N'duja pizza was delicious. Not much cheese, but I like it that way.

Waitress was awesome, meal was epic, aperol spritzer was delish! All around good vibes and then top it off with a stroll through London fields and it makes for a great day out.

The house cured salmon was delicious and the 'Nduja & rocket pesto topped pizza was fantastic. Finished our meal with a scrumptious buttermilk and cherry ice cream. Over all the staff were friendly and helpful. And the food was delicious. Definitely well worth another visit!

First of all this is a lovely little place, was packed to the rafters and had a great ambience. We had a pizza and pasta and while the pizza went down very well I didn't enjoy the pasta sauce much at all. Can't win them all, I would give it another try!

Great neighbourhood Italian in Hackney. Can get very crowded, not a romantic dinner spot!

The restaurant is lovely as well the atmosphere and the service. We were welcomed by staff and they looked after us throughout our time there particularly as we had our child with us who is nearly two. We had pizza encouraged by the fact that the restaurant has a wooden fire oven. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed as the pizza was average and the look of it wasn't too inviting in my opinion. There are many places in London now where you can have a nice pizza almost like in Naples and Lardo needs to up its game.

It wasn't my first time at this restaurant and it used to be one of my favourites, however, this last time my experience was quite disappointing. The fish that I had for my main was so bony that I couldn't finish it. I'm fine for the fish not to be filleted, but in this instance it was just too much of a hard work to eat it. The music was very loud too and it was difficult to have a conversation. I was on a date, and it was my suggestion to pick Lardo... unfortunately, a suggestion that I regret as spending most of the time deboning the fish and having to shout over the music doesn't make for a very romantic atmosphere. The service on the other hand was quite good.

Lardo's one of those trendy new Hackney places. Bare brick, exposed ducts, bare wooden floor, big glass windows, and beards. Loads of beards. The food's interesting, based loosely on salami and Italianate ideas (salt cod with crispy polenta, mackerel with red cabbage, pigeon with grilled chicory. Good strong tastes and not expensive. Wine is even more interesting with some spooky ideas that even get you scribbling down the names to see if Majestic's got them (they won't have). It's lively and packed, as opposed to the place next door which is empty. People are having a great time. But what most of them are not doing is talking. The noise levels are just daft. Clattery hard surfaces and glass make for amplification rather than sound deadening. The tired looking waitress had to bend right down to hear our shouted order into her ear. To be heard by your companion opposite you have to lean in to them and yell. As everyone has to do this it makes for an unbearable and bizarre din. Some would call it fun, but a lot of diners looked to have given up the fight and had settled down to eat and not try to talk. I once heard that pubs play loud music to make conversation hard so you had a few drinks and got so tired you had to leave with your ears ringing. Perhaps that's Lardo's strategy, using noise to turn the tables. The four of us looked at each other and, as locals within walking distance and the Hackney Picture House looking for another regular caff regretfully shook our heads. Nice, but just too noisy.
