About
Delicious!
Under new ownership & all the cocktails are gone. They used to have fun cocktails. So, now its beer & wine- wish we knew so we could've gone elsewhere. We had a reservation & placed in the lobby when you walk in. Zero ambience & terrible lighting. Menus are very hard to read & we were pressed to find anything that we were excited to order. Across all 4 of us, we all left dissatisfied. Salad was heavy on dressing, sandwiches were awful....total disappointment.
We thought it was a Spanish restaurant, but to my surprise it was more an American restaurant with Spanish dishes, the waiter and waitress were very nice but boring it did not have the Spanish vibe, the restaurant is beautiful but like I said is more pretending than the real deal, nobody spoke Spanish kind of sad too. The Tapas were delicious but the Paella with pollo and chorizos were not good too watery for my taste, I could definitely go one more time in the summer but not a place I could like to go often, sorry I hope the owners take this review in consideration because the place has a lot of potential.
Our favorite place in Williamsburg! The menu is great and affordable and the staff is very attentive. Best Sangria outside of Spain!
Excellent and unique in every way!
Highly recommend.
Brussels sprout dish was exceptional along with red pepper bisque. Unfortunately, the restaurant only served wine & beer. We missed having a pre-meal cocktail. Service was timely. We did have an issue with a child at table next to us on iPad that was loud enough to disturb our conversation.
La tienda offer real Spanish food, very authentic savor!
Terrible service. 6 ladies and 3 bottles of wine and we got cut off. We were not disruptive or loud. Server was constantly judging every move we made. We spent over $300 in food and drink (would have spent more had the server/bartender not made us feel completely uncomfortable) I, absolutely, love the food here however, after last nights service, not sure we will ever return- or suggest anyone to ever visit La Tienda.
Love La Tienda. My favorite go to place to bring friends! Always wonderful specials, and the menu showcases many Tapas to try.
Thank you for this neighborhood gem!
From food to service to ambience, the entire experience was amazing!
One of our favorite places. Never had a bad time there, the tapas are great and service friendly.
Fantastic service and food!! Will definitely be back.
Fantastic little restaurant. Williamsburg's best kept secret. Food is authentically sources, prepared and served. Cozy and inviting ambiance. and excellent selection. Service is adequate though a bit slow. Best place for a long lazy luncheon or romantic dinner.
La Tienda has a cozy atmosphere. Tuesday means wine and Sangria specials. Food was amazing. Some food items are more shareable than others. Paella was delicious.
Our group shared tapas and they were great. The waitress was excellent and took good care of us.
Great meal with neighbors. It was a great time until a boisterous group showed up and downed out all conversation. We enjoyed our chicken paella and fine wine though before the noise drove us to leave.
We shared eight different tapas amongst our group of 4. They were all great! Also excellent service.
Third time visiting the restaurant. Maybe it has run its course for us. The menu hasn't changed much and a couple of the tapas were simply not good. Tried to order a cocktail, they are 'down sizing' their bar selection. No vodka? Seriously? Sounds like they don't want to renew their liquor license, just beer and wine.
The food was delicious. We did have to wait a long time for the main dish which was still wonderful.
Best and most authentic paella around. Very intimate dining Highly recommend for a date night.
We had a very enjoyable meal with some neighbors. The pieta was exceptional along with the egg plant appetizer and wine. Bennie our waiter did a great job. Great Spanish meal. Thanks
Always delicious!
Food and sangrias were great. We had a last minute addition to our party and the hostess set up a table for us. I did try to call the restaurant beforehand, but their phone number on the website was out of date. New phone # is 757-808-5344.
I love this restaurant. Never disappointed. Great lunches, and dinners. Staff makes for a wonderful experience!
Very loud upon arrival. As tables left it got a little better. The food was average. Young server-very friendly but seemed to have limited knowledge of menu items and how to elaborate on descriptions.
Most disappointing was after spending over $250-we were rudely showed that it was time for us to leave by multiple employees coming into the room and staring at us and others shutting off exterior lighting. It was 9:15 when we ordered dessert and a second bottle of wine....we left the restaurant at 9:40. If you want to go home at 10:00-you should stop serving at 8:30.
We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday by dining here last night, and I had eaten here previously with great delight . Again, I was not disappointed, and my friend loved it.
The food is nicely prepared and delicious, and the service is very good.
Great for Tapas & drinks! I would recommend a reservation.
O. M. G. Better than Fat Canary, Waypoint, any restaurant in the Burg. Sensational food and presentation. Cannot wait to go back.
Everything was delicious, a little pricey for me though. Sangria was ok, not what I expected, a little too much red wine in it for my taste and not the fruity flavor we have in ours in Andalusia. My father used to put all the fruits in it and let them soaked through the night to get that nice fruity flavor. The food was good.
Food was excellent. Service was acceptable. Nice waiter, just not very personable.
Authentic Spanish tapas in the colonial capital. Excellent selection, fun atmosphere, great service.
We thought we'd try La Tienda since it offered vegetarian options for one in our party. That person was really looking forward to the vegetarian paella, but the restaurant forced the individual to order a large size, even though a lunch-sized portion was available (used to be offered at dinner we were told, but new ownership stopped the practice). That individual chose not to order the paella as it was a huge cost $40.00 and we all were visiting from out of town. In addition to that, the service was poor. The table was never cleared of plates as they became empty, common with tapas, never brought an order that was on our bill, but we were too frustrated to even ask to have it taken off and other foibles. The workers at the restaurant looked miserable and it showed in their service. We were told the restaurant recently changed hands. Perhaps the new owner wants to revisit their approach to make the experience better for patrons.
We had a wonderful dinner at La Tienda! A gem of a restaurant here in Williamsburg! We started with several tapas for our group of 4 and then shared a paella dish. Everything was wonderful as was the wine we paired with our meal! We will be back again soon!
Great food with a nice variety of choices
I would recommend a weekday reservation
I have been there several times for an early dinner around 5:30 during the weekend and it never fails to be a great place to dine. Two of us enjoy a glass of their wonderful Sangria and then split the shrimp tapas and the fried eggplant dish along with the olives and bread. It just the perfect amount, great flavors, etc. The only criticism is the noise or the lack of acoustics in the restaurant.
Always yummy. Tried tortilla with onion marmalade. Good but seemed more like onion aioli. Confusing. Butternut squash soup was delicious. Like the collaboration with Vinoculture
Great tapas and great service we really enjoyed the experience
Young lady at counter was not super warm when we arrived.
The food was delicious! Our favorite dish was the spinach salad with apples, crispy jamon, and sherry vinegarette. We also had the almond and orange torta, which was also amazing!
This was our second time at La Tienda, and our friends' first - love this place! We met our friends here as we are all going on a Spain/Portugal/Canary Islands cruise in July to celebrate 30th Wedding Anniversaries, so we thought we'd get a taste of more Spanish food and wine - definitely didn't disappoint! Carol was our server (for the second time) and made amazing recommendations for wines and tapas! Highly recommend it, and we will most definitely be back!
