The food was just okay nothing special. My boudin balls were cold. The service from kitchen was extremely slow. I waited almost 20 minutes just for apps in the afternoon just for my food to be mediocre . My server was very kind and the staff was friendly. The decor is also nice. I would come back but the slow service i received is making me reconsider
Restaurant wasn’t open and didn’t bother to take themselves off of opentable.

Overall our experience was pretty good. Food was great and atmosphere was very nice. Unfortunately our waitress was distracted with a noisy 10 top that all decided they wanted separate checks leaving her other tables someone neglected while she dealt with them. I dont blame the waitress, just what happened. But again, overall a great meal and will go back.
We went on Mardi Gras day, but they did a pretty solid job for being so busy. Definitely worth a dinner
Very good redfish and gumbo soup. Very good choice in the French Quarter.....Quiet!
Our server was attentive. The oysters were amazing but dinner fell a little short.
Experience was great.... My daughter really enjoyed herself
Service was excellent. The choices from Happy Hour menu were my favorite of our 4 dishes, chicken wings and BBQ oysters. Both delicious and great price at $12 for 8 pieces during happy hour (3-6pm). We selected Gumbo and the smothered fries from regular menu. Yes on the Gumbo and would pass on the fries.
Very tasty food
Only two people, we made a reservation for a table. We were seated at a table, but we were not seated with a warm feeling. The restaurant was very noisy, but not completely intolerable.
However, after being seated for 20 minutes and never had any wait staff come to our table we decided to find another restaurant. They were not that busy on a Wednesday night that there was any reason to not get waited on.......
The food is always excellent here, but the service at the entrance bar and dining area is ALWAYS slow. We had a reservation for 6:00pm and were there on time. We waited in the oyster bar for 25 minutes without ever being asked for a drink order. Even with our reservation on OpenTable, we could not be seated in the dining area. We settled for a booth in another bar area. Bar service there was excellent and food was quick and delicious. Not sure what the problem is.
Staff was so friendly and food was delicious. Great experience.
The redfish was very overcooked. Apps, drinks, and sides were good. Main course was not.
It was our first time visiting (Sugar Bowl attendees), and it was a great experience. The salmon, the pecan-crusted trout and the fried seafood platter were all wonderful. We will definitely visit again if we're in the area.
Throughly enjoyed our waitress and the food was delicious.
Our waitress knew nothing about the menu. Complained every time she came to the table complaining about working since 8 am. Several requests questions were ignored. So much potential in this location, but it fell way short of what I expected.
Great food and dessert!
Had a nice time even though it was a last minute reservation. The fresh oysters were amazing, the tackle box special more than enough for two people. Nice cocktails as well!
Pretty good food. This restaurant capitalized on being one of the very few restaurants open on Christmas Day in New Orleans. It probably did nonstop business on this date which probably contributed to some lapses in service. But the servers were courteous and food was pretty good.
We arrived on time and were promptly taken to a table which had not been cleaned or prepared. Eventually a server took our beverage orders and after at least 15 minutes, she returned and asked if we needed anything!! I told her we were still waiting on our drinks...she left and after watching her do nothing for another 10 minutes or so, except wander around the bar area, I asked the two young couples at an adjacent table if they were experiencing the same problem. They were and because we had not received anything, we left. Happily another restaurant a few blocks away seated us without a reservation and we had a wonderful meal.
Worst service in a restaurant I have had in years and years. Surly maitre d', a waitress who disappeared, all of the food came out at once, right after the appetizers (which appeared before the silverware and plates) . The drinks came out after all the food.
Tacklebox has the best raw oysters even over Acme, but they arrived after oour main dish. The beignets were also good. Inside the building was really hot. I'm not sure if they didn't change the AC because of the weather change. It wasn't necessary to reserve a table. The waitresses were mostly pretty distracted or almost bothered by questions or requests. It was like being blown off or barely acknowledged, even though it wasn't packed. The food was still good.
The charbroiled oysters were delicious. The salad was excellent with a wonderful salad dressing.
I’ve eaten at Tacklebox five times. Everything, every time has been good. Great service, great food, great value.
They were very accommodating as we needed to get in/out within 1 hour. Good waitstaff.
Best thing about this dining experience was our very sweet waitress. Food was average. Odd service experience at times, like having to ask for small plates for shared appetizers and desserts. Too many fantastic restaurants in NOLA to have an average meal.
The staff was very friendly and efficient. The manager went over and beyond to make sure we had a great meal. my husband is gluten free and the manager was very very conscientious and making sure that his meal was completely gluten-free. Very much appreciated his attention to detail.
Amazing food!! Large portions.
Great ambiance and outstandingly fresh food. We enjoyed our visit here and will return next time we are in the area. Thank you for the memorable service and meal!
Our server was awesome. The crawfish and mushroom pasta was good, but not terrific. The trout was perfect. We had a really good experience and we will both recommend and return.
First visit to Tacklebox. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere great. They manager (I believe he was Mgr) came over and was very friendly. But the wait staff at bar and restaurant just weren’t very friendly. Sort of left us cold.
Disappointed in that as everything else was wonderful.
We had coupons as Titanium Marriott members for this restaurant. We ordered Chicken with Waffles at $22 each. The chicken tenders were tasteless and were worse than McDonald's ones. The waffles had bacon bits mixed in them. This was a strange combination to say the least and pretty expensive.
We chose this restaurant because we were exhausted after a full day of walking all through the French Quarter, and this place was a block away from our hotel. I wish we had just Uber-ed to a better choice. This is a typical hotel restaurant, not a place to waste time and money in when you're in one of the greatest culinary destinations in the country.
The waitress who waited on me was great. She was so kind after the 'cook', not chef, literally could not cook a burger. I asked for a burger cooked medium, I got a rare burger with low quality beef. The center of the raw beef was brown. The second time, the 'cook' burned the burger. I coughed due to the smoke from the caked on char. The casual dressed manager (?) asked me about the burger as if he couldn't see and smell the burnt burger. I took the bun off to not only show how burnt the burger was and to show him it was overcooked in the middle (of course). Then there was another waitress who forgot to confirm my reservation after I asked her four times to confirm my reservation. If you want a GREAT burger go to BARCADIA BAR GRILL at Tchoupitoulas and Lafayette. On separate two days, I had two perfectly cooked medium burgers with delicious fries and a great friendly staff.
We ate at TackleBox prior to the Rolling Stones concert and it worked out perfectly. It was conveniently located near the Superdome, easy walking distance to Central Business District hotels, and the service was relatively quick considering the early happy hour crowd. We shared an appetizer and drinks and enjoyed both. We would definitely go back.
Went to lunch with the office staff, all of us born and raised in New Orleans. Not sure who the owners are... but they cannot be from here. The food, staff and service was pitiful, and believe me we know New Orleans food and restaurants !!! Wish I could say maybe it was due to being busy but there were maybe two other tables with customers, and it was FRIDAY at Noon!
Great waitress. Yummy breakfasts .. good drinks
Great food. Solid. Good service.
Had fun with happy hour and food was great! Service lacking and not a friendly greeting.
