Leila by the Bay
Best creme brûlée I’ve ever had in my life! Also the mushroom risotto was perfection 🤩. The ambience and service were also impeccable.
The only downside was that on Valentine’s Day they chose to offer a special menu without prices listed which seemed a bit elitist for this area, but my date and I went with it and found our final bill to be reasonable. I just think it’s not a great idea for families that are on a budget. Not everyone can write a blank check for a meal. Overall though everything was very good!
This is my favorite brunch place.
Good to have a reservation or yo wait a very long time (small place). Food was good and plentiful- noise level a bit high (every table was full) - no rushing. Only complaint was coffee was on the cold side
They have great view, nice brunch menu, bottomless mimosas!
Leila's is a nice place to eat in an area where there aren't too many dining options. On a clear day you get a great view of the bay and the passing Amtrak trains. On this visit, the food was just okay and the service was a bit below the bar- I had to ask twice for virtually anything...like a straw. It won't stop me from going back, especially for breakfast on the weekends. I had one of the best pasta dishes from the daily specials once and am always hoping to order another.
Another birthday celebration at Leila’s, and as usual, everyone was delighted with their meals. Consistently delish and always a fun experience for us! Being regulars, we would love to see some additions/updates to the standard menu! (Hint, Hunt!)
Great local spot that has great happy hour prices!
Food was very good, all four people in our party enjoyed the food and we had a couple of appetizers as well. Service was friendly and helpful with questions regarding the menu. Drinks and food were just a touch slow, but it was a Friday evening around 7pm and the restaurant was quite full, so not a big deal. It was dark outside, but there was a patio overlooking the Bay which would be nice to check out on a summer evening.
2nd visit. Salmon sandwich with side salad. Navarro Pinot Noir 2015...Excellent!
Always the best! Try the shrimp appetizer and if you like spicy, have the spicy prawns with a glass of Navarro gewurztraminer!
The staff treat you like family...in a good way.
Tried after a friend raced about it. Made a reservation, showed up on time, checked in with lots of open tables - greeter didn’t seat me, walked away. When he returned, he seated the party who had come in after me - huh? Finally seated, same guy, asked if I wanted something to drink - yes, please, coffee. Close to 10 minutes later - there it was! Food was good. I’ll give it another try but service was not good and it wasn’t even busy!
We had a reservation but it still took half hour to seat our party. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but 2 of us 5 people were mobility-limited. Once seated though the service was attentive and most of the meals were served reasonably quickly. Unfortunately I was driving so couldn't take advantage of the weekend bottomless Mimosas, obviously a hit with the big crowd. The parking lot though is extremely small and difficult to maneuver so plan on arriving early to find on-street parking; it's a residential area with single-side parking plus adjacent to a popular area park so even that can be tough.
We had the best time for New Years Eve at Leila’s. The rib eye steak was cooked perfectly and the salmon special with risotto was superb...even for a person who said he didn’t like risotto. The service was excellent and the Navarro bottle of wine a perfect complement.
Made reservations for this visit. First time we had no reservations and waited about 45 minutes.
Food was good. Disappointed in where we sat. Asked for a view of the water in my reservation. 2 of my party had a view. 1 had a partial view. I got a view of the wall. This is where we were sat after originally asking to be moved from a table by the door in the corner. There were several empty tables with views we could have been seated at but weren’t even though I asked.
Wait staff seemed rushed with each table. Had to keep asking for coffee. Finally was just given a small carafe I guess to stop asking for refills. Water glasses not refilled as well unless we asked.
Nice converted house to restaurant.
love to go there close to home and food is good we always get good service and the waitress are always very friendly and helpful. You can't beat the view, whenever I have out of town guest visiting, I always bring them here.
We visit Leila by the bay a few times a year. Food is always good. Easy to make reservations, great got larger parties or a couples night out.
A great dinner menu and so is the lunch. We always enjoy meals here
Always the BEST!
The staff is great and the food is consistently delicious!
Sunday night didn’t have much staffing so we didn’t receive attention unless we specifically asked. Food was ok, not exciting. Noise was so loud we had to shout and still couldn’t hear each other.
The menu special for the night was excellent. Always love the views. Overall a warm and inviting restaurant.
Once our reservations were changed to what we originally requested, and aside from the sticky menu, the service was great.
Quality seems to vary here, service person very hospitable- but slow, value for price unequal- alcohol, 2 mixed drinks, over $25 seems high
Nice place for a small family dinner. Everyone enjoyed their dinners.... the chicken Marsala was delicious! The waitress was just attentive enough and our desserts were yummy.
Everything was very good except for the fact that the waiter informed us that there were no coins in the register and he would not be able to give the change. My friend complained and the waiter rounded it up so he could get his 51 cents back.
It was a day when the air quality was bad all over the bay area and the patio was closed unfortunately.
Great neighborhood gem. Tiffany is fabulous
The patio looked great, but we were seated inside. Very loud. Iced tea is awful, but coffee both hot and iced were very good.
Can’t go wrong with this place! This is my 4th time hanging out with co workers, high school classmates and friends visiting from different countries! 👍🏼
Great for a family get together. Love the brunch. Nice restaurant that is near the bay with the trail to walk around.
We had a wonderful meal. The lamb and the short ribs were outstanding. The chef accommodated our request for a different side vegetable. Service was attentive and well-timed without being intrusive. highly recommend.
It was a very nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the bay on the Amtrak trains
We always enjoy going to Leila by the Bay! The outside seating is so nice and now they have big umbrellas that can protect almost the whole patio. Book early for outside seating on a beautiful day!
Great food and service!
Great food and great views from the patio.
A little loud on the patio but that was just some families having fun
Girls night out. My neighbor picked Lelia’s by the Bay. I have been here before but my neighbor had not. We both ordered the chicken Marsala. Wonderful. Generous food. Creamy mashed potatoes. 2 half chicken breast’s. REAL mushrooms in big chunks. Grilled zucchini. The waiter said our night was not busy but i know it can get very busy especially around holidays. Reservations are always a good idea. And do easy using Open Table. Enjoy!
I rediscovered fish and chips at Leila’s after not eating it for years. We just moved into the area and it one of favorite restaurants now. The only thing I do t care for is 2 TV sets always seeming to be in. I find background tv noise and lights to be annoying and not conducive to relaxation and peace.
It was very noisy; we were three people and you had to yell to be heard. Not enjoyable at all. I had Eggs Benedict and the egg was hard not runny at all and the first cup of coffee received was not hot.
This is my favorite "Bay Area" Brunch spot! Mo and the staff are great and they cater to their regular costumers very well! It is not about the popularity, it is about providing an outstanding service to their loyal costumers. Now that I've moved away...my visits back to the "Bay" area will include a stop at Laila's for brunch.
Causal neighborhood resturant with outdoor seating and water views. A nice selection of food to choose from and friendly service.
I was in a special diet, and they were very accommodating! Our waiter was busy, but patient with us and answered all questions and made recommendations. Our friend ordered the wrong drink and when they brought it, he realized it and they happily exchanged it for the one he wanted!
