Wine list is getting better and better every quarter.
The cocktails are now foggy... which is amazing !
The service was impressive and the food just perfect... plates are good looking and very tasty! We took the Boeuf Bourguignon and the Risotto. Both were just a perfect mix!
Michellin star is coming for that place! When you see that Spotted Pig had one for years... this place shall get one since the food and the ambience are well beyond expectations!
The overall experience was wonderful. The service was exceptional and the food was absolutely delicious. The French onion soup was the best I’ve had in a while. And the roasted octopus was incredible.
Amazing dinner with friends. We were 4 adults, had a nice table with obviously lots of French Bistrot touch
The first impressive feeling comes from the waiters.. they were very friendly and pretty attentive to our needs. We loved the Winelist menu! Lena is describing each of the main variety and gives us hint for which flavors we shall look for! You feel like a little sommelier and makes you talk about it with your friends while enjoying your dinner.
We took the Rosemary brie and Duck crostini for Appetizers very easy to share and pretty tasty!
Then we took a Cheese and Meat combo board plus the Tartiflette, the Parisienne, the Boeuf bourguignon and the Risotto... All of them were amazing. The waiter was super attentive, paying attention to make sure we were having good times and always helpful for drinks suggestions.
We ended with the Lava Cake dessert ! It is a definitively a GO ZONE! we also took the dessert wine with it... the mix was delicious.
Will definitively come back and eager to discover the menu again!
Rustic chic French wine bar with cute décor, candlelit, French music right in the Lower East Side. Happy hour till 7pm ($8 selected white, red and rose wines).
I had this place on my “want to go bucket list” and finally made my way down to LES last night. Visited this adorable wine bar for happy hour and stayed well beyond that! A charming neighborhood spot.
Great service, good food and fantastic wine selection. It totally lived up to my expectations.
The dinner menu has a great selection including French classics such as escargot, foie gras, roasted Brie and charcuterie
Loved everything about it! The food, the wine, the atmosphere. Very small restaurant with excellent service and food.
•Tarte Flambee “French Pizza” – Alsacienne: bacon, cream yogurt, onions & nutmeg
•Tarte Flambee “French Pizza” – La Parisienne: Paris ham, gruyere, cherry tomatoes, cream yogurt, onions & nutmeg
•Escargot a la Francaise: butter parsley and garlic sauce
The escargot was probably the best I had in NYC! Both French Pizzas were delicious but La Parisienne was just fantastic! Can’t wait to go back!
Went there for vtines day, didn't realize it was a prixe fix, which is on me for sure because if I had read the menu ahead of time I would have better anticipated my wife and I were going to be part of this vtines day machine they had set up to shuffle us in and shuffle us out to make as much money as possible. I mean, Chicken Breast, Shrimp Scampi, or risotto? Look at the main menu! It looks amazing, and NONE of the entrees they served are on the regular menu, and I hate to say it, but the food was amateur. The chicken was overcooked, the piece of quiche I got was for ants, the beef taretare was the saving grace of the whole meal (flashes of the restaurant I expected), but somehow they managed to both simultaneously overcook and undercook the risotto. Anyone who has tried and failed to make risotto knows what I'm talking about, crunchy mush. I'm sorry, I know I'm all hot and bothered right now but I'm just disappointed. I'm disappointed because I was part of the machine, bought into it, and ended up paying 150 for two meals that I and any competent home could cook make. These prixe fixes should be an opportunity to showcase the restaurant and make me want to come back, not a blatant money grab from poor morons such as myself who don't read text good. But I'm honestly, baffled. The reviews were great, but the food was SO far in the opposite direction, that I'm sitting here ruminating, typing with my debatably chubby thumbs, almost feeling like I have to go back just because nothing adds up... Was this the play all along?
Thank you for your review, sorry than a prix fix menu make you so sad.But our menu was posted on our website from almost a month ago where we mentioned"only this menu will be served this day", and the waitress advise you, when you arrived. At this point you should leave and try to find another restaurant who do not have a prix fix.Our menu was proposed at $75, and you have for that 1 cocktail and amuse Bouche, Appetizer, Entree, and dessert per person. If you can find cheaper in NYC.Pierre
They canceled the reservation on me after texting they had two seatings 5-8, then after 8. I had a 630 reservation and told them we’d be done by 8
Went for the early valentines day seating. best decision.
had the restaurant for ourselves basically, food and staff were a pleasant surprise.
later in the evening the restaurant got busy and crowded but overall great experience.
Wonderful food and the decoration was over the top.
loved it, authentic, very good simple French food. Il vaut le voyage!
Great for party of 8 - they set us up downstairs and gave us a speaker to play our own music. Gracefully accommodated changes to the number of guests (from 11 to 8). Great art & ambiance. We decided to share a bunch of the small plates, which were all very yummy. Our bottle of wine took a while to come out and I would have preferred more check ups on the table. However, the servers were overall very thoughtful and pleasant. Towards the end of the dinner it got a little bit hot/stuffy downstairs, but could be easily fixed with a fan. Highly recommend for groups 8-12.
Not a fancy place but a good vibe and good food. The meatballs and pizza with mushrooms were exceptionally good! The staff was very accomodating and attentive.
The best southern French/Basque country style wine bar in New York City, hands down! The wine quality and choice is out of this world, for a very good price. The food is so delicious that you want to try everything on the menu. The service is the best in town. Lena is top!!!
We had an incredible night at LĒNA. The food was amazing and the service was great. The only negative was the blasting music. It was hard to have a conversation. It just made the dinner more stressful than it needed to be.
Great food and service
The food and service are good. I went there at the French restaurant week to celebrate my new job. The boss said congratulations to me (but if there is a complimentary drink or dessert would be more excellent).
Overall the food especially the appetizers are good. Might come back for small bites or drinks in future.
No frills but great food and atmosphere
Great food and service. Will definitely be back!
Very friendly service and yummy food - better on quality than quantity - larger servings please!
super cute and super friendly. If you do not like cheese abstain! :-)
A very cute spot for dinner. It was a holiday weekend so everything was quieter than usual, but made for a great safe night. The chicken was absolutely delicious and they have a wonderful wine selection.
Went there for Valentines’ day with my wife! And seriously we loved it!
The 75usd fix menu was delicious. And very good price for the quality of food and diversity
We booked in advance and we arrived at 7:30pm the table was ready. 2mins after being seated the waiter came with an amazing welcome cocktail... 2 different ones. One for the ladies one for the boys... very smart idea!
This was a welcome drink.. and we also got a welcome amuse bouche!
Then we had the menu. We had to choose between 3 or 4 plates for Appetizer/Entrees and Dessert! The food was DELICIOUS! Perfect plates. The Mushrooms risotto was INCREDIBLE. My mom is Italian so i am kind of a picky guy in terms of Risotto.. and i can only say Bravissimo!
The waiter were friendly looking carefully after us and proposed us a very good Cote du Rhone from Chapoutier!
We then took a cocktail with our dessert! I recommend the St Tropez! The smoky Rosemary is a great idea! Thank you LENA for this magical night!
Loved my experience here! I have to say the food wasn't the best French food I've had, but it was fairly priced and the wine choices were also excellent considering the quality. Service was also amazing! I think it was a bit quiet considering I was there on a Saturday night until 8:30pm. But overall a great experience!
I found LENA while searching for an intimate venue to host a wedding shower. I dined at LENA a couple of times before my event. Every time was lovely, the food and wine selection is top notch, the environment is elegant industrial chic, the servers are pleasant. My event went perfectly, we had the whole space to ourselves, the bride to be was so thrilled! Everyone loved everything from the food, drinks and fun servers and gallery of art. I highly recommend LENA for a date, evening with friends or to host your next private affair. We had less than 25, they can go up to 40.
Wine selection is excellent! Split a small app, and I ordered a pizza which was yummy and filling. My partner ordered the roast octopus, which was delicious, but not entirely filling. Overall yummy, great service, great environment.
We had dinner for a bachelorette party at Lena, and the staff were extremely accommodating and welcoming! The owner texted us personally to confirm the reservation, and was very flexible. At the restaurant, there is classic French service - not as fast as most American restaurants, but very nice when you're there to enjoy everyone's company and don't want constant interruption from waiters. Definitely recommend for a casual but classy night!
My girlfriends and I went to LĒNA for Valentine’s Day and our night turned out to be more than we wanted. The food was flavorful with beautiful presentation...we will sure be back to try all the things we didn’t get to on the menu.
Service was sincere and authentic. Made us feel as if we were somewhere lost in Europe, not caught in the noise and the bustle of the LES.
Whether LĒNA is for a romantic one on one or a fun get together with old friends, it’s worth the walk or Uber to sit down and get lost in the ambiance and delicious food.
Wonderful ambiance and service and the food is incredible.
Great place for valentines day or a special occasions. Make sure to make reservations as this place requires them.
The food was average. Cocktails tasted synthetic. Very small portions, not a good value for the money. Oh and we were the only ones dining, the restaurant was completely empty!
I came to LĒNA by recommendation of my friends and It was a good experience this place is nice the food is great the service is fantastic, I have an old fashioned mezcal and it was so good and I also have the chance to meet the owner Pierre, which he was the one who made my old fashioned , he’s and amazing human been , great place the staff so lovely and the place so warm , I felt like I was at home , I recommend this place .
Very inventive cuisine, great service and nice atmosphere, gets louder & more crowded later on. One drawback, the owner of the restaurant accused my partner of wanting to use the washroom and questioned him if he were a customer. Not good. But the owner swallowed his pride and did apologize and gave us a free dessert to share. Just a minor mishap but the food was delicious
Nice spot, especially for those who look for French bar, French wine and French food
Cool and relax atmosphere
After work nice place to have fun time à la Française
The servers were all very nice but service was painfully slow. The food was fine, however both flat breads (the bourguignonne and bitteroise) were plagued by SO MUCH PEPPER. The pepper was so heavy handed that it almost rendered both of them inedible. I've lived in NYC for more than 6 years and am accustomed to close quarters, but the restaurant is VERY tightly packed. The removal of a few tables would really be of benefit to allow for a bit more breathing room. However, the atmosphere is so romantic and charming that it nearly makes up for the restaurant's shortcomings. Good date spot.
Service impeccable, carte des vins bien construite avec de belles sélections et meilleur steak tartare de la ville !
The place is really nice and cozy. Wines are good. Food is expensive and nothing special.
I was really looking forward to this restaurant as per all the great reviews, the ambience is lovely the food just mediocre. The onion soup was more like onion broth; unfortunate!
I was here on Saturday night the best experience for me on the french restaurant
The staff was incredible friendly and polite
The list of wine so perfect I choose the chateauneuf du pape my god so delicious with a tartare the best in my life very tasty !
I love the ambiance very cosy ,
I definitely come in back soon
I chose Lena because it is my mother’s name and it was her birthday. The place is very nice, sweet wine bar. But honestly, it is a regular NYC wine bar, many similar places around. The food is good, very small portions and very overpriced. I would go again for a drink perhaps.
What a gem of a place - the owners were great, made us feel like we were enjoying a little slice of Basque country in NYC. They were particular accommodating considering we were with two little ones in a big group which they handled with ease.
Would recommend and will visit again
