   This was our second visit at this new location. The first time, we sat in the bar and were not impressed with food nor service. Tried it again before a play in the area. The dining room is beautiful. Service was good. Our reservations were at 5pm for 4. We had drinks, dinner and dessert. At 6;45, the manager came and told us they had 7pm reservations for our table and we needed to leave. We were about to leave, just finishing up, but were so taken back, we promptly left. We dine out frequently and that is the first time that has ever happened to us. It was embarrassing, and we will not be back. Food was okay, but not exceptional.

   It was one of the best experiences we have had in Houston! Went for our anniversary. We added La Griglia to our date night list! We will be back!

   We visited this restaurant twice, and both times were disappointed by the service. Our server spoke limited English, was unfamiliar with the wine, cocktail, and drink menus, and didn’t know basic terms like "aioli." When we asked for help reviewing the menu, he misunderstood and simply asked if we were ready to order. Some communication was difficult. Our drinks arrived after our appetizers, which was frustrating. While the food itself was delicious, the poor service — especially at the high prices they charge — made the overall experience not worth it.

   We made dinner reservations for after the theater. The site offered us a reservation at 11pm. We arrived shortly after 10:30 and were seated in just a few minutes. However, the server then told us that we had to order quickly because the kitchen was closing. We felt quite rushed. If we had arrived at the time of the reservation, I am not sure we would have been able to order. We have eaten here many times. It is one of the nicest outdoor dining venues in Houston. The food is always very good and we usually encounter very attentive service. This was an extremely disappointing exception.

   This is a great restaurant, the ambience is buzzy and fun. Cocktails were very good and the starters were excellent. However the fish entrees were both over cooked. My husband's mushroom lasagna was amazing. I'm not sure if this was just an off night but I would definitely go back for another try.

   The food and service were excellent but the music level was too loud and annoying. We were some of the only people in the dining room and the music sound track was almost entirely Frank Sinatra and very loud. We asked the staff to turn it down and they did but not near enough. When we go there with friends to have a nice dinner and talk we don't want to be bombarded with New York New York etc. The parking is also a hassle as we had to wait a good while for valets.

    Our waiters were incredibly rude and unhelpful from beginning to end. We were not aware that only brunch was being served until 3 which was disappointing. However, we ordered drinks and appetizers at 2 pm and ordered from the dinner menu at 3. Our "for the table" bruschetta appetizer was delicious, but required some sort of bread to go with it. We were told that this was "not something that was done" during brunch. What? We were supposed to spoon the cheese? This made no sense. For dinner orders, The servers offered no assistance with the menu questions. In fact their "old time" attitude was strangely out of place in the new, vibrant La Griglia atmosphere. One of our guests discovered their fish entree had been changed from flounder to something else. Another guest ordered Veal Limone which was delicious, but it was clearly an entree for two (although the quantity was not explained to us). It was an expensive Easter event and I only wish the memory included a higher level of gracious, polite service.
