This place is way too expensive for what you get. The steak was terrible. There should be more food on the plate for the price. it’s a hipster spot with a nice view and over priced everything. I wouldn’t recommend it.
If I’m honest, the food is good butttt I wish it was hot when brought to the table. The reason I decided to come back today was because the first time I came just 3 weeks ago for my birthday, I had a great experience and so decided to come back for brunch once again. It does not make sense to me if you say brunch is till 3pm but when you get there an hour prior, you don’t even get to enjoy everything you pay for. Paying over $200 is a lot of money for me to not get everything on the menu. If you’ll have brunch till 3, it’s only right to still have everything on the brunch menu available for your guests. It’s one thing if you let folks know of what you no longer have and not only that, you should consider reducing the cost. Also, no one likes cold food. Almost everything that came to our table was cold😒 Though our server was nice, it took a while for him to come tend to us. It seems as though he was tending to everyone else and was barely making it to us. Overall, I was not satisfied today.
The quality of was very bad. Nothing was fresh. Quantity for 4 people were very less. Choice of items was poor. Damn expensive with unnecessary service and sanitization charge. Staff was lost.
Absolutely loved everything about
la vie love it❤️
my second time and it was still great food, service and atmosphere.
It was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I love to brunch and this was by far the best brunch place we went to. Food / service was top notch and it was worth every Penny!
My wife ordered the scallops and were over cooked
My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday. From the start it was very crowded with one elevator. Once we made it upstairs, there was a brief wait (5-8 minutes) for our table. They walked us to a table that was still had the previous diner’s items. It was so loud in the middle that the host couldn’t figure out why we didn’t sit down. She then understood and took us back to the host who then asked us about our reservation for 2 and why we were changing it to 4. I told her we are just two and there were no changes. We were finally placed on a table by the window which is a lot less loud than the middle of the room. I ordered one of their specialty drinks, Empress 75, which was delicious. I placed our order, took a sip, and went to the restroom. Upon my return I noticed my drink my was gone before I had finished it, at $20 a drink I should be allowed to finish it. I ordered the roasted halibut. The fish was well cooked, I didn’t like the slab of butter spread out underneath it. I couldn’t avoid it and it made the meal taste heavy. The curry onion labneh was nothing special and lacked flavor. At $45 the dish left me dissatisfied, since all I could taste was butter. My husband ordered the burger royale which was salty and the fries were way too salty. We had planned on dessert but were disappointed that we decided to skip it. For a total of $140, I would not say it’s worth its value. The ambiance is trendy and the view is nice. Beware that parking is a nightmare and plan to arrive early as a result. Leaving the restaurant took a lot longer to get in, we were crammed in a hallway with lots of people trying to get in and others trying to get out. Meanwhile patrons have to use the same hallway to use the restroom.
This was a beautiful restaurant with delicious food!
I truly enjoyed the vibe of La Vie!! The food was amazing!! We enjoyed ourselves!! We will
When I tell you I could go on and on about all good things regarding La Vie…Imma just say less…amazing!!
Absolutely loved every bit of this experience. We sat out on the terrace and the night was amazing
We came to DC for business and were recommended La Vie by locals. We booked our reservation a week in advance and had no problems. The view was beautiful and the experience was great.
Spendid expérience! I will be back soon
Great ambiance and excellent food. Parking is hard so make sure to leave time for that
Great service, ambience and food. Celebrated a fun birthday.
I had an awesome experience, went for a girls night and couldn’t have made a better choice. It was heaven!
We had a great dinner for my wife's birthday. Our server, Mitch was on point with his menu explanations and recommendations. The food was delicious, and my wife had a great experience.
Love the experience. We felt special they acknowledged our wedding anniversary which was only annotated during the reservation process. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Truly a beautiful space. Food was delicious, although healthy sides such as fried cauliflower and crispy Brussels sprouts could do with less added toppings - we like fewer calories 😉. Branzino filets we’re perfectly done and quite delicious.
It was amazing. I proposed to my girlfriend there and the service was amazing. We got free champagne, free dessert and a table with a view. Absolutely amazing. 100% recommend.
Wife loved it for her birthday! The cotton candy desert is a must try!!!
Food was great I got the lobster risotto. Everything was fresh. Waiter was great very attentive. Sangrias were great. I would come back again
Fantastic! I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The scenery was amazing!
The food was horrible, we ordered the brunch $54 per person and the food was brought to the table. The bacon was burned and everything was cold. The mimosa taste like papaya juice with sparkling water. The ambiance was 5 stars but the food was 1. We left hungry after spending $267, we stopped for ice cream.
Brunch ends promptly at 3pm, which during our visit there were delays in the kitchen which resulted in food options dwindling as the time approached 3pm. We had a 1:30pm reservation and figured we’d get through all three courses by 3pm. We were seated later than the reservation at 1:45pm, and we only received our 2nd course by 3:15pm. The third course, we put into boxes as brunch was over and items were missing. I’d recommend either booking earlier or pick a different brunch location.
Be prepared to eat because you will be served an abundance of delicious small plates.
The service was slow. Often, the waiter forgot to bring items ordered.
The price was very high and the quality of the food was poor.
Jason was the best server. He made great recommendations and we always had food and beverage on the table. I would love to come again and sit in his section.
Went for 10am Sunday $54/per + compulsory 20% bottomless brunch. Got seated at table with view of the Potomac which was nice. They don't have printed menu you have to your smartphone QR code reader ready to scan the QR code to get you to download LaVie_Brunch_09.28.21 .pdf.
Food was initially slow to come and did not come until around 10:35. Could not choose the dishes and depended on the waiter to pick the dishes. Waiter was very helpful and mentioned that food orders were put in and that waiting on the kitchen staff. Savoury section dishes seemed to been cooked by a novice chef. Got feed with omlettes and then 3 fried eggs, sunny side up. The SALMON SOUVLAKI eggplant caponata were just chunks of fried salmon which tasted weird. Did not bother to try their dessert. Left fed up with quantity and not so much quality food. This is for constructive criticism hope the kitchen staff/cook get better training.
Great overall ! I would definitely go back back !!
This restaurant was a great choice. The food and drinks were remarkable. Our server was great. He provided his honest opinion when asked about food and choices. In addition, the restaurant accommodated the seating arrangement when we had additional guest.
Everything from the service from Jose to the food was excellent. Money well spent for the eating and social experience. Was very satisfied with everthing.
Very beautiful restaurant ! The ambiance is everything ♥️♥️ Good way just Okay nothing spectacular but Definitely worth the drive from Baltimore..
Date night out…amazing dining experience. Excellent service & ambience.
Loved dining on the terrace. The views of the Potomac River were gorgeous and a great backdrop to our dining experience. The food was amazing.
Wow! Ambiance was amazing. The drinks were good and the food was even better! I was shocked by how big the portions were. I thought I would pay mostly for the ambiance, but the food and drinks were well worth the money.
Wonderful atmosphere, energetic and lively. The food was great. The drinks fabulous. Cons: Take an UBER parking is awful. The later it gets, the more LA Vie turns into a club.
