Lava & Tonic
Place was busy but staff was friendly. The staff will take your order and just let you be without hounding too much, which is great in my opinion. Drinks can be pricey, but are always delicious. Atmosphere is amazing.
The Tiki themed cocktails are delicious and unique. The atmosphere feels like a big city cocktail experience. Can’t wait to go again with friends.
We were excited to try Lava & Tonic. When we arrived at 9:30pm we were semi greeted by a lady carrying an ipad. She wasn't super friendly or welcoming. She just told us we would need to leave by 11:30. Our waitress was ok. We told her it was our first time there and she didn't really offer up any info. We order some personal pizzas. They were ok but kind of Totinos-like. There was no music playing. We thought there would be fun Island music playing. We got our tabs and the waitress said "they told you when you got here that we are cash only tonight because something wasn't working didn't they?" Well no one had told us that when we got there. Luckily we had cash. I was really excited to try this bar, but the experience was very mediocre except for the cool decor. Maybe we'll come back, but maybe not.
This is a great escape to daily life. The drinks are pieces of delicious art. The bartenders and staff are super knowledgable and friendly! My new favorite place in the ICT.
This place is awesome. Ambiance is fantastic and they have some really creative, unique drinks. Highly recommended.
fun place, yummy drinks, we did not order food. Great for an occasion because it was festive and different.
Lava & Tonic is the perfect tiki experience. From the speakeasy-style entrance to the authentic drinks, it hits all the marks. I've been to many tiki bars across the country, and this was definitely on par with some of my favorite spots. If you're looking for a chill spot with a great atmosphere and amazing cocktails, Lava & Tonic is for you!
Fun new place for Wichita!
Brought people from out of town and they loved that this place was in Wichita. Also, thanks for making your home on the QLine. Unique and hip, can't wait to go back.
Lava and Tonic was a great choice for birthday drinks. The bar has great ambiance, with a nod towards older Tiki bars. Service was initially a bit slow, but the bartender made up for it with conversation when he came to the table with our drinks and gave us a shot of rum. The drinks were great, would highly recommend the grog nog even though it is seasonal. Great selection of rums and basic tiki drink menu.
We had made a reservation and would recommend that you do so in advance. the only downside was being seated by the door which was drafty on a cold night.
We will definitely go back with friends or for another date night.
Please note on this review, Open Table requires that you rate the food. We did not try the pizzas, so the food rating is not a reflection of the food served. THere is a very limited pizza menu and no apps.
Fantastic drinks and fabulous decor!
Overall, it was a good experience and cool ambience. The drinks were also pretty delicious and garnished to the max, which is was super fun. We started off a little rocky when we were told that we would need to leave our table in an hour and half due to other reservations and we hadn't even sat down. We also weren't walked over to our table - the hostess just kind of pointed to one so we assumed that it should be ours. When the waitress came over - initially there was not a greeting and she just asked to take our order. Being in a new place like - it's nice to be properly greeted and walked through the menu. In the end, we were good to leave in an hour and half and overall the bar Manager was extremely accommodating with moving seats around - just some kinks to iron out to make a truly memorable experience.
Amazing ambiance, great attention to detail with each drink. The drinks are pricier but no complaints here.. the quality and strength of the drinks is worth it. The pizza was so-so.
Having a home it Hawaii, so really looking forward to the experience here. Made reservations for best friend and I on a Wednesday evening at 5pm.
Was a little put off by the boarded up windows, but after we went in, thought maybe a possibility. The decor was a little tacky, predictable for a Hawaii theme.
They need more than bamboo curtains in between the booths - the guy next to us was dropping the f bomb every other word and was so loud. Was very disappointed when we went to order that they didn’t have Pina Colada mix ready - wasn’t frozen even though they had been open for an hour. Seriously!?!
That is a signature drink for any tiki bar.
The drinks we did order were ok, nothing special - the pieces of pineapple and mint in the drinks were huge, not something you want to fight back while attempting to sip on a cocktail. Most all tiki bars have souvenir glasses you can purchase with the drink, but these were served in cheap plastic or glass that you can find super cheap on Amazon.
And when we went to order their signature Pork pizza, was told they were out of that and had to find a substitution. To me the absolute worst thing was the heavy metal music playing almost the entire 90 minutes we were there. Have they heard of HAPA, Don Ho, Keali’i Reichel, Emma Veary or Israel?
That alone would have changed the whole vibe. Would I go back, sadly no.
Great atmosphere and drinks!
Took a long time to get drinks/food, drinks were good especially the Piba Colada
Great atmosphere! Love the drinks. I will definitely be going back!
Fun cocktails that pack a punch. Reservation made it nice to have a great booth and server. Had a great time. Love the environment. It’s a bar so there is noise. It’s not too loud that you can’t have a conversation. Great place to meet people for a drink.
Lava and Tonic will not disappoint, the ambiance, drinks and service are fantastic! Get the Teak 9 and watch out for the Zombie. 🌋🏝🗿🥥
Wonderful staff and drinks! The ingredients were very high quality.
Drinks are phenomenal and now they have pizza!!
Need a tropical getaway but don't have the funds? Lava and Tonic is the perfect place!
We had the best time at Lava and Tonic! We stopped in after the Miranda Lambert concert to check it out and we will definitely be going back. The drinks were tasty, and the decor and ambiance were fabulous. Loved all of it!
Fun atmosphere and great hand crafted drinks!
Neat place, good concept. Drinks were poorly done. Not overly priced, but odd liquor combinations that I would think are specific to only an unique clientele. Tried three different drinks, and was disappointed in all of them
Great service and cool atmosphere . Owners are still developing new ideas but overall a great place to hang out.
Such a fun atmosphere, very unique for Wichita! Drinks were fresh and delicious. Will be back for sure!
First time! So much fun!
