Valentines Day dinner. Yes I know it’s amateurs night out. But for $255/Head prix fixe should I wait 50 minutes from seating to first approach for drink and dinner order? Server placed used fork back at place setting instead of replacing?!! Acceptable at a diner but in Michelin starred restaurant?!!. Sommelier excellent but food B. If you are prepared to pay $1000 for 2 in NY there are plenty of better places. J Robuchon would be very unhappy with his sloppy legacy.
Always an incredible experience. Have come multiple times and i am still blown away by not only the quality and flavour of the dishes, but the service and ambience.
Paris in NYC!
Perfect in every way.
The scallop carpaccio was super fresh and the venison with foie gras was amazing. The Wagyu beef melted in your mouth. The attention to all the details in the dish were perfect. Overall the service was excellent and we will definitely return.
Food was exquisite. Small portions but every bite was perfect. Art meets great taste. Exceeded expectations. Will cost a lot to get full though
My favorite restaurant. Delicious food and great ambiance make it the best place for different occasions
Perfect once again!
Our waiter Max was phenomenal. Meeting the chef was a bonus.
Delightful service and ambiance
Fantastic from start to finish. Food amazing, service impeccable and the staff were just so kind and welcoming - amazing job
Exceptional experience ! Incredible food Love love loved it !!!!
El lenguado y spaguetti con trufa negra así como las entradas de pulpo y scallops extraordinario, el servicio muy bueno. El soufle de chocolate también un must
Very small portions
The food was particularly amazing. 2 star restaurant. Take the full experience / winter menu
As last time, unusually good. Even if pricey, I don’t mind it because the food and experience were outstanding!
Everything was perfection. As soon as the waitress said couples must sit at the bar and experience the food preparation the dinner became more than I thought possible.
Food was amazing
Service was incredible
kitchen active/busy and fun to watch
Pricey but not unexpected.
Excellent! We love this place. I recommend to try!
Outstanding amuse bouche and first courses. Created a huge expectation for the main course and deserts which were not met. Excellent choice of wines.
Incredible restaurant. Truly of Michelin value. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the presentation of the food was.
Great food great service great ambiance. Do you need anything else?
I would like to thank Mr. Christophe Bellanca and his team for a again great dinner.
So far I had 7 courses during 2 visits and for sure I will visit this restaurant again.
The quality of the dinner courses, is it ingredients, preparation, taste and presentation is simply outstanding.
The champagne sauce that comes with the cod is a dream. The St. Jacques Carpaccio which is new on the menu was simply delicious.
The yuzu sphere dessert comes with an intense smell of the Japanese citron due to the shavings around the sphere and is overall so well balanced in taste and texture: the sweetness of the sugar sphere, the acidity of the citron, the creaminess of the mascarpone and the smooth ice cream in the center.
If you are friend of appealing presentation then go for the black forest. I will probably take it next time.
Not to mention the delicious bread selection.
The wine list is also notable with a focus on French wines which is understandable taking the origin of this "gourmet food chain" into account. I wished only that it had a little larger selection of Italian wines also by the glass. Nevertheless the recommendations of the sommeliers are always touchdowns. I had interesting discussions with Mister McKenna and colleagues both visits.
The idea to seat guests at a counter around the kitchen is very appealing for me. If your neighbors are willing to communicate you can have interesting conversations.
Everything is amazing
My friend and I look for exceptional dining experiences ever year for our shared birthday celebration. This year we chose L’ATELIER de Joël Robuchon. It was the perfect dining experience! We had the Evolution tasting menu and sat on very comfortable stools that looked directly into the open kitchen. The movements of both the kitchen staff and service staff reminded me of a beautifully choreographed dance. It was all too subtle to call our experience an event yet it was. Every course was superbly, creatively prepared and presented. The unique and brilliant pairings and blending of ingredients was exciting and deliciuos, The staff were friendly and welcoming; no stuffiness here but definitely elegant. Although we chose to treat ourselves to the entire experience, patrons have many choices since there are a variety of menus to chose from as well as a la carte. I can assure you, the experience is unforgettable! I cannot wait to return!
Merci beaucoup Chef Christophe Bellanca who has worked in some of the world’s most prestigious restaurants, and is now the Executive Chef of L’ATELIER de Joël Robuchon New York and his team!
One of the finest dining experiences I have Ever had. The service was immaculate, the presentation gorgeous and the offerings spectacular
The best overall meal I have had in over a decade but you definitely pay for what you get! (And I dine at Michelin restaurants frequently -). One dish was better then next, incredibly consistent.
Near perfection. Staff was attentive, excited about the food and wine. Atmosphere was lively, attractive, and very enjoyable to watch the kitchen. Food was creative, very flavorful, and much more worthy than the 1 Michelin star. Can’t wait to return!
An unfortunate experience!!! Having been here before, I would not have known better but it was a bad experience this time. Makes me think twice to visit again or recommend. Also, I don’t understand how 2 whiskey sours are $58 even with a great scotch as the pour which on its own was $12 each. A $24 up charge....really? Service was subpar and the fact that while we had great seating they may have overseated the chef counter as we kept getting bumped.
Exclusivity and cost can only be maintained with appropriate execution. Bad job this time!
Service is a hit or miss for this level of restaurant and price. Been here 4 times in 18 months with family and friends because you have a very nice server. But, execution is not good at all. For example, you actually have to look for a server to give you water. If I was at a Denny’s then I would understand. I have now given more than a benefit of doubt and won’t be going back. Much better to spend money at Del Posto’s, Le Bernardin and Eleven Madison, where service is obsequious, food is amazing and you feel like it was money well spent. #overpriced #notagreatexperience
As always the food was great, however, the truffles did not taste fresh.
Our server, Zhanna, was amazing. She was attentive, knowledgeable and extremely friendly.
Our favorite restaurant in the world!
Excellent overall. A couple dishes too heavy and greasy. Terrific desserts and services.
the best i have ate in 2019～～～～～～～～～～～～～～～～～～～～～～～
Flawlessly executed elevated french cuisine; the bread service was to die for. The wine list thot. 4~5x retail pricing on most of their Burgundies, even the ones readily available at any of your reputable wine purveyors in NYC. Just annoying as heck. Bring your own wine. It’s worth the close to $100 corkage fee, a much better deal than buying off of their wine list.
Service was very attentive. We had the Chef’s Menu. The food was very good and the presentation lovely. I get it’s more casual because it’s in the MPD (I’ve lived downtown 25 years) but jeans and flannel shirts just didn’t compliment the ambience and $1,000 meal. by the way, the sommelier was wonderful. Foods worth going most definitely.
Initially a bit apprehensive with the new location, having loved the iteration in the 4 Seasons. Meat packing district, to an infrequent visitor to Manhattan, seemed like it might be sketchy and with the passing of the eponymous founder in 2018, we were concerned that the sublime culinary creations may have fallen in inspiration. Both of these worries were completely unfounded. The tasting menu impressed beyond expectations, the sommelier was spot on in recommendations, and the service was excellent.
New Year’s Eve
