   I give the restaurant 1 star because my party was never able to park. We made a reservation for 12:30pm on a Friday and when we arrived, there was no parking. People were double parked in the entrance driveway and in the grass partially blocking Shore Dr. I tried to call the restaurant to let them know about the situation and received the automated machine which asked that I not leave a message. While I’m sure the food is great and the team is short staffed, I would think they would turn off customers’ ability to make reservations if parking has been a proven problem in the past. I hope to give the restaurant another try in the future.

   The best little cafe in Virginia Beach. The staff are especially friendly and competent. I always get the ham biscuit, soup and salads(s). You get potato salad and a green salad plus I had a slice of cantaloupe also. The Lizard is my go to place whenever I'm in the mood for fantastic food, atmosphere and great wait staff.

   Slow awkward service....from the moment we walked in for our weeks-in-advance reservation. Arrived early for our reservation only to stand there unacknowledged for over 5 minutes. Once we were greeted we were told we'd have to wait a "few" minutes while she got an outside table ready for us. (they were only half capacity at this time, so no excuse for the long wait of not being acknowledged). Over 10 minutes passed before the hostess returned. She said she had to put the geese away first. So here we are, in this restaurant for over 15 minutes before actually being sat. No one approached are table for another 10 minutes to inquire about us, or to take a drink order, etc. Our server finally appeared however for the next hour we barely saw her, she forget to tell us about missing food items, and forgot to bring a second round of drinks we ordered. It's so frustrating to be ready to order yet no one comes to take the order. And when they finally do they say: "oops sorry we ran out of that!" There were at least half a dozen dishes and/or items there were "out of" which forces a guest to order something they really don't want. It took a very long time for the dishes to arrive, had to ask for napkins twice but our server forgot, no silverware was placed on the table until we asked our food runner for them, we were not checked on or asked how everything is by anyone. We asked for extra toasted bread for our sandwiches--a request that was ignored either by our server or by the kitchen, and the dishes were served with barely toasted soggy bread. We were charged for (3) hash brown side plates, but yet we only received a teeny-tiny ramekin of roasted potatoes instead. Very disappointing all around. This place has many loyal customers due to its locale and casual country ambience but do be warned: the food is always a hit or miss, and the service is always slow. The owner's are simply not interested in truly offering an exceptional experience.

    Usually this is a great place for brunch. On this occasion, service was terrible and my food was cold. The waitress made a big deal about how hard it is to substitute scrambled for poached eggs, and yet they were literally barely room temperature. Next time I won’t go on a Sunday.

    I was disappointed that you would not honor my $50 gift certificate. I didn't realize it had an expiration date of 12/21/22, but nevertheless you gained $50 when my friend purchased it and then I still had to pay $47. Most places would have made an exception.

    Lunch on a rainy Friday was great! We were seated a little early despite a good-sized crowd, and enjoyed specialty cocktails before lunch. The crab quiche and tomato soup with fish and crab were excellent, and the vibe is low-key and fun. The wait staff is excellent, friendly and efficient. Parking is tight here, but at busy times they have someone directing, so it is not the nightmare it could be. One of our favorites on Shore Drive!

    Lunch. Opens at 11 a.m. for lunch. Get there between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. MAKE Reservations. Enjoy the patio. A MUST eat location if in the area. Menu awesome from child to adult. Staff is really terrific. ENJOY!

    Leaping Lizard is one of the best restaurants in Virginia Beach. We eat there a lot but not often enough that I'm willing to get anything but my usual sweet potato ham biscuit, soup and salad. YUMMMMMM

    The restaurant was full, had great music on, and you could still hear the people you were sitting with. The decor is fabulous. I loved all the different tables, the decorations. The food was amazing. You might have to wait a bit to park but even that was managed so well. I was so impressed with the food, the service and how they manage so many people with what's seems like ease. I'm sure back of house has to be a frenzy with how busy it is but you would never know it. How they can have a full restaurant inside, porch, and outside, music, and still have it feel like you're a sitting at a friend's dining room I do not know but wow. Everything about his place was impressive. Phenomenal food, impeccable service.
