I love this little Italian gem!! Food it’s amazing
Magic place! Magic atmosphere! Magic food! Magic people!
The pizza was out of this world as was the beet salad!! omelettes - eh, a little too much oil
The food and environment were pretty nice. I was able to grab a coffee and a dessert at the end and enjoyed that as well. The service was a little slow, when I wanted to order more I had to wait a good amount of time until the waitress walked into the room to take the order. Overall it was a pretty decent restaurant and I would recommend it.
The food and the service was really good. Especially during the time of COVID, we felt our needs were accommodated, tables were spaces sufficiently far apart and staff were masked at all times.
Last time I was in Italy was August 2019 and I’ve missed the food and travel. Fast forward to dinner Saturday night at L’Antica Pizzeria- the food here is as legit as it gets. Literally- every single menu item is worth it. I think put party ordered about 6 appetizers (do the zucchini flowers and scallops with the truffle cauliflower mash- tears are rolling as I write this from how AMAZING it was), 5 pasta dishes and 2 pizzas and not one a single one disappointed. It was all incredible- from service to plating to ambience to the hospitality! It’s all incredible! I cannot wait to come back! I have officially found my favorite Italian restaurant - identical in taste to how real Italian food should taste. If you haven’t been here, make your reservation and go immediately, if not sooner!!!
Thank you for a wonderful and memorable dinner and evening! Can’t wait to come back soon!
The pizza is great and the outdoor ambiance is wonderful! We had a bottle of wine and a couple pasta dishes. The pizza was the best of the items we ordered. 👍🏻
Perfect food, perfect ambiance
We had an amazing time! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was above and beyond! Their outside patio is like stepping into a dreamy place in Italy. Loved every moment of it! This place is one of my favs!
Best pizza in LA and the service was amazing. Highly recommend!
I tried the restaurant this week at lunch with my son for the pizza and was not disappointed! This tasted just like the pizza we eat in Italy! The ambience on their garden patio was very zen. Service was prompt and friendly. They were following all the social distancing requirements. We saw a lot of different pasta dishes, apps and salads come out to other tables and will definitely be back with the entire family for a dinner to try more of the food. Everything looked homemade and delicious!
Our server was incredible - everyone who works there is so nice and the ambiance is amazing! 10/10!!
Inspire of asking for gluten-free, they didn’t prepare and got regular. I’m used to double checking and that’s when they took it back. That’s a huge mistake and then it was prepared in hurry and absolutely bland
Great lunch!! I always love this place. And I am Italian, my opinion, in this case, counts double........lol
Their outdoor patio was great! It’s as though they knew COVID was coming. Love the food! Love the atmosphere!
I first experienced L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele while visiting Napoli in 2013 with my mother, whose family is from the Campania region of Italy. After tasting pizza at six of the top ten rated pizzerias in Napoli, I concluded that Da Michele was definitely the best pizza I had ever enjoyed; including pizza in New Your City. The best benefit of relocating back to Los Angeles is found at 1534 N. McCadden Place in Hollywood. Francesco, Michele, Antonio and the entire staff make this my absolute favorite restaurant in L.A.
This was my second time eating here and it was amazing again! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is super chill. Definitely a must try in the LA area.
Great place !!!!!
The food is pretty bland. The pizza mushy!
Great authentic food. Beautiful patio and comfortable seating area. My party was 30 min late and we were informed that we had 1 hour left to eat (due to seating capacity). It wasn’t the best thing to hear, but it’s totally COVID understandable.
My new favorite! Gorgeous restaurant with gorgeous food! We loved every delicious bite! The margarita pizza was out of this world , Pomodoro pasta amazing and the spinach ravioli special was unbelievable’. Truly loved it all!
Best pizza I’ve ever had, Italy in los angeles. Service was excellent.
It's usually a good idea to avoid food that needs an explanation, but real Neapolitan pizza needs an explanation. So, what is Neapolitan pizza? You can think of it as the original "Pizza 1.0" It can only be made with certain types of ingredients, use approved equipment and follow traditional pizza-making methods. The pizzas are about 14-15 inches in diameter. The crust is perfectly fermented. They bake at extremely high temperatures (above 905F) and their bakes times are consistently 45-60 seconds. The "standard" Neapolitan bake time is 90 seconds, but now that I've had the faster bake, I can see why they do it. The ultra-fast bake time is their "secret sauce". The final texture is superior and the small amounts of charring on the crust and undercarriage adds an essential flavor note to the crust. The crust itself is extremely tender, almost crepe-like. This is traditionally a "knife and fork" pizza, but our pizzas can pre-sliced. I would suggest getting it cut into four or six pieces, so that you can hold the slice in a "V'" formation.. Whether or not you ultimately "bond" with this style of pizza, you should try pizza the way that its creators envisioned it at least once.
I've been fortunate in that I've visited the Da Michele locations in Florence and in Rome within the last year. The pizzas that I had in Florence have haunted my memory. I've had plenty of good Neapolitan pizza before, but this was truly ethereal. I'm delighted to say that the Hollywood location is exactly the same, and we have the additional benefit of having many additional menu items that are not offered in Italy.
The wine list is loaded with fabulous imported Italian wine, and I'm sure that you'll be delighted with whatever you choose.
Finally, the staff, owner and pizzaiolo were extremely friendly, gracious and accommodating to a pizza nut like me.
Best Pizza in LA, truly faithful to pizza in Italy.
Food and service were OK. I have been to L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele in Naples which is not at all fancy like the one in LA but pizza was really good. We came here with same expectations but were pretty disappointed. Also cocktails we ordered were watered down, when we told the waiter the response was we will charge double the price to make it stronger 🤷♀️. I recommend visiting the one in Naples but not this one in LA.
Incredible food, great service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon
As always, my fav place for pizza (and the nutella dessert). The vibe is awesome as well
Second time visiting with my girlfriend and the atmosphere continues to impress. Staff is very dedicated to providing quality service. Closest thing to a home cooked meal away from home. 10/10
Great food, in a beautiful outdoor patio. The short rib pasta was the highlight.
I'm sad to say our (first) experience was not great. Of course expectations have had to shift a bit due to Covid compliances, but even with this in mind, the experience fell short in my opinion. We were sat in an enclosed tent on the front side of the building, not the adorable back patio you see online. It was a windy day and the tent walls weren't anchored down, so they were blowing anywhere & everywhere. To avoid literally getting hit in the head from the tent wall, we had to sit on the same side of the table facing the tent wall, which wasn't very exciting. The wind was loud & distracting and honestly set a poor tone right off the bat. Our appetizer presentation was messy and arrived before our cocktails, which isn't ideal. Our pasta & pizza courses were tasty but once we finished, we sat with dirty plates for some time waiting for service, check, etc. We declined dessert as we were ready to go. The food & drink tasted good, but honestly, the ambiance & overall experience left MUCH to be desired, much less for the price point of a late lunch ($140 total including tip). If you do venture to this restaurant, I'd request the back patio and ensure it's a calm-weather day, or just wait until regular dining resumes.
Incredible experience, will be back to try every item on the menu!
Great staff. Reservation process easy peasy and the menu broad and plentiful. It was a but windy that day so I can be too critical of the food, but everything was cold. We got burrata, marg pizza, and 2 pastas. Pizza was big but under par. Flavors were good so I would try again and order more stuff. Did I mention Great staff?
Valentines Day
Special mention to Chivon our amazing server who took such good care of us
No need for a long review. Simply put, this is the BEST restaurant, with the greatest food, most friendly staff and the perfect ambiance day or night. We have been dining here since it was newly opened in 2019. With covid still around these days and my anxiousness of just "dining out anywhere", this place is the ONLY place I trust to dine out. You wont be disappointed :)
Food was delicious. Felt safe for our first evening out in many months. Service was good. Will be back again soon
Great food and amazing service! Would definitely recommend friends to try this place out.
Our favorite place to go when we want to feel like we are in Naples. Francesco and his team are amazing. Perfect spot for date night or family night out.
We were asked to leave in 1.5 hrs which wasn’t nice. Felt rushed and couldn’t really enjoy the date and the food. We had to rush through our gelato and leave some behind as the hostess came over to ask us to leave for the max 1.5 hr time limit/table.
Amazing Food and Amazing Staff!
