The wild boar ribs are still amazing years later. The fried green tomato and crab salad, so good. Collard greens melt in your mouth. The sausage was a bit dry but still good. The ceviche was not up to par. Cocktails were solid. Waiter was ok. Felt like maybe he was newish. Took about 20 minutes for our cocktails and first food to arrive. People seated after us received food and cocktails before us. Not sure what happened there but everyone has good days and bad. Was hoping for a little more recognition in that error but none was made.
My husband loved the brisket!!! I thought atmosphere amazing! Wish they still had fried okra!
This place is too noisy. Food is okay but not worth the price
Excellent bbq brisket and sausage and sauces.
The food absolutely delicious!
The food was SO Good!!!! Server and atmosphere were awesome too. It is located in a historic building with a really neat upstairs and patio area. Our entire group could not stop expressing how much we enjoyed it there.
Dinner was amazing!!!! Surpassed everyone's expectations!
Great extensive BBQ experience: food, service, ambience (including de live music). Largely suggested you go there hungry. Portions are Texas size. Would definitely come again next time we visit the lovely Austin.
A little concerning to have the big homeless encampment across the street at City Hall, but hopefully the pice will start enforcing the camping ban soon and that will be over with.
Service is top tier with plenty of clean up support. The complimentary corn bread muffins are worth the trip with a cocktail.
Fantastic service and wonderful food. A bit too loud for finer dining, but overall a wonderful celebration for our recent graduate
Came twice - once for dinner without a reservation and were sat at bar and then two days later with reservation for a late lunch.
Over the two days we sampled the “Pineapple Sour” cocktails and had the “Queso & Burnt ends” starter, Buffalo ribs, Steak Benedict and a Brisket sandwich
All in all a great place for more up market BBQ
The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and steered us to a much better wine than we planned
Service was excellent
Good overall setting and experience
We loved to ribs! Everything else we had, Mac and Cheese, Cornmeal Shrimp and fried green tomatoes were just ok.
I haven't been out too much over the last year, but I'm glad I saved this one for one of the first big dinner outings this year. It was almost as the service was pent up over the last year and they extended every bit of joy over the 90 min dinner. The food was amazing and fast. The service was really what made the night. They provided great recommendations and service. I just found my new favorite go to in Austin!
First thing to mention is the lovely building. It speaks to old southwester / Austin heritage quite well.
Second is the service, which was just the right amount of attentive, helpful, etc. with good recommendations for what to order. He was also extremely good looking, like all the rest of the staff here seemed to be.
Our booth was pretty quiet, even though there was a band upstairs playing an event.
I tried the all-beef sausage, brisket, and pork rib which came as a single entree for about $32, along with some pickles. I also had the coleslaw for $9. All were delicious. My guest and I split the Queso for $14 which was also delicious and came with chips and tortillas.
The meal came with a mustard sauce, a habanero sauce, and a sweet bbq sauce. All were good and the habanero packed a definite punch.
For drinks I had a cucumber fizz and a cucumber gimlet, both gin drinks, about $13 apiece. Tasty, though not strong pours.
Overall, I highly recommend and I will come back.
Overall very good. Great fo
The beef rib was Oh. My. Gawd. I literally dreamt about it afterward!!!
Great experience as always
Very surprised at the pricing, the food was good, not great. The pricing was ok, not good. I will go back to try again but next time just a plate. Service was ok, server forgot iced tea, drinks took awhile to come out and the place wasn’t packed.
Overall though I’d give it a 3.5/4 out of a 5
We went for an authentic BBQ experience. Food was not up to my expectation. Price was high for quality offered.
Food and service were perfect!
Nice server that was attentive. Food was solid. Good sized portions. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
We booked reservations here to accommodate two appetites: one who wanted some good Southern cooking and one who wanted a plain burger. Lambert’s did not disappoint! His burger was “one of the best he’d had”. My shrimp and grits dish had my mouth watering after the first bite- plump grilled shrimp was, onions, jalapeño peppers and greens topped the grits. I would visit Austin again just to have this meal again, it was that good.
Excellent food and cocktails - upscale bbq for a special date
Thought the food would be better for brunch, little disappointed overall. Very little meat in the Frito Pie and same with the Chiliquiles.
Clay is the best server ever!!!
everything was fantastic, as per usual! Delicious food, great service, fun night.
Lambert’s was great. The live music was amazing and the food matched it! Highly recommend the wild boar rib appetizer and the whole beef shortrib, but everything was amazing. The service was very accommodating and attentive. Will definitely visit again next time I’m in Austin. Great experience!
Very disappointing the food was brought out cold and for somewhere specializing in barbecue I can and do cook better. Will avoid the next time I'm in Austin.
outstanding service and the best baby back ribs I've ever eaten!
The bbq ribs, brisket and short rib are so outstanding. We have good bbq in NC, but this is beyond anything we have tasted. We had broccoli and collard sides that were deliciously prepared.
The service was informative and efficient.
The beer, whiskey sour served shaken, and oxacao cocktail were very flavorful.
Don’t waste your money on dessert. This outstanding restaurant obviously outsources their desserts.
I took my father to this place to experience some Texas barbecue. It has a very nice, classy vibe. My father is used to nicer restaurants and he thoroughly enjoyed this place. Great for dates or family outings and special occasions. Food was TO DIE FOR and our waiter was so incredibly friendly and went out of his way to talk to us about the whiskey we were enjoying. Highly recommend making a reservation here!
Service was great!! Some dishes like the Short-rib was awesome but some of the other dishes fell flat. However, overall it was a was a good experience.
The best high end BBQ in Austin!
Outstanding experience all the way around!
Excellent food and drink. A great option for fine dining of a BBQ/smokehouse variety.
