Lava & Tonic, Wichita's finest immersive tiki bar. Our normal hours are Wednesday - Saturday 4pm-2am. Drop by at 1716 E Douglas, located directly west of the Donut Whole.

Please take note your reservations have a time limit of two hours! We require this in order to maintain proper flow in our establishment!

Lava & Tonic is the tiki experience you’d expect from other quality tiki bars like Trader Vic’s. Many of the traditional tiki cocktails you’d expect are here —Zombies, Painkillers, etc— as well as spirits by the shot and some bottled beers. The atmosphere here is great! Furnishings and fittings are natural woods with the ambience filled out with tikis, murals, black velvet paintings and lots of soft light provided by sconces and about 100 hanging lanterns! Look for the posters of Don Ho and Bruddah Iz! (However, don’t expect to find their music, or Lounge/Exotica, played here. Music is strictly surf rock.) Food is sparse but this is primarily a bar and not a restaurant. However, do expect good eats if you order them. Overall, this place is the midcontinent island hangout that you have been looking for.

They messed up our drink orders twice because their tablets were bugging. BUT they made it up with free pizza and extra shark gummies. Top tier service; impeccable vibes. Drinks so strong that i ended up not tipping enough because i couldnt math. So heres a 5 star review. Keep it up😤 Definitely going back

We are Tiki enthusiasts. Anytime we travel we do our best to find a tiki bar. This "hidden gem" (it really is hidden, I had to call to ask exactly where the door was) is fantastic. The drinks were strong but in a well crafted way, our server was super sweet and helpful. We had a great time

Great drinks and service. Okay, overpriced frozen pizza. Very dark inside so when sitting by the door, every time it is opened the daylight is blinding and you have to readjust to the darkness again. Neat decor.

Service was terrible, we did have a large bday party. It took a while to get orders in, get items delivered and then get more items ordered to recieve. There is also a time limit on your reservation, which we got cut off even though there we 2 other large tables that were open. And we were cut off. This was not disclosed when making the reservations. Would have chosen a different bar for our celebration

Good idea with poorest execution. Made a reservation for 3. Scored a coffee table seat in the door way with 0 degree temperatures in a venue with lots of empty booths. After 15 minutes I was asked if I’d like another drink, even though I hadn’t had one . Drinks were potent as advertised. Pizzas were from frozen (announced when I asked if I could get just one without pineapple). Might be okay for a fruity drink after a bad day. Don’t expect service or food…and don’t take a date. If you want a handcrafted $16 cocktail, you’ll be better served (literally) somewhere else.

We had a great time at Lava and Tonic. The drinks were really good and fun. The headhunter was a good show. I brought in family and significant others after Thanksgiving. Most had never been to a proper Tiki bar and thought it was campy and dumb. Lava and Tonic proved otherwise. My only gripe was I think the mug they were selling was $10 overpriced.
