    This is a real find because it combines culinary creativity with excellence in taste and service. I am so impressed with this restaurant. Although a small menu, we managed to sample two-thirds of the dishes and every single one was outstanding. The oysters were perfect and the wagyu beef entrees amazing. One in our party had a mushroom with bearnaise sauce and could not stop raving about it. Our server was fantastic and the entire evening a huge treat.

    As good a dinner as I’ve had in ATX. With owner Richard’s help, my wife and I enjoyed the perfect dinner. Follow his / our lead and send me thankyou notes (or $$$): 1) martini — your choice (we had the Cornstar) 2) cucumber / dill salad (insane flavor punch) 3) tartare on Texas toast (epitomizing the Texas bistro theme of Le Calamar) 4) chicken wing a la Koffman (I can’t explain what Chef Casey did; I can just recommend you get it) 5) oyster mushrooms “cooked like a steak”…complete with Bearnaise sauce (holy sh$@t!! — the sleeper of the night) 6) wagyu bavette (sweet mother of Jesús) 7) + side of pommes paillasson (hash browns on crack) 8) Cornas bottle of wine Again, the best dinner I’ve had in ages. Go now.

    Dinner for three. Service started out being very attentive at 5:45 pm, but deteriorated significantly as the restaurant filled with customers. I had to complain after the wait for our main courses became unreasonably long. Uneven food - two of us considered it delicious, the third, not so much. Very enjoyable "Bistro" atmosphere. Parking validation didn't work - we had to pay with a card.

    The food is impeccable I recommend everything however if you have specifications on temperature of meat and any other particularities I would be prepared for a typical French and chef level of rules. To speak plainly the steak will only come medium rare or rare with no adjustments. They do not have olive juice so no dirty martinis and no specialty drinks. Again if you don’t mind that, the food is undeniably the best cleanest most amazing tasty food I have ever had in Austin and I’ve been almost everywhere at this point…
