Welcome to the Crossroads, where Kansas City comes together. An evening at Lazia begins at the hearth with a complimentary house amaro blend as the sound of hip hop's greatest legends fill the room. The menu is both familiar and surprising in its selection of Italian favorites. It offers a collection of Cicchetti and Antipasti to start your meal; an expertly prepared and seasonal selection of handmade, fresh pastas; a satisfying collection of Secondi; and few moments of surprise & delight!

Named for another Crossroads O.G. and pal of Pendergast, Johnny Lazia, our dinner-only restaurant sits at the Crossroads of Italian culinary inspiration and the farms and fields of the Heartland in the Midwest.

We are currently open 7 days a week from 5:00pm - 10:00pm
Valet Parking for Lazia guests is $9, but street parking is also available.

Our first time to Lazia did not disappoint. The food (insalata, octopus, and pork shoulder) was incredible! Portions were all shareable and decadent. Our server, Abby, was thorough, attentive but not overbearing, and highly knowledgeable. We had to wait a bit on our reservation, but the very gracious hostess took great care of us with a complimentary sparkling rose while we waited. We loved the historical setting and comfortable vibe! We can't wait to return!

Dinner on Sunday 6/8/25. The welcome, space and general ambiance was great, a nice open room, aesthetically pleasing. The radiatore with butter, truffle and cheese was delicious. Another diner enjoyed the lasagna. My only gripe was with the special on offer that particular evening. And that being said, it was with the presentation and handling.. not the flavors, which were enjoyable. The dish was a work in progress and not at all ready for prime time. In fact, one of the hosts said as much.. that this was a new dish, and implied that they were working on the presentation. My assumption is that a $48 entree should have gone through the process already. The results showed that this dish needs work. The dish consisted of a halibut filet on top of a fairly thin, broth-like sauce which seemed to be a typical reduction, enriched with butter, with a mixed vegetable dice added to the sauce. This was served on a flat plate. 1. The halibut was overcooked. Not tender, flaky, but a bit resistant and dry. Take more care with precious ingredients. 2. The flat plate made it difficult to eat, the sauce was thin (though tasty) and fairly impossible to spoon up without physically picking up the plate a tipping to one side.. so it was a bit of a pain to keep spooning the sauce over the somewhat overcooked fish to liven it up. 3. No server or host asked about the fish dish. especially the host who made a point of coming out at the beginning of the meal to let us know that this was a new dish and that the kitchen was including the wrong implements with the dish.

Dinner at Lazia did not disappoint! The made from scratch pasta, craft cocktails and attention to every detail of service, made this experience perfect! We will definitely be returning for special celebrations! This was a real treat!

My wife and I have been trying to visit here for a while. We stayed at the Crossroads Hotel and came here for dinner. It was a very nice and intimate setting and the waitress was fantastic. She had us place the order for the items we wanted and spaced the meal out to flow extremely well. We asked for suggestions and I was personally most satisfied with the Serpentine. We greatly look forward to visiting again and highly recommend.

I hadn't eaten at Lazia since visiting in 2019, which was an underwhelming experience. Things have definitely changed for the better in a dramatic way in our 2025 visit. I was blown away by the entire experience and our family throughly enjoyed the entire evening. We shared a bunch of different items and there wasn't anything that disappointed. We had the stuffed focaccia with vodka sauce, grilled octopus, wagyu carpaccio, lasagne, serpente, chicken parm and milk braised pork shoulder. I would recommend Lazia to anyone and I'm stacking it up there with Farina or any other top Italian restaurant in Kansas City. Corkage is $25 per bottle btw (I always like to include that in reviews). It was also our son's 17th birthday and they presented him with a card, signed by the wait staff, which I thought was a wonderful touch. Unreasonable hospilitality. Great, great meal. Our total (including tip) BTW - was around $360 for four people ($90 per person), which also included two cocktails for mom and dad. We did order a bunch of food as it was a celebration meal...you could definitely eat there for less if you were so inclined. We will definitely be going back.
