The menu was wonderful; I had a hard time choosing what to eat! The bar staff was very attentive and helpful for selecting a drink or wine. I was not impressed with our server at all. He spent zero time with us talking about the food and didn't smile once. Actually, we felt we were inconveniencing him by being there. That said, other aspects of the service were great. The food came promptly and we always had what we needed. No one came to check on us after the meal come, though... not your typical higher-end service.
This restaurant never disappoints. The food is phenomenal (they have the best escargot in town) and the service is always impeccable.
Going to L'Albatross is an absolutely lovely experience. My niece and I arrived after attending the Orchestra for a 10:30 dinner. The place was crowded with diners, but we were quickly shown to our reserved table.
The menu is classic French bistro in the best sense of the word. Expertly cooked yet hearty food. We started with snails in a rich, garlicky butter sauce. They were outstanding. I had perfectly cooked trout and my niece enjoyed cassoulet.
A warm brownie topped with rich vanilla ice cream finished our meal.
The venue is cozy, intimate, and a lovely place to dine. Excellent, attentive service. I would highly recommend.
We've been here a few times now and had a great meal each time. Try the cheeseboard!
Perfect way to brighten up
Wintertime. Love French onion soup. Cheese tray options are exceptional. Already looking for recipe to make grapefruit sorbet .
We scheduled a reservation for L'Albatros to follow an afternoon at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The day was exceptional. The staff at L'Albatros welcomed us with their usual, generous hospitality. The wait staff are efficient and nothing was lacking. The kitchen created excellent appetizers and entrees.
Always a perfect choice, L'Albatros never disappoints. This restaurant has become a special place in our lives. Service is personal, comfortable, dependable, formal, and relaxed - all at the same time. Food is not fussy, but always sophisticated. Definitely recommend!
Great French inspired food in a nice, home-style setting. Tables were a little bit close together, but that is to be expected when eating inside a house. Service was on par-I don't think our water glasses ever got lower than half full. A bit pricey, especially for the portion sizes. Our bill was $111 for 2 appetizers, 2 drinks, 2 entrees and 1 dessert. Would recommend!
Food and service was beyond excellent and the cheese tray was to die for tables are a little close together but I highly recommend definitely will be back!!!
