Larkin's on the River
Larkin’s on the River at the Peace Center is situated in the heart of downtown Greenville, along the banks of the Reedy River, in the old Gower Coach Factory. This is the only building remaining of the original eleven dating back to Civil War. With beautiful preserved exposed brick walls and open ceilings, the history of the building serves as the perfect backdrop to the modern and hip atmosphere Larkin’s on the River offers.

Larkins Famous She Crab Soup
I’ll keep my comments private to the restaurant.
The wait staff appeared to be new hires. The food was very good but the salad could have been more cold and crisp.
Thank you for the kind review. We do have several new hires on staff right now and are working hard to make sure our training programs are working effectively. Thank you for the feedback, I'll speak with the chef about the salad quality. Thank you again!
Great food! Great service! Great atmosphere! I’ve been here multiple times and the food is consistently wonderful! The creme brûlée is hands down my favorite dessert!
Excellent food and superb service--one of the very best restaurants in Greenville!
Wonderful, thank you so much for the excellent review!
Excellent restaurant on the river. Sea Bass was amazing!
The steak was perfection! The staff was highly attentive and friendly. I would recommend
What a lovely review, thank you so much!
Our food is usually really good, but it wasn’t up to par this time. My fish tasted fishy and the veggies weren’t really sautéed as they normally have been with this dish. My husband’s was bett
I'm so sorry your meal wasn't up to our standards this visit. I'm glad you've had excellent experiences in the past. I will bring these issues up with our Executive Chef.
Had a great anniversary dinner. Great ambiance, delicious food and awesome service!
Happy anniversary! Thank you so much for celebrating with us and for the very nice review.
Food was bland, way overpriced for the experience. Not worth it, should have went to a different steakhouse.
Wonderful experience as always. Great spot for celebrating our anniversary. Fantastic staff and the food was exceptional!
Thank you very much for the positive comments. We really appreciate it!
Food was very subpar for the price. Probably won't go back.
I'm so sorry you had a disappointing evening with us. I do hope you'll reconsider and join us again. If you do, please ask to speak with the manager on duty when you make the reservation. Thank you!
The service was ok. The food was wonderful. The restaurant got extremely warm.
Dependable . Menu needs a flourish and change
We sat inside and the air conditionning wasn't working.
Excellent server! Beautiful place. I ordered the chicken dinner. It was an extremely small piece of chicken, and bland. Everything else was delicious!
The only other issue was the A/C was turned off about 20 minutes before we left. It was very uncomfortable. We asked the waitress if they could turn the air on, and she said they couldn't because it is controlled by the Peace Center.
Food was okay. Calamari app was very small to share.
Soup and salad were nice. Confit was more like a pasta salad. Prefer confit not be shredded into a salad.
Key lime pie was wonderful.
My husband and I went to Larkins for Sunday Brunch, it was fabulous. We had a lovely peach and blackberry seasonal cocktail, deviled eggs, omelette du jour, she crab soup, steak &eggs and our fabulous server Carl scored us a side of grits to make my southern hubby happy. Everything was top notch. Carl talked us into Sharon a slice of tres leches cake which did not disappoint. A new fav for us to add to our reasons to visit Greenville. A lovely dining experience
An overall pleasant experience. Both entrees were delicious. The truffle fries appetizer was just okay. Service was outstanding from the hostess to the waiter. Definitely will be back.
The food was very good as well as the waiter. Our table was ready and we enjoyed the evening.
Beautiful place to eat. It was our first time at Larkins and in Greenville as well. Our server was very personable and professional. Nice dining experience. Thank you!
Great meal, atmosphere, and service!
My wife and I for the last few years spend her birthday at Larkins. It's always a great atmosphere. The staff is always courteous and attentive. The meals always taste great with a unique selection. We will continue to go back.
Probably the best meal I have had in a long time.
It was so so hot that you couldn’t enjoy the dinner or the company way to hot. Get the a/c fixed.
Oysters were wonderful!!!
Grace Ann was our server and she was very personable and professional.
We enjoyed the evening meal and location completely!
For the price of the food I would not expect other food to be mixed in my main course. There was a macaroni noodle in my chicken dinner that did not have macaroni in it.
The key lime pie needs more key lime and not so much crust.
At best this was mediocre my wife and I were not impressed.
Our server was fantastic, despite getting seated four tables all at one time. My order wasn’t correct, but he quickly remedied it. Food was delicious!
We had a reservation and were seated promptly on the patio as requested. Restaurant was fairly busy but there were 3 servers outside so had plenty of help. We had to wait ten minutes or so to be acknowledged. Waitress took our drink orders quickly but did not mention specials or ask if we wanted an appetizer. Drinks came out at different times, by different people, and then we had to catch waitress’s attention to put in app order. We ordered the calamari. It came out hot, but had no seasoning and was not salted at all. We ordered ribeye and Sea Bass. Both were just okay. Steak was of mediocre quality and slightly over cooked (waitress did not check to ensure it was cooked to temperature before walking off). Fish had little flavor and just some simple, steamed veggies that added nothing to the dish. Got french fries with the steak and once again, no salt was added after frying them. We go out to eat a lot. In reading the reviews we had high expectations of this place. For the price point, we were quite disappointed. It is the little things that add up to big things-basic seasoning, adding salt when needed, timely service, etc. These things make the difference between a great experience and a mediocre one.
Steaks were marginal at best. Doubt I will ever go back. Hall’s and Rick Erwin’s are definitely superior to Larkin’s.
Carl was our waiter he was awesome, making our experience even better at Larkins. I had the tasting menu starting with the shrimp cake which melted in my mouth delicious then steak ending with crepe brûlée which was wonderful. My husband had the fish everything was awesome a must when you are in Greenville.
The Chilean Sea Bass with Shrimp was incredible!
We enjoyed the covered outdoor seating along the river and people watching.
The staff was very attentive.
We’ll be going back no doubt.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent! We did not feel rushed at all. They truly made us feel welcome. We had the ribeye steak and it was cooked perfectly. The tres leches was amazing. We will be back.
Steak was dry and over cooked.
lovely, great food and service, would come back again
Had to send our salad back because of dirt on the lettuce. Management was very sorry and comped the salad and replacement burger. Very nice people and a very beautiful restaurant
It was my Birthday, and my Mother had come all the from Ga to have a nice dinner with me. The first impression was coming into a wet floor, with no attempt to mop up other then putting towels up against the bar. The service was subpar ...slow, and awkward . The dinning area was Hot, dark... not a very pleasant experience all around!
Our table was immediately ready. The food was amazing and service was very attentive. We can’t wait to go back!!
