Good was very good. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Just a bit pricey.
First time here and it was wonderful. Our server was attentive and food was hot.
Solid Italian restaurant. Portions are very large. Very little for vegetarians.
The food was wonderful however, our server (Justin T) had a bad and unfriendly attitude.
I don't know why we don't come here more often! This is a wonderful place with great food, atmosphere and service.
Wild Mushroom Risotto is wonderful! Loaded with mushrooms and veggies. Ravioli good but meatball served with it wasn't as large as we thought it would be. Wine over priced. Italian selection might have been better value but we aren't as familiar with those. Service was very good and they honored our seating preferences. Definitely would return. Enjoyed piano playing but it was quite loud until restaurant filled up. Liked selection played.
We received the table as requested, near the piano, and enjoyed the music very much. Food was good and service excellent.
Great place for authentic Italian food! Great atmosphere, piano music, pleasant staff.
The crust of the peach cobbler was very salty. Otherwise, everyone enjoyed their meals. Best eggplant parmagiana ever.
I brought a friend visiting from out of town thinking this would be old school Italian restaurant. The food was very disappointing. Bland, little flavor, like a microwaved meal. Wine list very limited and disappointing.
Right around the corner from Bridge Park, La Scala has been consistently good for almost 40 years now. Excellent service and a warm comfortable atmosphere. We eat there regularly and would recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Italian in the Dublin area.
Always Great Food!
The menu looks very good and my colleagues eggplant parmigiana was excellent. I had spaghetti and a meatball and the pasta was overcooked. Not terribly, but well past al dente. Had I not been overtired and in need of getting back to our hotel, I would have returned the dish. The flavors were good, the meatball was very good. The wine list was good as well.
We had a wonderful experience. Our server Nikhil was very friendly and knowledgeable. We started off with the fried mozzarella on the spring menu. I wish I would’ve taken a picture because it was very good. They had half priced bottles of wine. (Wednesday night). 🙌. I had the filet mignon Medium. It was cooked perfectly. My friends had a wood fired pepperoni pizza and the fried eggplant on the appetizer section. All very good. The piano player was amazing playing all sorts of music and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We will be back.
The food was better than the pictures portray. 🙂
Father's Day Dinner
Everything was wonderful everyone enjoyed their meal. The piano was a little loud we could not hear everyone at our table it was nice but play a little softer.💕
Billed as a location for a romantic dinner it was anything but that. The food was good but the waiter really rushed us the entire evening. As soon as the appetizer arrived the dinner was delivered before we were half way through the appetizer!!!
We had company from North Carolina and they joined us at La Scala. They loved the food as much as we did. The waitress did a great job but I think she was assigned too many tables at one time.
Food was so-so, thrown together quickly. I do not like condensation or water under my pasta as this is a sign of an inability to bring sauce and macaroni together to find a whole - needs to be addressed for a restaurant touting themselves as Italian!
Service was very good!
The waiter wasn’t very attentive and didn’t know anything about the wine menu. He was courteous and the service was quick, almost too quick. The food was really good.
Don’t be fooled by all the flashy new restaurants in Dublin , this place has been a mainstay for years and is still a great option for dinner , good food and prices .... half price bottles of wine on sundays help too
Excellent dining experience -- our waiter, Morgan, did an incredible job. The food was delicious and Morgan made sure that we had whatever we needed to enjoy our meal.
We're regulars, and we rediscovered this place after many years. We sit at the bar, to enjoy the company of the staff as well as other regulars and newbies. They know my cocktail order by heart and its a well made perfect gin martini. Great food, pasta, and woodfired pizzas. Nice comfortable vibe.
We have not been to LaScala for some time. As always food and service was exceptional. We will be back again soon.
Our experience was awful as soon as we walked in the door.
Hostest looked awful, poorly dressed, rude.
Server was not very good, lighting for our table was too bright.
Food was awful.
Service, food and ambiance were great. Enjoyed the piano player as well
Always good food and service. The Street Players were great, too!
Great 40 years Benny and my family go way back. Keep it up Love FatTony..
From beginning to end the best dining experience I have had in Dublin. Robbert was our waiter and he really made our night special. I highly recommend checking it out.
WE had a group of 7 and they easily accommodated us. Separate checks were no problem. There were lots of options as far as price and amount of food and it was a nice atmosphere.
From the moment we walked into La Scala we were greeted by a sm
Our party of 11 went to LaScala to celebrate my sister's birthday. The restaurant was able to accommodate our huge group/last-minute reservations without any issues. Our server was amazing - she didn't bat an eye at my noisy crew;). The food was also fantastic. I have a huge family and I think we're going to make LaScala our spot for special occasions!
Went for Mother’s Day brunch. It was outstanding. The homemade manicotti the homemade sausage and peppers made my mouth water then to top it off they had beef tenderloin which has to be my favorite meal of all time once again Lascala out did them self’s
Five of us had dinner on Mother’s Day, a very busy night for the restaurant. Things were a bit hectic/hurried, but the food was good. We’ll probably try La Scala again on a less busy night.
Bathrooms were out of order. A problem when you have someone who has to go to the bathroom. Had to take my daughter to Wendy’s down the street so she could go to the bathroom.
Timing on the food was off. Got our salad and a few minutes later our entrees were ready.
Bathroom were not working for 1 hours 😬
If we did not have business guest would have left!
Food and service were great as always however, none of the restrooms were in working.
We were seated right away for our reservations, but the service was slow. Servers were nice, but understaffed. Food was fair, but my salad was warm and soggy and that spoiled the whole meal. All the bathrooms in the restaurant were out of order, so due to the extra time we had to wait, my wife had to leave the restaurant to take our children to a fast food joint down the street to use the restrooms. We were looking for a nice Mothers Day dinner, but La Scala really missed the mark with that.
We made reservations for an early Mother's Day dinner for 4:30pm. We checked in 15 minutes early; they they said they had to get our table ready. Unfortunately, they then forgot about us. Then once we sat down, we were immediately given glasses of water; 2 out of 8 were dirty. Dirty meaning the glass still had lipstick marks around the rim and literal food particles in them. It appeared as if we were given two water glasses from the table of someone else. Unfortunately this was not noticed until someone in our party took a drink and she could taste the lipstick. We immediately told the waitress and she went to get us new glasses. She didn't seem very apologetic considering my sister-n-law just drank after someone else at the mistake of an employee. The bus boy then came over and offered an apology and said that the kitchen was very hectic. If it had been me tasting someone else's lipstick I would have immediately lost my appetite. We have eaten at this restaurant many times as it is my mother-n-law's favorite place to eat. I do believe that they were probably under staffed or just too busy. But I am very disappointed by the way our situation was handled. I believe the waitress should have offered my sister-n-law either a free meal or dessert or at the very least sent the manager over.
My Aunt found some type of plastic in her food, we told server and told her it was from the cheese on her pasta. He did bring her a new meal, but no apology and I would have thought the manager would have at least come over and checked on us. She didn’t see the plastic until it was in her mouth and she pulled it out. I’m just glad she did not choke on it !
