Joya de la zona
Nestled in the heart of the Latin Quarter, the Reminet has been a chic institution in the 5th arrondissement for almost thirty years. A well-known meeting place for local gourmets and a demanding foreign clientele. The restaurant combines the balance of sophisticated French cuisine with the charm of a now-renewed decor. Sheltered in a listed building, with a view of Notre-Dame and the Île Saint-Louis, the tone is set: a glass wine cellar covering an entire wall, old-fashioned decoration of zinc and gilding, marquetry and red velvet, antique chandeliers and numerous paintings or mirrors hanging on the walls, the Reminet is a comfortable and cozy little gem.
In the end, a warm and friendly restaurant with 45 seats where tasty lunches and candlelit dinners in the cellar will be moments of sharing and unique flavors. The vaulted cellar can also accommodate seminars or celebrations.

I reserved Le Reminet for my romantic birthday dinner with my wife, based in the location, menu, and size of the restaurant, and the reviews, of course, and were not disappointed. Nestled just far enough from the main road by the Seine, almost directly across the river from Notre Dame (not in view) in Quartier Latin, 5th Arr., Le Reminet is a small restaurant with just one wonderful host. With the chef himself bring out food in addition to the host, the vibe was definitely “family”.
In addition to ordering individually from the menu, we could opt for appetizer+main course + dessert prix fixe and pay a bit less. The menu is short but delicious, about five items for each group. Everything we ate was delicious and beautifully presented.
The service and atmosphere were delightful, efficient, and we did not feel rushed, or ignored at any time. It was a hot day in Paris but with a full open front, inside did not feel hot.
Loved every course and every moment.

Lovely, little French restaurant on the left bank. Le Reminet is small, but lively. Starters included a cool gazpacho and a “perfect” egg with spinach and gruyere. Main course was a beautifully cooked perch with charred cauliflower. There’s a nice wine list and lovely desserts.

A last minute surprise find near the Seine on a Sunday evening. The people were very friendly and the food was creative and delicious as only a French kitchen can achieve! We’d come again if it wasn’t closed on Tuesday evening.
