Anyone who has not been to Argentina before can get a comprehensive picture of the country flavours at the La Pampa Steakhouse in Budapest, where you can tase 11 premium quality steaks from 4 other countries, accompanied by more than 200 wines.

We await our guests with the largest Malbec selection in the country along with other wines from Argentina, Chile, New Zealand and different New World and items from the deservedly famous Old-World wine regions.

Food: The meat was cooked on point, but the quality (tenderness, marbling and also pre-cut fat from rump-steak) was mediocre. The side dishes were either overcooked (presumably 'steamed" vegetables were soft and mushy) or 'simple' convenience products that every food stall or fast food chain would use as well (fries, onion rings, etc.) The biggest flaw was the cuttlery, especially the 'steak-knife' which was blunt and with a short serration instead of a plain but sharp edge, which really 'hurt' my 'meat-loving' heart... Service: The staff were all 'smiles', but too rough and seemingly fake (or maybe just stressed) to really create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Instead of being knowledgeable about a suitable wine accompaniment, the waiter literally rushed us before we were even seated and gave us a tablet to 'self-service' our choice of wine, before we even had a chance to look at the menu and our soon-to-be dishes, leading to a 'forced' choice of the wine before even knowing or selecting the food... Ambience: We (4 P.) were seated in the back of the location, which had nice decoration and a beautiful chandelier, but unfortunately the humid air presumably bad ventilation) and dark/dim lighting was hard to bear. Additionally, it was impossible to converse at a normal volume, as 3 (of the 4-5 other groups of guests) were very loud (and obviously 'drunk/smashed') stag parties, which all in all ruined the dinner experience for us.

We had a Reservation for a Birthday. It seemed it was a surprise that we entered the Restaurant, no Reservationcard on a table. The Restaurant and Toilet were not that clean. The Food was very good, chimmichurri was special, never had that that way. Pooring wine is part of the waitersjob. I don‘t think that is common in Budapest. Overall it was ok, not fabulous.

I had an amazing dinner yesterday at La Pampa Steakhouse in Budapest. The atmosphere was elegant, the service was warm and professional, and the food—especially the steak—was absolutely outstanding. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly top-quality meat. Great sides, excellent wine selection, and a team that genuinely cares about your experience. One of the best steakhouses in the city—highly recommended!

Food was good especially the starters (empanadas and cheese board). The steaks were tasty but well undercooked. We probably should have said something but we asked for medium-rare and they were more like blue/rare. Big portions. The card machine was down so everyone had to pay in cash. This meant a visit for the ATM machine and 15% charge for this due to being international. This made the meal way more expensive than it needed to be. The service was good.
