Our 2nd visit, both have been on my wife's birthday. Excellence by every measure. Impeccable service by what felt like our own entourage of waitstaff and a discrete and unobtrusive inquiry by management making sure everything met our expectations. They exceeded those by a comfortable margin. Always nice to have a waitstaff that knows the menu, asks good questions to find a good fit for each diner. The food is terrific, but the nature of the genre (Mediterranean) requires either some knowledge of the style (mostly shared dishes/courses) or a waitstaff that can "coach" you to the best offering to satisfy your appetite without making decisions too complicated. They are good at their job and you can spend your energies focused on good conversation, not the least of which is devoted to how much you are enjoying the meal.

Took several business folks from out of town. Everyone had rave reviews. We ordered 5 of the small plates as appetizers. The spicy feta was particularly good. Lamb rigs and the Harissa shrimp were also big hits. Enjoyed eating outside on a cool evening. Service started slow but became a group effort and improved over the course of evening. I personally enjoyed the unique Mediterranean wine selection. The white wine from Greece complimented my meal. It was my second time there and will be back. I think I made a fan of the others in my party.

Ladino is a great restaurant for family friends and special occasions. we go there every Saturday for our day date and it’s always magical. The atmosphere is just amazing. The food is so great with seasonings and taste. You can feel the love in every meal and every bite. This is why it is one of my top restaurants to go to.

We enjoyed sitting on the patio with our group of 6. Service was very good, our favorite food choices were the hummus, spicy feta, dumplings, and the chicken. And thise of us who had the green schug margarita all said we’d come back just for those!

We ordered a sampling from all categories. My favorite was the shishbarak... The beef and lamb dumplings. The yogurt sauce was delicious, I ordered a second bread to sop up every drop. The pork souvlaki was amazing, and the lamb belly ribs were so flavorful. I wish I had their rub recipe! We also had the Tirshi and Kibbeh Nayeh, both wonderful. We did take home some of the lamb and souvlaki. But we had to share the ice cream sandwich for dessert. It was a sweet, refreshing finish to our meal. Alex, as well as all the other servers, were friendly and just attentive enough.

The food and presentation of same are beautiful. Service is outstanding. Nice wine list. Not huge but good selections. Only negative was the noise. The background music was too loud to start with and when we walked in it was rap. Not conducive to a higher end dining experience. Once the dining room filled, the noise level became VERY loud. Better option if weather allows is dining outside. Food is served family style with dishes meant to be shared. Every dish we ordered, which was 8, were very good. The fire roasted corn and butternut squash dishes were excellent, as was the pork souvlaki and saffron chicken. For a Tuesday night it became packed by 7:15-7:30!

Ladino always sets the bar high for restaurants in San Antonio. They’re consistent with their food, service, cleanliness, and ambiance. I’ve been to Ladino 3-4 times and it has become one of my favorite restaurants!
