   We had a wonderful time at the Lantern. The bartender will mix up a cocktail based on what flavors you like. Mine was delicious and unique. The coconut soup is outstanding and the pork belly is the best I've had in Portland. Service is personal and excellent.

   The food is a French Vietnamese style. That is definitely something I wouldn't touch on a normal day (I'm a very picky eater). However, my party got different meals and shared between us. It was ALL DELICIOUS! I highly recommend going and trying for yourself. They are planning to add variety to their menu frequently so I'm excited to go back again and try the new items. Their drinks are also amazing. What is so fascinating about all of their dishes and drinks is that each one has a variety of flavors. Your mouth goes on a rollercoaster and it is fascinating experience. I tried almost everything on the menu and each one was delicious.

   We tried several dishes and the hearts of palm salad, cod and prom belly dishes were exceptional. Menu is quite limited and we tried to order dessert but only one of the two selections was available. They do not serve coffee. No non alcoholic beverage selection.

   Excellent service and wonderful food. The drinks were very creative, providing an excellent experience for the pallet. This is one of our new favorite restaurants in Portland and a well hidden secret since it is new , but I'm sure the secret will not last long.

   Noise level was excellent but there was this snowstorm and not many braved the weather. They should have. Unusual food sensations that were fabulous! White fish and coconut broth soup unique and delicious! Scallop pancakes were not pancakes with scallops in a divine broth but scallops in a pancake format in a fine broth. Ok the topper for me was a scrumptious steak tartare which was so exceptional it needs its own name. Ambience very Portland--casual low key tasteful. On our list of repeatable eateries. Oh, the service was perfect but cannot say how it will be when the snow stops, but if you have to wait it will be worth it! And the cocktails are deliciously like no others!
