   The food was not up to its usual excellence so therefore the prices didn't match the quality. The salmon was undercooked and everything else was a little bland, except for the creme brule. I would have never said this of Le Cafe's food before. Something has changed with the food and it's not for the better.

   My husband and I had dinner before seeing a play at the NAC and were most impressed. The food was spectacular (for the record - we shared the hot pot appetizer, he had the beef entree, I had the pork entree and we shared the clafoutis for dessert). The service was also very good, though we had to wait a bit for our bill. The wine list is extensive and descriptive, making this a terrific spot for a special occasion.

   Salmon entree was very overdone - would have expected better given the price. Convenient for us to eat here before a performance but probably will go elsewhere in future.

   If you are attending an NAC performance and want to enjoy an excellent dinner before the performance, Le Cafe is hard to beat. You can park indoors and walk to both the restaurant and the performance without ever venturing outdoors. In summer, the outdoor patio overlooking boats on the Rideau Canal is delightful. The food is excellent, tastefully presented and is good value. Enjoy.

   My wife and I always like to have dinner before we attend a Broadway show at the National Arts Centre as part of a subscription series. We arrived early for our 6PM reservation and were able to be seated by the window. We immediately were brought our choice of water followed shortly by a great table-sized bread basket. Our waiter Michael came and immediately inquired about which performance we were attending as he could then time the courses s0 we would not be late. We each had an appetizer, a main course, dessert and coffee along with a bottle of wine. All were most enjoyable.

    Always like to combine a dinner with a show and this time there was no doubt the pickerel choice that my wife and I chose with the rabbit appetizer and the cream brûlée were all excellent choices ,well prepared,served promptly,and all very different and tasty.Would do it again.
