We enjoyed our dinner at Lago they Como. We ordered the seafood spaghetti dish. We thought it was delicious with a very rich sauce. We thought, however, that it was lacking as far as the seafood. It would've been very nice to have some small pieces of fish mixed in. The bread was delicious as always and the Tiramasu was light and flavorful.

Lago Di Como was a delightful surprise. The food is excellent (I actually found myself quietly moaning after forking up a mouthful of Spaghetti del Pescatore. It is an exceptional neighborhood treasure. We plan to return SOON!

We came here based on the Yelp rating. It was my wife's birthday and she loves Italian food. Our reservation was booked through Open Table and when we arrived we were greeted warmly and seated. Our server was friendly, and explained the specials clearly. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir and when it was served, she let us know it was their last bottle, so if we wanted more we needed to think of a different one. We started by ordering the Polenta Uncia as an appetizer. When it was served, it was their Buratto cheese special, not the Polenta. We decided that was fine, maybe when I said polenta she heard buratto. It was delicious. Next we had Caesar salad, which was okay, not outstanding. We then split a risotto dish, which our server said was not allowed but she would bring us two plates. The rice was under cooked. For our main dish we each ordered the Veal Scallopini and a bottle of Petit Sarah. The veal was tough. The side of potatoes had been nuked and I had to cut them with a knife they were so hard. When we had finished our meal, the staff came over with a taramisu with a candle and sang Happy Birthday. Which was nice, the dessert was very good. Overall our experience was mediocre. The setting was nice, except that the bar area is open to the main seating and the TV is a distraction. We could not recommend this as a good Italian restaurant to our friends, which is too bad as the staff are very nice and helpful.

This was a really delightful surprise. We've been coming to Santa Cruz for 33 years and never knew about this place. We had a large pre-Thanksgiving group and they were quite accommodating and the food was wonderful.

Legit Italian food, generous portions, good service. Kitchen continues to have minor difficulties getting the entrees to arrive at the same time, not a big issue usually.

Outstanding food prepared in the Northern Italian manner. Wonderful choices with all seafood cooked perfectly. They adjust for special requests (for kid dining) and the wine choices are great. We had a seafood stew (kind of like a cioppino), a risotto with white fish, a special of swordfish, and octopus salad, as well as fried calamari for the young one. Wine: a lovely, full valpolicello ripaso. Service is excellent and accommodating. The only negative is the noise level. It overwhelmed our youngster and prevented our diner with a hearing issue from hearing any conversation. All subtle conversation is lost in the hard-edged reverberating sound in this place. We tried to come early to avoid it, but the place jumps and when we left at 7pm, all the tables were filled. I wish that more restaurants would go for a quieter ambiance and save their patrons' hearing.
