Wonderful restaurant, a Latin cuisine with a twist. The ceviche was amazing. Note -- they do not take Open Table reservations! If you book through Open Table it will not get to the restaurant, even if you get a confirmation from Open Table. Call them directly.

The menu has so many interesting options that I always have a hard time choosing. However, regardless of my choice, I've never been disappointed. The food has always been very tasty and generous portions. The spinach salad was crisp, cool and not overdressed. The "specials"for the night offered a unique take on their more traditional counterparts. Service was for the most part attentive. Overall, an enjoyable dining experience.

My husband and I wanted to try somewhere new for our date night. I had read about LaVier and saw there were mixed reviews. We decided to try it for ourselves. I am happy that we did! The ambience was fun. It reminded us of our honeymoon in Cozumel. The menu was full of interesting items to choose from. We had the tempura oysters to start - so very creative and delicious! I had a cup of tortilla soup which came piping hot and was good. The trio of fish tacos and did not disappoint nor did the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. We will definitely be going back!

The food was good but the service was terrible. The waitress seemed to forget us several times during the night, and we were twice asked if we wanted dessert before our dinner was served. They just seemed disorganized.

I have to say that the owners are CLASS ACT! This is a very casual, quaint place to eat and the food is delicious. Very friendly employees that make you feel at home and go above and beyond to make your experience worth your while. I would recommend this restaurant to any and everyone. My wife and I will frequent this restaurant going forward. They made our experience OUTSTANDING!! Our server was the owner Gabrielle and what a sweetheart.

As a Latin American, I’m always skeptical about dinning out at a Latin restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised! The ceviche was clean and made perfectly, the Cesar salad was huge and tasty, the Ropa Vieja while a lil on the tomato heavy side for my taste;was full of flavor, the black beans were also done well. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommended this lil gem.

What a nice surprise! Right in the middle of downtown San Rafael. Plenty of nearby parking. Ambiance was noisy but interesting. Seating is pretty tight, so if you're looking for privacy, this is probably not a good choice. Service and food were wonderful and there were creative vegetarian options. I will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our meal very much. There were four of us and we all enjoyed what we had ordered. Wait staff was inexperienced though. Our server was with us in the beginning then did not come back to see if we needed something or if everything was satisfactory. We had to find a server to get a dessert menu then flag someone down to actually order it. However, we will go back as the food was very good and perhaps service will be better on another night or during the day. It’s well worth giving it another go.
