From chef, cookbook author and PBS star, Vivian Howard, LENOIR reminds people that the South is a nuanced place with a storied history and disparate terrain that shapes us as well as our food traditions. Here we cook to perpetuate, honor and evolve the cuisine of the rural, agricultural South, and we back it up with hospitality that buys into the idea that food with a story tastes better. Named for Vivian’s home county in eastern North Carolina, LENOIR exalts the pillars of Southern hospitality and leaves people feeling like they are guests in our home rather than patrons in our restaurant.

    Menu descriptions do not match food served. We order Pork and Pastry and the pastry was pasta -- no fat in the dough and not baked plus it was a soup and way over salted. Then on the other side I had the pasta dish that had no seasoning. Much better restaurant choices in Charleston for this price point.

    The restaurant was out of two things that we ordered. It was a Sunday but still we thought they shouldn’t be out if featured items. My husband ordered a smash burger and the bread was totally stale . My dish was ok but not great. I had a chicken dish… I don’t remember much about it. It was very disappointing overall. We would not recommend the place.

    Food and drinks were yummy! Service was sub par. There are Too many things to name that were missed in service. Basically they need to retrain the hostess and wait staff to make sure they know the purpose of their job is to create a pleasant dining experience for the guests. We had to ask multiple times for many things that are standard in being a server or hostess. Not expecting anything great in terms of service. Just wanted a par level. Like basic. The service was very amateur. The cuisine was amazing ! I will order To-go before living thru that again. My 12 year old could have done a better job at the hostess stand and as a server. They were nice people but not experienced or didn’t care or not trained properly.

    Food was beyond what we expected. It's an unpretentious, cute restaurant with very good food. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. We'll be back!

    Excellent food and service. Right in hotel so very convenient after a day of travel. Bartender was very good as was our server !!

    We celebrated our 25th anniversary at Lenoir and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible and exactly what we hoped for. Every dish was amazing and the s’mores dessert was delicious. Our server Callie went above and beyond for us and treated us like we were her only customers. We will definitely be back.
