Leila by the Bay
Brought out of town visitors. It was a rainy day and even so, the view was still lovely. Nice location, ample parking, nice ambiance. We came on a Saturday and there was no wait (we had a reservation for 4p). The place filled up pretty quickly. We started off with the Happy Hour menu - ordered calamari and buffalo wings for starters to share - very tasty. A couple of us ordered the short ribs/mashed potatoes and the third ordered chicken marsala. Very delicious and the servings were huge - we all were stuffed at the end and got a to-go box, absolutely no room for dessert! There were moments when conversations got a little loud and we couldn’t hear each other well; but that just means you talk a little louder and be prepared to repeat yourself a few times, lol. A great first time visit! I’ve always wanted to go there and I will definitely be back again! My guests loved it!
Always the best place to go with girlfriends! Mo and the staff do an excellent job of making everyone feel welcome at Leila’s. My girlfriends call them my “family”. They are!
Food was good as usual. Reservations were easy to make. Your location is good as we live in the area.
Great place! Great food! Chicken Marsala was delicious!
Open Table messed up the reservation. Confirmation for a time when the restaurant wad closed. After all the dust settled, experience was okay.
Mother’s Day celebration
It was great service and even better food! The service here is always outstanding and accommodating!
Breakfast was yummy but the only issue was the food for our table (6 of us) was not delivered together.
We arrived just before the kitchen closed so felt a bit rushed. Some confusion with Open Table over when the lady seating was. Service was good but again felt rushed to leave the table so they could close. I’d go again.
Love this place. I recommend to anyone who is looking for awesome service and yummy food.
I had a delicious gazpacho and my friend had the seafood linguini. Both were delicious. The food and service were exemplary. It’s always special to be greeted by Mo and Nancy and all the staff. Their smiles, the view, the excellent food, and good wine make this the best place in the Bay Area.
Not what we expected from the online photos. The food was good and the service attentive. Atmosphere is very casual.
My wife and I go here often, mostly when friends come into town. Perfect setting to show off where we live and how wonderful the bay area is. Add in great service and wonderful service, makes Leila's a no brainier.
This place looks like it was a house turned into a restaurant. The interior is small but quaint, and there is a small patio deck to eat outdoors. I recommend making reservations, otherwise there is a wait. This place can accommodate a party of 8. We came here for brunch, and they have all the basics - pancakes, French toast, omelettes, eggs benedict, etc., and everything was really good. It's a great place to go if you live in the general area, but it's not a place to go out of your way for, which is why I give it 4 stars overall.
Beautiful little place-great views of the bay! It was a pretty nite-little chilly but sat on the deck and were very comfy. They have a good happy hour and a menu with lots of options. We had fried calamari for appetizer and pastas. Very happy with the place and will be back
Service was great-the food, be sure to have enough food so that you don’t run out.
I was looking forward to my lamb burger, when our server announced to me that you had sold out-
My margarita was too sweet and strong, I know it was from your cocktail hour menu, but it shouldn’t be different from your regular menu- the beer was swerved warm, it be cold-if not the beer being cold, the glass should be cold-
Everything was wonderful except the restaurant was very noise and the women's bathroom toilet was not working on Easter.
I'm not sure I would recommend after how my friends and I were treated. We got why we were asked to go around back to enter the restaurant. We had a small dog with us. However when we got to the back, we were greeted with stares from the host. She watched us stand for awhile and finally told us we couldn't be in the back. I had to explain that another staff told us to come to the back. She wasn't very friendly during our entire encounter. I'm willing to give them another try bc of the scenery but I won't recommend to a friend until they redeem their customer service.
Celebrating the first beautiful Friday after a series of rainy weekends. We wanted outdoor dining with a sunset view and Leila’s didn’t disappoint. We had the mussels appetizer, spicy and delicious and the blackened salmon and chicken Marsala for the entrees. Both were good and big enough portions that we had to go boxes to enjoy the next day. The service was excellent. It was worth the drive over the bridge. We’ll go back for sure!
Love this place!!
Always a great meal, everything prepared very well with attention to detail. Their salads are also just not to be missed. Give it a try, a tucked away little jewel.
Always great service, relaxed atmosphere, and overall great experience. Food is amazing as always!!
Good food. Decently priced. It’s a nice place to go now that Tina’s is not open for dinner. Their Rib eye is so thin, I imagine it’s impossible to cook one med-rare and get grill marks. Shrimp and pasta was outstanding. Calamari as well. We’ll keep coming back.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant and this is the first time that I wasn’t happy with the service specially I brought my co-workers and bragging how great this place, really disappointed.
Food and drinks were really good. Staff was very nice. It was difficult to hear our convesation.
Had viewed the restaurant on yelp. Was looking forward to ordering eggplant parm. But was told it was only available at lunchtime & I’d have to order something else. Very disappointing. Will likely not be back.
They have outdoor & indoor seating. I would have preferred to sit outside on this beautiful evening except my friend preferred to sit inside. Thankfully, I had a perfect view of the bay & the sunset throughout my meal.
First time there and I really enjoyed it will definitely be back
Ribeye was amazing !!!!
Very good food but it is so loud at Leila’s that it is uncomfortable and difficult to visit while there. Such a shame because the food is good and reasonably priced.
Great local find!
Best creme brûlée I’ve ever had in my life! Also the mushroom risotto was perfection 🤩. The ambience and service were also impeccable.
The only downside was that on Valentine’s Day they chose to offer a special menu without prices listed which seemed a bit elitist for this area, but my date and I went with it and found our final bill to be reasonable. I just think it’s not a great idea for families that are on a budget. Not everyone can write a blank check for a meal. Overall though everything was very good!
This is my favorite brunch place.
Good to have a reservation or yo wait a very long time (small place). Food was good and plentiful- noise level a bit high (every table was full) - no rushing. Only complaint was coffee was on the cold side
They have great view, nice brunch menu, bottomless mimosas!
Leila's is a nice place to eat in an area where there aren't too many dining options. On a clear day you get a great view of the bay and the passing Amtrak trains. On this visit, the food was just okay and the service was a bit below the bar- I had to ask twice for virtually anything...like a straw. It won't stop me from going back, especially for breakfast on the weekends. I had one of the best pasta dishes from the daily specials once and am always hoping to order another.
Another birthday celebration at Leila’s, and as usual, everyone was delighted with their meals. Consistently delish and always a fun experience for us! Being regulars, we would love to see some additions/updates to the standard menu! (Hint, Hunt!)
Great local spot that has great happy hour prices!
Food was very good, all four people in our party enjoyed the food and we had a couple of appetizers as well. Service was friendly and helpful with questions regarding the menu. Drinks and food were just a touch slow, but it was a Friday evening around 7pm and the restaurant was quite full, so not a big deal. It was dark outside, but there was a patio overlooking the Bay which would be nice to check out on a summer evening.
2nd visit. Salmon sandwich with side salad. Navarro Pinot Noir 2015...Excellent!
