What didn’t go wrong here? First they sat us, a table of two, next to a party of 8 in the corner inside. We couldn’t hear each other. Their table designs make sense aesthetically and for the space but not for a date. Long narrow tables. We had to move outside to a 4-top type of table that had a bench seat. This was much better. The food was subpar at best and considering prices, not at all worth it. The oysters were bland and tiny at $6ea. The guacamole was flavorless. Considering what we ordered: guacamole, 4 oysters, a margarita, and a la Reina (gin and prickly pear, the low-low price of $90 seemed wild considering the quality of the food. The aesthetics of the location was sweet but considering all the hype on social media regarding how delicious the food is, I just don’t get it. Neither myself, nor my date, enjoyed it and we won’t ever be going back.

Amazing food. Second time coming here and I think it’s just a perfect place to take people visiting. Didn’t have a bad thing - we ordered the ribeye and snapper. Snapper was the best I’ve ever had

La Piscina was quite disappointing. Unfortunately, the food was incredibly overpriced for below average food. I’m a huge foodie and don’t mind spending on food if it’s delicious, but this was not it. It appears that the ritzy people of Austin who don’t have a palette for quality Mexican food frequent this location. You’re essentially paying for the ambiance, which I might add that the restaurant did not have working AC and made the experience very uncomfortable and sweaty. I highly recommend Suerte in East Austin as a far better dining experience.

The food, service, vibes were awesome. A little pricey, but the food matched the price. Inside was a bit loud with the DJ playing by the pool, so we sat outside. Can’t wait to come back!
