Service was sloooooow
Out waiter George was awesome. The design was flawless and the meal was outstanding. Will visit again soon.
Restaurant was a little too dark and loud. The food was very good. The service was spot on.
The menu is a bit simple but the food is very good and the service was great.
This was my second time here. The first time was amazing. So this time I brought my parents who usually only cook at home. They weren’t very hungry when we arrived and they still ate everything because “everything was delicious” we ordered a bit of everything and it was the right move. Will keep coming back here.
Great menu, service and ambiance and teen/tween friendly.
Delicious. Great service. Lots of windows and sunlight.
Excellent; except is hard to talk due to music being loud.
Food too spicy, shrimp dumplings- told were not hot
Wine & champagne list sparse
Food was great. Waiter very capable and attentive but not intrusive. A nice space.
Per usual, everything was great. My chicken was a little burned, but was salvageable (wasn't worth ruining the night over). We really love the fusion of different flavors, and the crawfish boudin were amazing. Thinking of buying a bunch and freezing lol. Great atmosphere in an eccentrically styled restaurant. We'll be back!
The cheeseburger is a must
Great food, fantastic service.
The fried chicken was amazing! The crab claws were delicious. The wine menu is a little small. And the service was slow. But would go back again for the food.
We had a great time thanks to Luis. He took great care of us and had some great stories to share. Picking and choosing items to share was fun.
The food was absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend sharing. We had the crab fingers, shrimp dumplings, and fried chicken and shrimp. The dumplings were perfectly spicy without being overly hot, the chicken was perfection - a crispy thick crust without a hint of greasiness - and the fried shrimp was some of the best in Houston, hands down. Don’t miss the banana pudding for dessert ... better than your grandmother’s!!
Love it there! One of our fav restaurants.
Our server for the evening was spectacular. I believe her name was Miranda.
Great service, delicious food. Ambiance was laid back yet elegant. Great place for drinks after work or dinner date. Definitely get the fried chicken and the pharmacy burger. The cornbread was delicious as well
Excellent!! Food was delicious and service was great. Will definitely be dining here again and again.
It was delicious! Such a fun place for a date night. The fried chicken was incredible and paired it with an inexpensive sparkling Cava. The charbroiled oysters were also great
Every bite at LaLucha is special. The fried chicken, shrimp and the sauces are so good! The shishito peppers are great. The bar service matches anyone in town. Our server was great. This was our fourth trip in from Katy just to dine at La Lucha!!
Cool atmosphere and unique menu. Not plant-based friendly and quite expensive but it was a fun experience and service was great
Great and p
Just don't sit at the bar. It is a leaking AC unit that drips on you.
Made a reservation for 7:30pm and didn’t get seated at our table until 7:45/7:50pm. The place is really cute but really small, limited dining. It was very dark lighting but our service and food was amazing. Only complain would be the size of the dining area and the wait time. Had the snapper ceviche, dad’s daiquiri, and the fried chicken. Both meals were shared by two and plenty of food.
I am so in love with this little gem! All around great experience. Everything we had was phenomenal!
Wow, everything was remarkable. From the warm ambiance to the every bite of food, this was the complete package. Major shout out to Mo for excellent service from start to finish. She made the experience special.
The food was delicious, very generous portions. I really enjoyed the ambiance and the decor and general vibe of the restaurant. The service was really slow however, we were there for over two hours for a simple fried chicken dinner and dessert. Our server checked in once every 30 minutes or so. We sat after finishing our entrees for about 20-30 minutes before our plates were cleared and then another 20-30 minutes for our dessert to come out. Other tables seemed to be getting faster service as others who sat down after we already had our entrees were then promptly brought their dessert, paid and left before our plates were even cleared.
The food at La Lucha is phenomenal. I really enjoyed the parm and garlic oysters and the fried chicken! The shishito peppers are also amazing. Truly some of the best food I have had in Houston. The service was very good but nothing outstanding. The cocktail I had was just okay, so I am looking forward to going back and trying something different. Highly recommend.
Dinner at LaLucha is like an evening at good friends' eclectic yet chic industrial loft—low cocktail tables and larger (but not too large) dining tables, 1970s comfy cane back armchairs (sure we once had those in our dining room), Oriental rugs and low-wattage lighting. Service was attentive and friendly if a bit uneven. Both appetizers and mains came out individually for our party of two. We chose the Restaurant Week menu, which was quite a bargain considering regular a la carte prices and included wood roasted oysters (smoky and delicious) for a $5 supplement and the famous crispy fried chicken served with biscuits, peach jam and a dipping sauce of your choice. I had the Pharmacy Burger because I think you learn all you need to know about a restaurant by their burgers. This one was a delicious mess—crispy burger melding into the cheese, tomato, pickles, onion, mustard and super-soft bun. I ate it all and licked the paper. Skinny fries, generous in portion, were a bit too salty for my taste. The best dessert bet (Restaurant Week or not) is the $5 Nutella soft-serve—a delightful swirl of pale chocolate-hazelnut flavor piled high on the plate. Very refreshing after all that La Lucha richness. I'm saying this place is a winner.
Your hostess seems to
The menu is smaller for food, while 2/3rds of the menu has their drinks. Although there is a smaller selection for food, the food is excellent. Service was excellent too! This has more of a lounge environment to enjoy your drinks and chat.
Amazing food, service & drinks. Will definitely be back!
We went for HRW and will be back. Everything tasted great and the fried chicken is the best!
One of the best meals I've had in couple years. Everything had great flavor.
The fried chicken was outstanding as usual. My first disappointment came when we found out that the corn on the cob that we usually order was taken off of the menu. We decided to order the crab fingers to make up for the corn. I feel like I was completely robbed. The crab fingers were $15 and there were only 5 of the tiniest crab claws that I have ever seen. The five that we received had barely any meat on them. I'm from Louisiana and am aware of what crab claws are. For $15, I was expecting WAY more claws than the 5 tiny ones that we received. Go here for the chicken...but don't waste your money on the crab claws. Lesson learned, I will be asking the server how much food I will actually get before ordering anything else on their menu.
Limited menu, but what they are known for is on point. Keep it simple!
