Larkin's on the River
Larkin’s on the River at the Peace Center is situated in the heart of downtown Greenville, along the banks of the Reedy River, in the old Gower Coach Factory. This is the only building remaining of the original eleven dating back to Civil War. With beautiful preserved exposed brick walls and open ceilings, the history of the building serves as the perfect backdrop to the modern and hip atmosphere Larkin’s on the River offers.

We loved JordAn or server!
Fantastic, creative food. Great great service. You can tell they really train and inform their wait staff impeccably.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating our 20th Anniversary. When we arrived, our table was ready and a greeting card with our names on it was on the table. We began with a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our occasion and ordered separate dishes. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon to accompany our meal. The appetizer was a crab and cheese dip which was divine. My dry-aged ribeye was perfectly seared and prepared at medium heat and was accompanied by asparagus and mashed sweet potatoes. My wife ordered the red snapper over a bed of quinoa. The house also gifted us with the white chocolate cheesecake and chocolate calligraphy garnish around the plate that read "Happy 20th Anniversary". Such a great touch to end the evening! We had table-side french pressed coffee with our dessert. Everything was flavorful and outstanding! We will definitely be back and highly recommend the food and excellent service!
Had one of the best nights of my life dining here. Was very romantic and had a great atmosphere.
Excellent food and service!
We had a great meal. It was a little slow getting our food. The place is noisy and the patio is even louder. Would go back again.
We had a group table for 6 outside for the fall for Greenville. Our server was fabulous. Prompt, friendly and adorable. Bruce the manager was as usual friendly. Everyone's meals were excellent but mine, the rack of lamp; very tough and with little flavor unfortunately.
Food was delicious. Service was terrible. A server did not come to our table for over 20 minutes. Beverages arrived about 45 min after we were seated and food over an hour and fifteen minutes after arrival. Tables seated after us were served before our order was taken. I went to the host stand for assistance . The man who seemed to be in charge told me “you have not been here for 20 minutes.” Larkin’s has been a frequent place for us to dine but we will go elsewhere for a while.
Steak was rare asked for medium, in a hurry so ate it. Appetizers were great , she crab might be best in the upstate
Beautiful outdoor seating area, great food
Very good and expensive
They gave us a free dessert for our anniversary and was overall very nice!
They seated walk ins while we waited. Then they forgot us. Then they sat us at a table by the empty booth they had reserved for us. Bar service was slow. Food has dropped in quality. The waiter was great. This was a favorite place and this was surprising.
Neena was fabulous! She did a great job on knowing the menu and making recommendations. She took great care of us. She was funny, polite, knowledgeable, and basically an all around great server. We will definitely come back, and we will request her as our server.
At this price point, we expect superior standards throughout the dining experience. Even though we had a reservation, we were greeted with “just two?” which has a negative connotation. Our server had excellent knowledge, but told us too much. My husband said he was over whelmed and had no idea what she said. The salmon that I ordered medium rare arrived medium well. The steak was cooked perfectly and was outstanding!
Appreciated the chef accommodating my request for less spice on the absolutely scrumptious shrimp and grits. Outstanding.
We enjoyed our visit to Larkin's. The service was excellent & food delicious. We have celebrated special events at this restaurant on several occasions & have enjoyed each time.
Great food, we loved our waitress Hannah. The dry aged was the best I ever had.
Fantastic gluten free food! This was our first time at Larkins where we found a very knowledgeable staff, a beautiful location and an amazing atmosphere! They made things really special for my Mom's 80th Birthday! We will definitely be back!!
We had a great dinner! They treated our birthday celebration wonderfully!
Birthday dinner. Food was wonderful
Hostess refused to seat us without a reservation despite more than half of the restaurant being empty. We were offered the bar. The bartender was short to the point of being rude. I made a reservation and was promptly seated.
Our server was fantastic, made great recommendations and completely turned the around experience.
Wow. Probably one of the best meals we ever had. Caesar salad made at our table. Chis our waitress was excellent. Even the manager stopped by on 2 occasions checking on us. We are 3 hours away but would eat there next time in town.
Steaks were good but for a high end steak house with that price range the organization from the kitchen was poor. They were not that busy yet took a very long time for main dishes to be served and 2 of 5 the dishes were wrong or cooked incorrectly and ultimately they forgot about the kids desert. Server was nice, did her best and kept apologizing. Overall although food is good, the experience was very disappointing for that price range
Special date. Wonderful experience. Everything was perfect.
Amanda is an excellent professional server. Food was amazing. This is what good looks like!
Great service with new server - special whiskey concoction offered by bartender was great as advertised - ambience was ideal (not too noisy and cozy) - Food was delicious. We were checked on routinely- just enough! Will return ~
Excellent meal. Scallop appetizers were grand. Pleasant place with low noise level so one could actually converse.
We continue coming back to Larkin’s because the steaks are excellent as well as the service! Can’t beat the outside dining area for a spectacular view of downtown! Always polite waitstaff!
Awesome food and service! Thanks for a great Birthday dinner !!
We celebrated our 41st anniversary (8/26) and the food and service was outstanding, our waitress has now become one of my new heroes Shannon she is a RN in the ER and also works as one of the best waitress that I have had in quite some time .
Dinner was average for the price. Steak was quite good but the rest of the meal was nothing special even by steakhouse standards.
We dined at Larkins last night. We had Neena as our server. She is amazing! We had to wait quite a while, and they definitely made it up to us. Amazing fries and oysters. Then had Neena as our server. She is so knowledgeable and efficient! Excellent meal!
Steaks were terrific. One steak came out slightly under cooked but was promptly addressed. Server was very attentive. Will go back.
Celebrated our 8th anniversary tonight, and the entire experience was wonderful. Most restaurants ignore/don’t do anything special when you check the special occasion box on open table, but Larkin’s is the exception! We walked in and first thing we were greeted with a “Happy Anniversary” wish, then our waitress Andie (who was phenomenal) presented us with a handwritten card celebrating us, and gave us complimentary champagne to toast the evening. Then after a great meal, we were delighted with a very sweet dessert, that we barely had room for! Great evening, great restaurant, amazing wife!
The service was just okay not our normal server. The timing of the food was great, but when the food came out it was over cooked. This has happen multiply times in the past. We order our steaks at medium rare and they came out well done. We sent them back and the second time they came out they were burn on the outside and tasted chard. Not good. The sides that we ordered came out cold to the touch and had to be sent back too. We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and the whole night was terrible. Needless to day we will think twice before coming back to dine here.
While high end in cost, ala Carter menus with Rib Chop $52.00 a pleasant experience
Met my brother for lunch at Larkin’s on the River. Food and service were all excellent. Larkin’s will definitely be on my short list of favorites every time I come to Greenville. Thanks.
