
First time, highly recommend to anyone.
Date night with my husband. We sat on the rooftop - it was a great evening. Indecisive about the menu, the waitress steered us toward our choices and made great recommendations. The burrata was delicious.
The lobster pasta was good. The pesto gnocchi was AMAZING. Tiramisu for dessert. It was a great night all around.
The Restaurant has been wonderfully renovated. Check out the roof top area! The Maitre D' could not have been nicer. Food was excellent1
The food was outstanding.
Great atmosphere for drinks with friends.
Good food although not innovative
Very comfortable booth seating and beautiful restaurant. Very good pasta and the meatballs were delicious! They tasted like my Italian grandmothers. Will be back for sure!
One of the best restaurants in the Tidewater area. The food is always outstanding. We will be back with friends and family.
Excellent atmosphere, superb food, and great service
the seafood pasta i order was not good at all, not fresh seafood and it was in the sauce that the seafood was boiled in, for a $26.00 dish i was very disapointed!!
We received our meal before they ever brought the bread and had to ask for it then. The meal may have been ok but was barley warm in the middle
Went for my birthday. Food was delicious, excellent service, and beautiful modern decor. Only complaint was it was really loud, almost so loud we could barely hear each other at the table. Not sure if this was typical for a Friday evening.
Food and service was outstanding. We unfortunately were having dinner at 6:00pm which is happy hour. The noise level was terrible. We know now not to go for dinner during happy hour. We will dine there again.
Very nice meal with my wife. It was our 3 year Anniversary, and the place fit perfectly.
Beautiful! Very tasteful decor, but a little empty looking... modern and urban mixture. Outside looks beautiful, but inside wasn’t my favorite.
The food was very good, but not gluten free options for crackers, and the gluten free noodles are tough.
The Salmon was absolutely wonderful though!
Waitress was very knowledgeable, and friendly.
Leones met my expectations. The young man who was the valet went above and beyond. Pleasant, intuitive, and responsible.
We had the opportunity to dine here before a concert. Loved that they had a pre-show menu. Our waiter was great too. We had the bruschetta which I won’t order again or recommend. The bread was cut too thick for my preference and not grilled. Although the House appetizer was awesome... a red pepper butter served with warm bread. We split the gnocchi with a Sausage and Mushroom Sauce. We were able to swap out the gnocchi for bucatini. I would definitely have that again!
Great experience from the valet service, the capreze salad the wife and I split, our dinners, and finished off with aweaome deserts. The service was awesome and made for a great date night.
Meatballs were AMAZING!
great food before a show, wonderful calamari, salad and fish of the day.
Service very conscious of the time, so not rushed to make it to performance, and great rooftop view!
Excellent food and service. Chris was a great waitress. She was extremely pleasant and saw to every request from our table with a smile. We will be back again!!!
Unfortunately we were there prior to show at the scope. We got there at 5:40 for our reservation with the show starting at 7:30. We ordered our food as soon as we saw our waiter. Needless to say at 645 the waiter apologized for the delay and went ahead and let us pay the bill so as soon as our food came out we would be ready to eat and then leave. At 7:15 we had to find the manager to get our money back because our food still never came.
Not that it was the restaurants fault, but the place got incredibly loud where everyone was yelling over each other. The ambience was lovely and the food was very nice, but it took a bit long to come out, however they were busy so it was relatively understandable. But the server looked flustered and overrun so it didn't seem to be a regular thing, just unfortunate.
Having eaten there three times over the past ten years. this is the first bad meal I've had at Leone's. The pasta (with egg yolk) entree was dry and thick. The little meat pieces in it were full of fat and grizzle. We'd all ordered the same meal and none of us fih=nished it, although we were quite hungry. The waiter, who we tipped well, said he'd have replaced the food if we'd told him prior to getting ready to leave. I only told him how poor the entree was in order to help them in the future. He said a manager would call me, but no one has called. I saw other people eating the same entree, slowly. I wasn't sure theirs was as bad as mine. The waiter thought that since it was a show night, perhaps, the kitchen had rushed the meal. He added that this was no excuse. We liked the atmosphere and the service very much.
Overall not a bad experience but there is room for improvement. Meat sauce on pasta nachos was over salted. Same over salting occurred with elk ragu. The overall flavors, portions were good, just not great.
Server was friendly, but several times during the meal there were long gaps where drinks ran out and server was no where to be found. Also, timing between appetizer and main course was nearly 30 minutes. A bit long considering they were not that busy. I'd be willing to try them again and right it as an off night.
We had an amazing dinner at Leone's from the service to the food it was first class! Highly recommend to anyone looking for the best Italian around.
Varied and well prepared menu with a very extensive wine list. Excellent service. Indoor seating can be a little noisy but they have outdoor seating upstairs for dinner and a back patio for drinks that is quieter.
