La mar accommodated our delayed guests by shifting our reservation. Everyone was lovely, even though it was clearly peak pandemic weekend outdoor lunch. We had our favorite server, and all the food was excellent, deliciously prepared, beautifully arranged, as always. One of our favorites in this city!
I had lunch with my cousin and everything was really awesome. Excellent fresh cuisine and excellent service :)
What an amazing experience! The food here is extremely well done and tastes just like I was in Peru again! Great place with a great view and ambiance.
It was great but our waiter was a little condescending and when we asked if the bartender can make us pina colada he said we should go to hawaii for that and it may have been a joke but usually bartenders will make it happen and make us any drink we want.. he didn’t even ask the bartender to make it for us.. anyway my favorite were the nigiri platter especially the wagyu beef with quail egg. The rest was ok and the drink we got which was the spicy melon tasted like mango. Idk maybe la mar had an off night.. other nights ive been there has been good.
Amazing outdoor Dinning deck with view to the bay. Great to refresh your mind with a cocktail in the sunshine during the pandemic!
Everything in here is delicious! I recommend the Tres leches for dessert.
Wonderful sitting out on the patio and enjoying delicious food and excellent service from Enrique!
Fabulous restaurant for outside dining in this Covid 19 world. However will be much better when indoor dining opens.
Food is some of SF's best.
Flavors are sensational!
Street side dining is terrible, cold and windy. It doesn’t work for evening dining.
Will never go back. Awful service and not by the waiters, they were actually great. The person who greeted us, a manager, was very rude and made us feel unwelcome from the start. He said his name was Corillo and I gave him our feedback. The first thing he said to us was not welcome but that it’s a an hour and a half limit at the table, which even if that’s the policy should not be the first thing that’s said, his tone was very rude. Then immediately after the waiter cleared our table and didn’t even pick up the card to pay for the bill, he came up to our table and said we overstayed our time limit and need to leave. I felt awful for picking this spot for my husband’s birthday. No class.
Another lovely al fresco dinner. The waterside patio is the better of the outdoor dining spaces. Try to sit at one of the tables closer to the water if possible too.
We devoured all of the food and drinks. The complimentary taro chips and dipping sauce are always a winner. The ceviche and salmon belly were super fresh. The roquitas and limeña were also very delicious. We enjoyed it all!
Was a perfect lunch for a birthday celebration.
Gina, was perfecto.
Can’t wait to return for more delicious food.
Thank you
The food was excellent and matched the price. I had a lovely dinner --the outdoor seating was spacious and had ample heating. I did notice lots of boxes and supplies stacked on tables & chairs inside the restaurant. While I do understand that the operation is only currently outdoor dining & severely limited by COVID restrictions, I think it's fair to expect that the guest spaces are tidied up during service. It is after all, a higher end restaurant. The bathroom might need some attention too (the women's room was oddly dim), and some background music would be nice. Other than that I had a lovely experience dining at the wharf. Enjoyed the food, and the service, and will definitely come back for special occasions.
Since we're restricted to outdoor dining, we might as well dine somewhere we actually want to be outside -- like right along the waterfront on the Embarcadero. Beautiful spot with a warm patio right on the water. The food was excellent, as was the service. The Rotunda used to be my go-to for date lunches in the City, but this place is definitely in contention to become our new top spot for destination lunches.
We love dining at La Mar, there is always something new to try, and the quality is always consistent and excellent!
Great food, great service !!!! One of my favorite restaurants.
Food was awesome but pricey for what you get! Most upsetting part was our meals were served to another unmasked group before being served to us. This is unacceptable in general let alone during Covid.
The food was good from appetizers to the main dishes. It’s so good my husband is already planning for his birthday there in April.
Best seafood restaurant in San Francisco! The ceviche and pisco sour are a must try!
2nd time there love it! I make sure to go every time I m in SF
Really fresh sea food. The crab ceviche is impossible to explain it tasted so good. I highly recommend
Came to celebrate friend’s birthday. Decided to cut lunch short and left after appetizers because we felt we weren’t receiving any service.
This was my second time here and I I have to say the food just keeps on getting better, Another reason why I came back was due to the customer service.
We didn’t have to wait much for the food, The staff is so attentive and respectful. The overall ambience of this place is great.
I would normally not pay so much for a dinner experience but this place is so worth it and I will pay more if I had to!
Amazing drinks and food. The only issue was the heating lamps were decorative and did not actually heat the area.
Waited half an hour over the reservation time another couple was mad but they handled it well food is good and portions were nice rated four stars due to long wait for reservation
great seafood; always very fresh; will go back often
Menu has changed and prices were exhorbitant. Pasta for $45?? Was hard to find an entree under $40 and we’ve eaten here many times becore for a much smaller total bill. Three of us had one matgarita each and basic entrees and bill with tip was about $80 per person. Ridiculous. Usually have always gotten two drinks each and asded appetizers for that amount. Price goughing at it’s best.
Even as vegetarians, we love our visits to La Mar. Flavorful food, nice seaside location, friendly service. Definitely try the tequila cocktails (El Cholito and El Vulcan), and if you like spicy food, ask to try their spicy sauce with the already delicious taro chips.
great food, service and beautiful outside area! Highly recommend.
Beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the Bay. Great ambience for a special ocasion! Thr Arroz Norteno is a must try! The staff is friendly and lots of heaters to keep everyone warm.
La Mar is a special place for us, the first Peruvian restaurant we ate at. A bit pricey, but worth it. On a budget, going there every other month is affordable and gives us a chance to enjoy La Mar’s season specials. The staff are always courteous and attentive. We enjoyed the crab sanguiche, ceviches, empanadas, and chocolate cake for dessert. And the huancaina sauce is phenomenal. I own two of chef Acurio’s books, and it only inspires me to try my hand at the hundreds of his recipes. A great teacher, humanitarian, and culinary icon. Thanks La Mar!
Always dependable, consistent yummy food. Great staff and service. The pork adobo was the best that I've ever had.
Wow. The food was above and beyond. Highly recommend first time customers get the experiencia la mar. It’s amazing! Aside from that the staff was so nice and accommodating, they were making sure we were well taken care of and showed the utmost respect towards us. Would 100% return at a future date.
Food and service was amazing. Our first time here and will definitely be back!!!
It was a friends birthday They took the box of cake I was carrying offered to refrigerate it. Mario was wonderful- very attentive. Food was delicious!
Lovely dinner on a beautiful February evening! The patio is such a great space. The heat lamps kept us warm and there’s plenty of ventilation. The food was excellent! All of the dishes were delicious, especially the 2 pastas- Dungeness crab ravioli and Dungeness crab linguini. It felt almost like Before Times. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
The food and service was fantastic ! We felt cer
The food, cocktails and service here are all fantastic. I would eat here every day if it wouldn't break the bank. Prices are among the most expensive city but definitely recommend this restaurant for special night out.
The restaurant has security measures against COVID-19. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks are very good.
Limo saltado was awesome!!
