You probably noticed that this isn’t a brand-new building. That’s no coincidence. In fact, our twenty-first-century establishment is housed in the oldest commercial structure in South Bend, built in 1868 as the Second St. Joseph Hotel. No fake historical patina here–like everything we do, this is the genuine article.
At LaSalle Kitchen Tavern we take food and drink service seriously so you can keep the focus on what matters: relaxing with friends over drinks and a meal.
Very nice space and friendly service! The pretzel bites were amazing and so were our drinks!
It is an interesting venue however the menu is very limited.
Food was great. Server was horrible. When we told her we had been waiting over 40 minutes for our appetizer and we had a show to get to at 7, she responded that everyone had the same show to get to and rolled her eyes at me. She was horrible.
The food is really expensive for very small portions that we receive, but it is delicious. The menu is really tiny, and sometimes I have trouble finding something that looks good as I am not a big fan of seafood. The biggest problem is that we usually have to hunt down our server when we need anything, especially when it’s the young lady. It often feels like they are “too good” for us to provide decent service.
The food was great, the waitress was horribly inattentive and didn't even order our entrees for about an hour into our meal which ended up making our dinner last well past what we expected. There was live music which would have been nice if I could've heard myself think over it. The volume was overwhelming and the lead singer had the volume up so loud on his microphone that it sounded like he was screaming into my ear which was less than ideal especially on Valentine's Day when I would've liked to enjoy my company. We had to stop our conversation because it was literally impossible to hear. Some volume control is in a great need. We also had to get up and ask for our check because our waitress disappeared. Super frustrating and put a damper on our entire night.
We went there for Valentines Day they put us on the 3rd floor where the bar is That was not what I was expecting! I wanted to sit on the main level I made reservations way in advance on Open table so surprised when they put us up stairs ! The wine by glass was not good ! I was disappointed in the atmosphere! I had a filet and I asked for well done and it came out medium! Our waitress never asked if we wanted bread or dessert or to see a wine list! I felt they wanted us out of there ! We won’t be next year for Valentines Day!
We had a group of 10 and were there to play trivia. The table was ready, the server was great and the manager stopped by a couple of times to make sure everything was good.
Be prepared for spicy dishes to be spicy. The wings, cheese for the pretzel bites, potatoes aloite had a kick. My waygu hamburger with shoestring fries was outstanding and the desserts amply sized (strawberry cobbler and caramel, bacon brownie ) to share.
Great food and atmosphere. You will enjoy yourself here.
Really nice restaurant, People are very friendly and the food is great.
We love LaSalle Kitchen because it is so convenient for shows at the Morris Civic. Everything was very good, the menu was much shorter than our last visit. We missed some of the offerings from the old menu.
