Ford and service were wonderful. Always a great dining experience.
If not the manager who worked on September 18th in the eve and saved the night, I would ve left 2 stars.
The girls who take reservations , hosts are COMPLETELY useless and Incompetent. I called multiple times to adjust reservation and they messed it up. First, they lied they dont have square table and thats there is only one round table for bigger parties. Second of all, they didnt make changes in the the system and when we arrived they didnt know how many of us are actually came for dinner. I wouldnt care much if it wasnt my moms birthday. Anyways, the manager took care of the problem but it did ruin my mood since i was the one who was organizing it.
The food was good , especially the curry chicken and drinks but they are overbooked, short of staff and we had to ask for little things many times.
Great as always
I cannot believe my favorite appetizer beef wrapped rice noodles and the reason I go to le colonial has been taken off the menu. First they change the presentation of it( for the worse) and now it’s off the menu. Very disappointed.
The best as always! I love this place! Service, food, atmosphere.. everything is great!
Everything was amazing! The food, service, and restaurant look and feel
Plates are cleared too quickly
Food comes out too quickly, and back to back
Spoils the experience
Service was excellent. Ambience was very nice. Food was good, but some plates were over-priced.
Fantastic experience! The food was delicious; we had a great experince.
Amazing restaurant, great environment, delicious food. I highly recommend trying their mocktails.
Rolls not fried enough, coconut macaroon very hard. Overall good quality Asian flavors and wine selection. Beautiful place.
Everything is always fantastic!
A special day of wedding dress shopping was made even better with a lovely lunch. From the cocktails all the way to the Brussels sprouts, each item was better than the last.
Fabulous service . Food and wine were delicious!
Absolutely delicious food and a very cool vibe. I remember Le Colonial from my days in NYC in the early 2000’s and this brought me right back. Our favorites were the monkfish and the caramelized beef paired with garlic noodles. It was so good, we almost went back for dinner again. Alas, we will have to wait until we visit Chicago again. Le Colonial will be be tops on our list.
Phenomenal food, service and ambiance. Love love love this place!
Always a great place to eat. Had never been disappointed with the food.
We made reservations because we heard Le Colonial was a nice place to eat. We were celebrating our 16th Anniversary. Once we were seated our waiter came by we ordered wine and informed him that we would be doing appetizers and shareable plate. When the waiter brought our wine we asked if they could space out the appetizers as this would be our meal. He said the 3 appetizers would come out all at once and the shareable after. We were seated at a table for two and barely had enough room for the plates. It was not a relaxed atmosphere, from start to finish was approximately 15-20 minutes. The waiter did not come back to the table, never asked how the food was or if we wanted another glass of wine. Which we wanted to order another appetizer and two more glasses of wine. They cleared the table including our wine glasses, at this point I said lets go. We flagged down the waiter and got the check and left. When leaving the hostesses just looked at us not even a have nice evening etc. We were so extremely disappointed.
We normally love this restaurant and were very excited to try the new location. The venue is beautiful! The food, on the other hand, left us all lackluster. We were in agreement that something is missing from the usual food quality. We had seven different food items and felt they were all fine, but not worth coming back for. This made us really sad, since we have LOVED their food in the past.
Everything was great..
The duck was very rubbery and bland for the price. The shrimp on sugar cane was a little rubbery too. Cool atmosphere but for the price would not go back anytime soon.
This is our second time dining at Le Colonial and we were NOT disappointed! The food, beverages, atmosphere and service were all very much enjoyed. The location is lovely - especially in summer when the second floor windows are open out to the street offering a unique view. We suggest there is room for some small improvements: please include freshly baked bread and butter for the tables; this is very French and you are missing an important component of the dining experience by leaving this out. Even some Banh Mi would be better than nothing at all. Also, it seemed inappropriate to us to require simple rice be purchased as a side "to share." Really? This item is such a low cost to ownership, why not provide it in a bowl to share along with the main dishes as appropriate. Overall - truly a splendid experience!
Beautiful ambiance and excellent food!
Celebrated a family birthday here. Always one of our favorite restaurants. The food, cocktails, drinks and decor are amazing. You really feel transported to a another place and time. Service is always good...friendly and professional.
Beautiful experience. Our waitress was kind and competent. The food and cocktails were exceptional.
Noisy group on the porch--not the restaurant's fault.
Delicious food. We had a really nice table next to the window. Jesus, our server, did a really good job. Very pleasant.
Our server was extremely rude and inattentive. Thank goodness that the man who gave out water was nice and helpful. Saw our server standing around talking instead of coming to our table when we only wanted another bottle of wine.
Server made rude comments to the table. All other staff was lovely and the food was delicious
My favorite restaurant in chicago
Great food as usual. Tried a new entree and it was a perfect amount of spice.
Le Colonial combines delicious food with incredible service. It is our favorite restaurant in all of Chicago. My wife is a chef, so she tends to be a bit on the critical side, but can only find wonderful things about this culinary treasure!
My only complain is that food was served too fast…
Everything about this place is wonderful! The food is very, very good. And so unique. It’s easily a top 5 restaurant for me, and should be for anyone visiting Chicago.
Great anniversary dinner. Our favorite meal
Great ambiance in the middle of the most busiest shopping area.
Always a great experience
The appetizers were delicious, as was the spicy chicken stir fry dish I had for my main course. It was the first time I have been to their new location, I like it even better than the old place. Beautiful venue to enjoy a lovely dinner. I love the photos on the walls as well. Still my favorite restaurant in Chicago.
Enjoy everything about Le Colonial. We have been there many times for dinner. This was our first excursion for lunch. I thought the lunch pricing for an appetizer, a small plate and a couple of glasses of wine to be very high.
