It was absolutely delicious and a wonderful service experience from start to finish! Highly recommend and would definitely go again. Not an inexpensive meal but less expensive than we were expecting.

Le Colonial is a very special restaurant. Somehow feels exotic and old world. The food is amazing. The staff patient, efficient and kind. Celebrated an 80th birthday and we were both happy to be back in our hometown and at Le Colonial.

Le Colonial in Chicago gave us such a great dining experience from the start. Our server was all smiles and super attentive, which set a really positive tone. The chilled shrimp roll and pho bo were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The shrimp roll was packed with fresh veggies that blended perfectly for a refreshing, bright flavor. The pho bo had a beautifully balanced broth—flavorful without being overly spiced. We also tried the shaking beef, and the filet mignon was incredibly tender, with a soy-based sauce that added a nice twist. Definitely a spot I’d love to go back to!

This has been a favorite place of mine for over 30 years. They did a great job with the new location and menu options are great. We came to Chicago from out of state to celebrate a birthday at Le Colonial. We made reservations a month in advance and requested a booth in the bar. (The glass area in front is too loud.) Our server took a long time to arrive. It was a Tuesday night, not crazy busy. She didnt greet us or talk to us at all. The table right next to us had a woman with a very loud voice so I discretely put a small piece of kleenex in my ear to damp the shrill voice. The shrimp on sugarcane, always a winner in the past, was undercooked and mushy. The sugar cane pieces were enormous, not delicate skewers. We had several more small plates then moved directly to dessert. Our server was absent most of the time. It's just disappointing to come to a beloved place and have it be just so so. I was here last January and my sister-in-law and I had amazing food and service. So it must have been just this week that I had bad luck.
