This was an amazing meal. Casual yet sophisticated this environment was warm and comfortable. The service was attentive and our waiter knowledgeable. The food, though, was beyond delicious. You need to check this out!

This is quite a neighborhood gem. The waiters were attentive, they worked really hard and the chef did a beautiful job adjusting the tasting menu to accommodate for on guest who was lactose intolerant. Kudos to the chef! Their pairings with the white wines were spot on, but their red wine pairings were mediocre. One red smelled like band aid and barnyard and that experience was a bit hard to overcome and put a bit of a damper on the evening. I’d go back for their cuisine, but I’d bring my own wine.

Chris was an excellent low-key, but highly knowledgeable and patient. That was the best part, but our dinner was excellent as well. For a nonalcoholic treat, try the fantastic homemade kombucha. Omg it was so good! Our scallops and pork belly starter was a knockout, an incredible pairing of taste. Two of us had a Moroccan inspired monkfish which was well balanced and expertly cooked. The ravioli was delicious, and even my very difficult mother with many food allergies was very happy with her burger. Some inventive desserts completed our meal. We definitely recommend!

We enjoyed the chef’s selection of five courses. Every single one was outstanding. The limited availability of only three pre-mixed cocktails was the only downside to an incredible evening.

We went to Le Pigeon for the first time on what for most people was a typical Thursday night. It was our anniversary, and we went anticipating a special meal. It turned out to be one the most extraordinary dining experiences either of us have had. We both realized the hamachi crudo was the most flavourful and refined dish we've eaten in Portland.

Small restaurant that seats about 30. You can order from the menu or there is a 5 & 7 course tasting menu. Wine pairings are offered as well. Chose tasting menu & enjoyed every dish. The waiters were attentive & very knowledgeable about the wine pairings. Very enjoyable night & I highly recommend Le Pigeon!

Our group of 4 enjoyed the seven course tasting menu featuring foie, truffles, duck, squab and a foie profiterole dessert that was to die for. A couple of the dishes were suprisingly spicey, but overall everything was excellent. Our server was genuine and attentive but anyone who stopped by our table was equally gracious and informative. There is something for everyone on the wine list. Be advised that they only offer 3 cocktails, there are no “full bar” selections. That said, we opted for the house martini and it was outstanding. Seating is tight and so is parking so plan accordingly. Good tasting menus are a rarity in PDX but this one is a must do.

Spectacular, innovative, creative food, ridiculous wine list. The 5-course chef’s tasting menu was exquisite, every wine paired beautifully with the most delectable concoctions ever imagined. Foie gras profiteroles? Really? Wow.

I absolutely love this place! The food is delicious, wine/beer selection is great, and the service is outstanding! Great for couples, small gatherings, special dates or just casual dessert pop in. Highly recommended 💜

Came for anniversary dinner. 1st time. We are nowhere close to foodies so a restaurant like Le Pigeon is a bit of an adventure for us. We had a number of questions not knowing what things were on the menu and the waiter was very nice about it. Good beer and wine selection. Wife had the ramen to start, I had the butter lettuce salad. Both were amazing in taste in presentation. For dinner, wife had chicken and I had fish special of black cod. Again, the tastes were amazing how they mixed together different elements to create a delicious unique taste. Both were cooked perfectly. Highly recommend even if your food tastes aren't usually venturesome.

Our waiter, Kevin, did everything he could to accommodate our needs. One in our party was not feeling up to par and he managed to help us have a great dining experience with food that was delicious, even though not quite as creative as it might be had we not had any stomach issues. Such a delightful experience. We would definitely go again!

We made reservations well in advance and let them know that we had a vegetarian and vegan in our party and wanted to do the tasting menu. The vegan and vegetarian meals were amazing!

Best meal I’ve had all year. Service was excellent—attentive, knowledgeable and accommodating without being overbearing. The food is thoughtful and delicious with great care being taken to balance all the big flavor personalities they deliver on each plate. Each dish was a knockout. Thanks to the entire Le Pigeon team for a truly memorable evening.

The tasting menu was delicious and the wine pairings were thoughtful and added to each dish. The service was great and we left with our stomachs full and a full dining itinerary for the rest of our stay in PDX.

We’ve come back to Le Pigeon several times hoping to rediscover some culinary magic, but it’s just not there. The pork and porcini churros were a nice surprise, but too many of the other dishes were just too complex and heavy- sometimes a simple touch is best.

This place was delightful. My husband and I went here on a special adult only date night out. We had a wonderful appetizer and two wonderful dinners. The flavor profile and presentation of the meals were absolutely spectacular. The only mild comment that can be an individualized perspective is that my husband and I reserved our seating knowing that it would be busy. What I didn’t know is that the reserved seating put us at a table instead up up at the bar, which is where you can view the chefs prepare your meals. If I would’ve had the insight as to how the restaurant was set up or what the options were I would’ve gladly sat at the bar so that I could observe and interact with the chefs. That would be my only critique is to maybe have the preference of seating asked to the people making reservations. Thank you for a beautiful evening.

Everyone should try this restaurant a couple of times given its notoriety. As a frequent business diner this is just an ok choice in comparison to its rivals. The food was surprisingly just ok this time. Highly creative but my king salmon was almost forgotten under the deluge of other ingredients. Overall, it was fine but does not stand out. And, just accept that it will be noisy and you will sit elbow to elbow with other people.

Unprecedented choices of wine, by the glass, demi-bottle to full bottle. If you are wine-lover, worth to visit just for this!! We really enjoyed to choose from the list. In terms of food, they are so creative - personally a bit too much, too many twists. But it's good. People were impeccable and pleasant to talk with.

Friendly, amicable service. Responsive, too. Tender, delicately prepared halibut with an unusual sauce with a hint of spice. Fresh, perfectly prepared veggies. Fantastic cider. Amazing Foie Gras Profiterols. Beautiful experience.

Several "locals" have been telling us about Le Pigeon for some time. We decided to splurge for our anniversary but were terribly disappointed. The woman who met us at the door didn't smile or welcome us; just handed us menus & moved a table so we could squeeze into a small (but nice) corner by the window. Our waiter was VERY friendly, and helpful explaining the menu & tending to us like the pro he is. But from there, our experience went D-O-W-N. We enjoy dining out & have had some great experiences in trying new foodie spots. But most of the menu was far to avant garde for us to relish. We tried the beets & trout (didn't realize the fish was raw which put my husband off entirely). Though it tasted OK, it wasn't "that good." The Alaskan halibut dish was tasty but didn't stay "warm enough" throughout the meal. Our desserts, though interesting didn't impress our palates at all. The 'popcorn' twist in my dessert was interesting but if one leaves a restaurant still "craving something to eat" and ends up at a coffee shop just to 'recover' you know it's NOT A MATCH for you. The price point didn't measure up to our experience.

We had an amazing time and were so thankful that the chef made a special gluten free iteration of the foie appetizer for my sister without us even asking him to. The space, the service, the food, the wine - everything was so fun and unique! Came from Atlanta so I can’t visit often but will come back any time I’m in town!
