L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele
World-renowned Italian Neapolitan pizzeria L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele arrives in Los Angeles early 2019. The first U.S. location of the historic pizzeria featured in the film Eat Pray Love, Antica Pizzeria Da Michele is located in the space which once held Hollywood’s beloved Café Des Artistes. Antica Pizzeria Da Michele will serve traditional Neapolitan pizza, using the same recipes and importing the same ingredients used at its origin restaurant. Upon opening, head pizzaiolo Michele Rubini, who trained in Napoli, will serve the concept’s two classic pizzas, Marinara and Margherita, with plans to expand the menu with the location’s own unique twist in the future.
Inspired by Italian courtyards, which serve as central gathering points for locals, guests who visit the all-new Antica Pizzeria Da Michele are seated in “il cortile” the restaurant’s quintessential Hollywood garden.
Great food and service
The food was absolutely phenomenal. I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. I will definitely be back soon!
This place is amazing! It all comes together - food, service, ambiance. It's a beautiful space, perfect for outside or indoor dining, warm, inviting, open. Even the waiting area is impeccably designed and comfortable. The service is perfect - knowledgeable, friendly, helpful yet not overbearing. But the food is why we keep coming back. The pizza delivers - it's everything you want it to be, flavorful, chewy, cheesy, and smoky - fresh from the oven. The salads are fantastic - definitely recommend the Caesar or the Beet Salad. You cannot go wrong here!
My friend and I had the best time here! We ordered the margarita pizza the beat salad and one of the pasta dishes! Let’s not forget about the cannolis! Everything was delicious! We are dreaming about having more of the pizza! We highly recommend it! Walking distance to the Dolby theater as well!! All the servers were very friendly. Don’t pass this one by!!
We've been coming since they opened in 2019 and it's consistently excellent. So happy to have an authentic slice of Italy in L.A.
A wonderful find! The restaurant offers an indoor dining area as well as an outdoor dining space with fireplace. We dined on the outdoor patio which is lovely! The center of the restaurant includes an inviting lounge area with fireplace and adjacent bar. L'Antica is known for their Neapolitan pizza's and they offer a selection of pizza's all of which are fabulous. We also ordered a few pasta dishes, equally as delicious and a few salad varieties. The desserts are all made in-house as well. We had a fabulous meal and relaxing time which we hope to duplicate soon. There is valet parking available across the street which is easy access. L'Antica is a "must try" if you haven't already. Be sure to book a reservation as the restaurant fills up quickly during peak hours.
Favourite pizza in LA. Everything we’ve tried was delicious. Warm friendly service. Don’t miss it.
BEYOND amazing food I cannot rave enough!! Went to this restaurant since we couldn’t make it when we were abroad in Naples. The atmosphere was lovely, amazing wine and kind staff! We got the diavola pizza which was the perfect kind of spicy and just a perfectly thin crust pizza you dream of when going to Italy or an amazing Italian restaurant like L’Antica. Citrus salad was light and refreshing, we also started with the fried gnoccho or whatever it was called but was basically fried pizza dough with prosciutto and arugula. Like does a meal get much better than all of that?! Go with a bottle of wine to pair it won’t disappoint! Hope this review helps you 100% decide to go here or also shows the restaurant how amazing it is and what a wonderful time we had!! Thank you L’Antica, can’t speak of you highly enough and we will be BACK!
Delicious! I love that there are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. My new go to Italian spot in LA.
A pizza place should not sera soggy, cold pizza. Salad was way over dressed, especially when you consider its an anchovy dressing. A little goes a long way. Service was good but the food was was very disappointing.
Great other than it took a little long to get served. Once we were served service was very good. Loved the meals.
The doggies pizza ever.
Mom in town
Loved this place!
The food... delicious!
The staff... extremely knowledgeable & kind!
The ambiance... clean & welcoming!
Their fresh pizza is really good. I just don’t like how they fire the meal we waited for an hour before we get our pasta. They course it but not in a good way. You have to get the attention of the server before they come to you.
Pizza is the only way to go here. Everything else we ordered was just okay. Calamari was overcooked. The only thing we can say about the two pasta dishes we had was they were cooked al dente otherwise, both were underwhelming. Service was terrible. We got there before two other tables and was pretty much ready to order within 5 minutes or sitting down and at that time it wasn’t busy yet. But our order was taken last. Had to ask the server 3 times for a drink we had ordered. And then when he came to set down another dish in an already overflowing table for two, I indicated that he could take one of the plates away, but instead he puts the new dish right on top of the empty plate.
Love this restaurant! Luke the manager was fabulous as always and the owner came by to say hallo too !! This place is a gem!!
From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted like family! One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time because the staff is all super nice and attentive. We got to meet the owner who is just incredible! Will definitely be back!
Cool place to celebrate an event or have a group dinner.
Fabulous food. Great ambiance. Will be coming back again soon.
The food was beyond delicious and the hospitality is second to none.
I've been there twice now and both times I really enjoyed the food! The restaurant itself is really pretty & updated. The pizza's are HUGE, so don't expect a personal size pizza because you will definitely have to share... its big! I want to go back in the evening to check out the nighttime scene and ambience.
The food was superb. Very good arancini and perfect neapolitan pizza. However, the service could be better. The attendant was very sympathetic, but she was overloaded, with too many tables to attend.
Food was good, polite and attentive service.
Try the Pizza Margherita and the Caesar‘s Salad!
Food was excellent. Ambiance gorgeous. Service needs to be more attractive when guest is ordering . Made a few mistakes
Pizza and pasta perfection. Have dined at the original in Naples and this was every bit as good.
We return to L'Antica because it's fun, food is good, value is good, service is excellent and it's just a good feeling atmosphere. Even better, it is not so noisy that you can't hear each other. It has all of the ingredients of a perfect evening and we will continue to return. You will enjoy your evening.
$25 pizza, saggy and chewy.
Manager comes to shake hands in the middle of the lunch.
Unhealthy and rude.
Everything was absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended!
Excellent Italian food. A little overpriced, but certainly a fantastic food experience.
Pizza was aces. Broccolini side was not great - soggy. We asked a few different people to bring some dry spices for pizza and they never came. Service was blah overall.
Easily the best pizza in Los Angeles (pizza being the original Italian dish, not any of the American “pizza style” grandchildren). Great location in Hollywood and ambiance is good, albeit maybe trying too much for a pizzeria. Service can be much better, as only the pizza master, the maitre d” and the bartender know why they are there. Today was my third visit and on each occasion our waiter appeared inexperienced and not focused. On all occasions the maitre d’ had to step in - be it to bring a bucket of ice for the Prosecco, to follow up on a drink order, to correct a wrong item on the check.
I’ll keep going there for the amazing food, hopefully the service will catch up.
The Gnocco Fritto were amazing. So was the blackberry cocktail! Definitely will come back for both.
My husband brought me for a celebratory dinner. The food was great the cocktails were amazing. Highly recommend the fools gold...the service was also great!
Best Italian food I have had in the states
This was seriously some of the best pizza I’ve ever had, and I definitely consider myself a pizza-snob
A great, casual restaurant in an interesting space. Outside on the patio, it is quiet and gorgeous! The pizza, salad and pasta were excellent! Great portions at a reasonable value
Great pie. Well put together well priced winelist. Love the place.
