LAVO San Diego is located in the city’s historic Gaslamp Quarter. Featuring 235 seats and occupying a prime corner in the lively neighborhood, caters to locals and visitors alike. At LAVO San Diego, guests experience a boisterous, vibe-led dining experience of LAVO juxtaposed with a quintessential laid-back, yet chic, Southern Californian flair.

Tao Group Hospitality Chief Culinary Officer Ralph Scamardella has created a menu of LAVO’s hits like the infamous 1 lb Wagyu Meatball alongside brick oven pizzas and housemade pastas. The menu starts with Baked Clams Oreganata and a Chopped Antipasto Salad followed by Truffle Ricotta Cavatelli, Bone-In Veal, Chop Milanese and – of course – LAVO’s signature 20-Layer Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Mascarpone. And complemented by LAVO’s playful cocktails like the Bubbles & Berries with vodka, St. Germain, Strawberries and Frizzante as well as an extensive selection of new and old-world wines.

We had an amazing time celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday. Our server Jared was so kind and so attentive, and he really made the birthday dinner extra special. Our food was incredible and everyone especially loved the marinara sauce that came with the focaccia and the calamari! We could not have asked for a more incredible night, thank you Lavo!

Food was good. We had the. Tuna tartar— gorgeous and generous. Excellent Caesar salad and an excellent family recipe chicken entrée. However, wine this was disproportionately expensive and poor variety and horrible value relative to entrées.

Food was good. The waiter was excellent. Reasonable value and large pasta portion (which we split). A bit too little time between appetizers and mail course.

All good but the food was sub-standard Italian food. Bland or worse for the eggplant rollatini/lasagne. Customers had spaghetti and meatballs- they said mediocre.

Excellent service and delicious food! All 5 of us were very happy, which is not always the case in other restaurants. Our favorite is the chopped antipasto!

Amazing service and amazing food! Seating and service was prompt. Served constantly checked on if we needed anything and refilled our water glasses. We are ordered the arancini and garlic cheese bread for apps. For entrees we had the diavolo pasta with seafood, pasta alla vodka and the eggplant parmiagiana. For drinks we had the pb&c, berries and bubbles, dirty martini, and a glass of Prosecco.

I was kind of surprised but the food was pretty average and not very inspiring…. The Burrata starter was actually pretty good but I had the mushroom pasta as my main and it was very average at best…my friend had the vodka pasta and felt the same way… Service was great, place was nice but food was a maaah
