Food was good and served by pleasant staff. The musician was enjoyable, but, with small crowd, the volume made conversation difficult.
We were there for Easter brunch and were pretty disappointed. Our reservations were at 2:30pm. As guests finished their meals & left, the staff bused and striped the empty tables all around us. This made it feel like we were keeping the staff there after hours, just 15 minutes into our meal. Not a great feeling. The food in the buffet line looked very picked over and partially empty. The lasagna was very good but everything else was just ok. I’m not sure why they would book reservations for 2:30pm if they were trying to close up at the same time. When we went up for desert there were only a couple options left out to choose from. Very disappointing overall. Finally the air conditioning was on so high that we felt a strong breeze blowing directly on us. We felt really cold even with sleeves and jackets. We mentioned it to our server and she thankfully had the blower turned down.
Easter brunch was wonderful. The food was delicious . Would have liked possibly a fish dish and a different pasta dish on the buffet.
The food was very good and there were plenty of selections. The lasagna could have had a bit more flavor and not everything was as warm as I would have liked, but after all - it's a buffet. Everyone from the chef to the owner were very friendly and welcoming. The server, Tracey, was excellent! Everything worked well for a holiday brunch for our family of 14-79 years old.
Husband and I had a wonderful dinner celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. Everything was
excellent. And Thank you for the free ice cream dessert. Thank goodness we split it as we your both very
stuffed and still had part of out meal to take home.
Wedding anniversary, great evening to celebrate. Food and atmosphere was great!
Awesome food! Definitely a place to visit again and again!
The daily luncheon buffet is the best deal in town both price wise and the number of offerings on the buffet. $11.
Nice place to take the family for a meal. Lots of menu choices. The manicotti was delicious. Great Caesar salad. nice specialty drink menu. The Kentucky Lemonade was a bit to ice forward. The gnocchi were a bit mushy. Great NY strip! Cooked and seasoned perfectly.
very comfortable place with adequate and easy parking. great service with great food and wine.
Our overall experience at La Scala was good. I would not put this up to being the best because it was not. I ordered pasta and requested that it would not be drowned in sauces and when we received it it was almost off the plate. Ordered the Tiramisu for dessert and was expecting a "square" piece but it looked like it was scooped with a large serving spoon. I don't think we will be going back soon unless it's a last minute "get together" and other places are booked up
We went here for our birthday, had an amazing waitress and food is always excellent!
Have lived in Columbus 19 years but first time to La Scala. Live downtown and usually eat there. Drove past 20 great restaurants to try out La Scala. Terrible service, 20 min to get drinks and 1.5 HOURS TO ORDER DINNER. Waiter Joe should never be a waiter, he provided terrible service. Could not find him and had to get up out of our seats to find him to pay AFTER BEING THERE 3 HOURS!! Veal scalopini was OK, but risotto was too salty to even eat. Only good thing our group of 4 could say was the drinks were inexpensive. Unlikely to go back.
By far the best Italian food i have ever had and i have even spent a good amount of time in Italy
The gnocchi was too soft, which meant it was overcooked. For a high scale restaurant, the fact that our drinks got to the empty on more than 1 occasion was discouraging. Also, $9 for a super basic kids meal was obsurd. I will not be eating at La Scala again.
We were very pleased with everything including the food, waiter. and the whole enviorment. the pianoist choice of songs was great and full of memories for us. Thank-you so much for everything. It was a great way to celebrate my birthday.
Good dinner. However, there was no mention from staff about our anniversary. My wife and I clearly stated on the OpenTable app that we were celebrating our anniversary.
We did not expect a free hand out. However, most establishments would acknowledge your anniversary.
Why ask if it is not followed up on?
Taste and quality of food was wonderful. Very attentive service.
Loved the pianist during dinner
Great food and service. Only issue: the tables were close together and I had to keep adjusting every time someone walked by.
We really enjoy the dining atmosphere at La Scala's. The food was great and our server was wonderful.
The $35 3 course special is a great deal. We get it everything and take half of the food home to make a second meal out of it!
It makes for a great evening with a piano quietly playing in the background while you enjoy wonderful Italian meals. Great for families and groups.
Risso entry was very salty. Italian dessert was 2 scoops of cake soaked in Rum. Normally we get the lemon veal and it is usually very good.
It’s such a beautiful place.and food is outstanding and hot.she treats us very nice. Thank you very much.
Great food, huge portions
Food, service, and piano music were great. Would definitely return.
We decided to go early for Happy Hour, the bar staff were not particularly friendly and asking about happy hour was like pulling teeth. As the restaurant was not busy you would think they would be happy to welcome people. We remembered this is why we haven't been there in awhile as same thing happened when we went a couple of years ago. Once we were seated at table service and food were good
My husband and I both had ravioli. It was excellent, except his was hot and mine was only lukewarm. Disappointing, but we told our server and she immediately took it back to the kitchen. We love La Scala since they first opened and will continue to shine there.
The waiter was not organized and seem preoccupied with other matters.
He did not use a tray to bring out the glasses of wine and bread and held the wine glasses against his body to bring to the table.
The food was good (veal and eggplant parmigiana). We ordered salad, but the waiter never brought them out. When we finished our meal we were never asked if we cared for dessert.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and piano music. We have had much better service in the past.
We chose to come here for a family event that included an elderly relative, a couple picky eaters, and those who really enjoy great food. Everyone was happy. The service was attentive, the menu had items that satisfied everyone's palate and the price was appropriate. It has been a while since we were there (we live on the other side of town), but we will definitely be back.
The experience was great. The food was superb. The piano playing across the room really made the atmosphere perfect.
This was the first time at La Scalia in many years. We went in search of a good meat-free dinner on a Lenten Friday. I had intended to order the grouper but spotted linguine with clam sauce. The menu description included cream and I asked that it be prepared without cream. Both the server and the kitchen were very accommodating. The dish was well prepared and nicely flavored with more than a dozen cherry stone clams in their shells.
Excellent food, large portions and excellent service. Quickly becoming one of our favorite restaurants!
This was our first time visiting but definitely will not be our last. Service was exceptional! $35 for a full appetizer, choice of entree and desert was way too much food. Took half of our entrees home.
I have paid more at other restaurants for a full meal that was less food than the meatball appetizer.
You know it was good when we are talking about the restaurant the next day.
We liked the food very much, even if a little pricey. The waiter was ok but not a lot of personality.
We were seated at table that wobbled, then moved to a table where the light overhead our table was burned out. I didn't complain about it, but I didn't like it.
Enjoyed my dinner and the staff it was our 32nd anniversary
This is our restaurant of choice prior to half marathon races in the Columbus area. Always great food.
Was a nice place to eat great food and atmisfear. Would highly recommand it.
