La Noria Bistro
Great place
We had a very good time at La Noria Bistro! The staff was welcoming and friendly. Upon entering the first room was empty due to the cold winter evening but once in the anterooms, the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The menu, though similar to the sister restaurant next door, offered a few differences, especially in the preparation by La Noria's kitchen. The calamari appetizer was exceptional, a simple style and presentation. Our main dishes were very good as well, especially the lake perch with lemon & caper sauce! We'll be back for brunch and dinner!
Love the dining experience. I did not love the lasagna. Next time I will try something else.
It was a great spot, we went with a group. We loved the margaritas, service, food and place. Delicious! My favorite: the Clamari and salad. The Poblano pasta was delicious but too hot for me. My husband had Fajitas and he really enjoyed them. Everyone in the group enjoyed the clean, good and well presented food.
Bad: We were sitting for dinner next to a door to the patio. People kept going out & in to smoke and letting the January 15 F wind coming in. :(
I felt the menu resembled their sister restaurant next door
Overall experience was great. Service left something to be desired. Drinks took very long, guest meals did not come out at the same time. Bottle of wine didn’t come until after dinner.
Awesome food. Unique and interesting menu. Cool drinks. Fresh seafood and pasta. Very delightful meal.
I’ve been to this restaurant several times and a sister restaurant many many times. The food is always great and the service is always terrific
Our server was not good at all. We had a confusing exchange over how I wanted my food and over wine they didn’t have and then did have. Yes confusing. Food was good though and I’d go back and hope for someone that listened more and understood what the customer wants.
Great food, great service at a reasonable price. Just wish it was closer.
La Noria is our new favorite restaurant!
Loved loved loved great menu, great meal and will be back soon
This restaurant is apparently owned by the place next door and has a lot of handwritten signs. Parking was down a back alley in a big lot. They do have some Italian dishes on the menu, but it was actually mostly Hispanic food listed. The prices were fairly high for the portion size and location. If I knew that this was not truly an Italian restaurant, I probably would have just done next door for "Mexican" food!
LOVED our dining experience at La Noria Fabulous selection to choose from Huge portions Excellent wait staff. Noise level was just perfect you could carry on a conversation Definitely will return
owned by el barzon. similar menu. service a bit slow.
The reviews were very good. And we enjoyed elbarzon. But we were very pleasantly surprised it was just as good and better than the reviews. Loved it
Great place!! Food and service are always fantastic here!! Very recommended!!
The Lobster Spaghetti was fabulous, as was the Sangria! All four of us loved our dinners! Can't wait to return!!
Excellent Italian and Mexican food. Tried new food- mole sauce was outstanding. Drink menu is fun too!
We dined here for our anniversary and the food and service was very good. They served us a delicious anniversary slice of cake to share
Shared the Hawaiian pizza, La Noria antipasto Salad, and some tacos. All were very good. The pizza is thin crust style, and was very tasty. We loved the authentic tacos as an appetizer, and were an excellent value at $2.50 each. The salad was delicious made with heirloom tomatoes, sliced mozzarella and shrimp. Had reserved the patio, but it was closed, so dined inside, which was very quaint, and our server was attentive. We will definitely be back again, and would reccomend this unique resturant.
Server didn't refill water pitcher, didn't ask how the food was, didn't provide us with dessert menus upon request, side of broccolini had RUBBER BAND around stalk. No discount was placed on bill like manager said. I just paid it and left. The food was on par with every generic place in the city.
the only thing is that they charge for ice tea refills
I'm a big ice tea drinker
Great food, if you like El Barzon, you’ll love La Noria. Italian items are outstanding.
Tacos were great. Wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable.
The food was very well priced! We had a lovely meal with a very nice server! The food was delicious and came out very quickly. The restaurant was a bit understaffed and could use some work on the ambiance but the building itself is very cool. I suggest a sign outside or something- it was hidden. Must compete with the restaurant next door- La Noria is not as great but much more affordable. If they stepped up their game it would be a new Detroit hotspot.
The goat tacos are life changing!
Our waitress,Rosa, was very attentive and helpful. the food was fantastic and the sangria was wonderful!
We dined here on Saturday, July 7th. The atmosphere was nice. Both pizza's had too much cheese but the crust of each was good! The waitress, while very nice, couldn't answer questions I had about wine. The bartender didn't help her much based on the answer she provided our waitress to give to us. The manager was very attentive but has his work cut out for him. I was disappointed bc I expected much more. Btw, I've never written a bad review so I take it seriously.
Food wasn’t good. We were only group in restaurant.
The food was really bad, pizza was oil, most the Mexican dishes were dry. Guacamole had no flavor! Overall food was really bad, will not be going again.
La Noria Bistro is now on our favorites list. The service and staff were awesome, attentive and provided excellent suggestions. We started the meal with the onion soup, a delicious soup with an interesting twist. We wanted to try the tacos so we had the open-faced marinated pork tacos on corn tortillas - excellent flavor highlighted with onions and cilantro and only $2.50. Our entree was the mole dobladas and hands-down the best mole sauce with a complex but bright flavor. And a sizable portion so we were able to take home uneaten portions. Lastly, we had flan for dessert as a nice cool, flavorful ending and not too big. We did not have cocktails (opted for beer) but clearly they have a fully stocked bar with multiple tequilas and other liquor. We can't wait for our next visit and the chance to try the pizzas.
Mexican + Italian, all in one place? Yes, and it's awesome. The hardest part is deciding which to pick. I had the chicken mole, my date had the chicken parmesan. Both were outstanding. It's the best chicken parmesan I've ever had -- no exaggeration. Can't wait to go back!
Fantastic service and the food portions were perfect! Also, the cocktails were extremely well made, which is a rarity in restaurants these days.
We were told upon arriving there was no alcohol being served. It would have been nice to know before heading out that way from downtown. Food was pretty good otherwise.
We dined at LaNoria on Cinco de mayo so it was pretty lively! There was a special menu that night The food was good but I was looking forward to a salmon dish that got great reviews and it wasn’t on the menu!
We loved the mariachi band and will go back for the regular menu soon
We went on Cinco de mayo, Rosie was our waitress she was very nice. We ordered tacos and drinks.. my first drink at the bar was great.. tequila with OJ & fruit! Yum! the tacos were cold and dry.. it took an hour after ordering the food to receive it and it was dried out and cold..ugh. Then i ordered the margarita once we were at the table, it was was very weak, mostly margarita mix and it was sour and i had to order a shot of alcohol just to make it taste descent. The live band was great.. the staff was nice but the food was “just ok”.
