We Believe that food is a conversation of life and want to recreate that dialogue through our ingredient-focused menu. Specializing in gourmet tacos, La Prensa offers an escape from the ordinary taco joint with an approachable and globally inspired menu featuring fresh ingredients with our signature adventurous mindset. The inspiration behind La Prensa came from studying the art and craft of the skilled cooks and chefs who have used the Prensa de Tortilla for generations. The skills they have passed down have allowed us to create delicious food.     Please join a 2 hour cocktail making class hosted by our house mixologist. The class begins with a tequila and mezcal tasting. You will learn how to differentiate between blanco, reposado, anejo, and cristalino tequila as well as mezcal. Followed by your choice of 2 tacos. In the last portion of the class you will learn how to make 3 different types of margaritas. And of course you will also get to enjoy them!

    Anbiance was basic comfort, the chairs probably belong in a conference hall vs. at a restaurant table, comfort-wise. Food wise, there’s were definite misses and some good items. Misses: Al pastor taco did not mention pork belly on the menu, yet that was most of the portion. This was off putting: I’ve never experienced this, having eaten this dish all around the Americas. Meat please, not fat. Montadito de Serrano was drowning in the balsamic reduction, and served cold. This completely obliterated the Serrano ham flavor. Most tapas joints serve this warm, and no balsamic anything, favoring olive oil, and salt. The bread and ham should have starred here, and they were bit players. Croquetas de Jamon were too heavy on bechemel, and the ham was hard to even taste because it was so sparse. Temperature good, shell crisp. Good: The yucca fries were machine cut, which yielded a beautifully consistent cook. The accompanying aioli was on point. Patatas Bravas offered pimenton heat without being too assertive. A cheese melted on top was non traditional, and just didn’t add much to the story. The Sopapillas were great, served with a delicious ice cream and fresh whipped cream, a strawberry reduction and chocolate drizzle, with just enough cinnamon. If you are selective at this restaurant, you can do well. I would advise the team take a field trip to Jaleo in DC to know how to make their middling dishes really shine. That is my ultimate measure for all tapas worldwide.

    Very good food, and drinks very decent prize. Service was also very good, did not have any troubles. Overall a great experience, definitely would recommend to someone to try it.

    Great food and service. Credit card fee is annoying and will probably impact tips, which isn’t fair for staff and unfortunately will impact choice when we love their food.

    Excellent warm, friendly, inviting service and atmosphere from manager Andrew G. Everything from cocktails to appetizers to main course tasted freshly prepared. The guacamole tasted fresh and flavorful. The margaritas were equally superb (could it be they make the agave?) We shared an order of the combination fajitas which left just enough room for the guava cheesecake. An outstanding meal. Worth our 20 minute drive: Chef Santosh and his crew have earned our future repeat business!

    We made a reservation for their Valentine's Day special menu. When we arrived it was packed and there's basically nowhere to stand or really check-in. We told one person we had a reservation, but they didn't really do anything . We were able to sit at the bar, so we figured to order a drink while we waited. The bartender didn't even look up, but he kept pouring shots for a couple guys at the bar, and so we sat there without a drink surrounded by dirty dishes for about 45-50 minutes. We saw they sit folks that just walked in, so we had to say something for the 3rd time, which then they finally sat us. Food was good, but their service before sitting was terrible. There was no point making a reservation. Price was a bit high for the amount of food.

    I looked up Tapas restaurants near me and La Prensa came up. The reviews looked good so I booked a semi-large party (10 ppl). The atmostphere is casual and prices were reasonable. Everyone raved about the food and the service was wonderful. A couple of people had the octopus dish (cannot remeber the name of it), and they raved about it! I had some of the tappas and everything was absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough - please give it a go!

    Great food. One minor issue - the print on the menu is TINY. Otherwise service was great, friendly and efficient.
