I was a bit baffled by this restaurant. Maybe we just went on the wrong night. 7:30 and it was empty. Service was friendly. Menu was limited. Oysters were good. Food was salty. Wine was warm. Too many other choices in the Quarter to go there again.

We were getting in to the city late and decided just to eat dinner in our hotel so we wouldn’t have to find anything. Luckily for us, we picked the right hotel! I of course got the sampler of three different traditional NOLA items: red beans and rice; gumbo; and jambalaya. Perfect way to start our vacation. A few days later we just popped down to the bar lounge for a final beer and dessert and pleasant conversation with the bartender.

The server was somewhat inattentive. The food was not good. The gumbo had shells they we keep chewing on. The meat pie was not good at all.

The waitress should’ve checked if we needed more water. Tipping is about a service, gave her 20% although against it.

We ordered char-broiled oysters and they were o.k., nothing special. We had to ask for more bread to go along with them. We ordered the Red fish, and it was average to better than average. What was best of all was the crawfish cornbread; excellent taste and consistency. The chocolate bourbon pie was for dessert, it was o.k. It took FOREVER to get the bill. We decided we wouldn't go back.

Our server, K.K., made our experience fantastic! She had an amazing knowledge of the menu, as demonstrated by her ability to ask us questions and offer alternatives that helped us to select the perfect meal for our evening. She was attentive and friendly, and she anticipated all of our needs. We truly had a great time. Please make sure to ask for K.K. when you dine: you'll be glad you did.

We ordered the special three course meal. Redfish w/ asparagus was unbelievable. Appetizer we ordered the Tomato salad that was very fresh. Then for dessert we had the bread pudding w/ a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go on top. That was to die for. Great time!

Our waitress was great and the food wasn’t bad. I recommend this place especially if you’re staying at the Marriot.
