Outside dining was awesome. It was warm and beautiful with the lights. We felt like we were in Europe!!

Hss become our pre-lockdown tradition...unfortunately. The outdoor seating is fantastic. Great food and service as always. We have to keep these local institutions alive during tall this!

WE had a lovely dinner to celebrate a family birthday. The food was delicious and our server was kind and very good at his job. We let him know that our young daughters are in French school, learning French and he offered to speak with them in French only so they could practice. La Gare has done a good job of creating a safe, outdoor eating space; we were warm enough with the heat lamps. Also really appreciated their incredible reasonable wine list. Will come back for sure.

Amazing, everything felt so welcoming and definitely an experience I’ll cherish forever. We will return without a doubt and recommend this restaurant very much!! I’ve already recommended a few of my friends to go!!

The service was amazing. Kevin our server was on point with everything and very friendly. I love what they have done with the alley way. I suggest to dress warm it did get chilly at the end of dinner.

Arthur Cote and the table staff were absolutely AMAZING! Table for 6 Birthday Celebration was spectacular and our experience was 5 Stars! Forbes Standards.

We had a 7:30pm Open Table Reservation. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived at 7:25 pm. We left around 7:45 with no one helping us or having anyone around to check in on our reservation.

Food and service very good. For having to seT outside, they have done an exceptional job. Tables spaced nicely and very nice atmosphere for eating in a space between two buildings. Very creative alleyways.

Special offering was halibut; superb dinner.. cooked perfectly. Where there on Monday, free corkage night. Win win all around.

During Covid, they did a great job of the set up and the food as always was amazing.

We arrived on time and were seated right away. It was for dinner and outside dining. The alley behind the restaurant was decorated nicely. It was fairly crowded. I had the rack of lamb and my wife had the filet of sole. My brother had the rack of lamb to and his fiancee had the halibut. All the food was amazing. I was there because my brother was going to get married the next day. I put that in my request but I guess the restaurant never read it.

A side note. I noticed the manager or owner going to each table and greeting them. For some reason our table was the only one that she did not stop and talk to. I thought is weird and kind of odd. My wife noticed it to. She had ample opportunity to stop by. We felt neglected.

Oh well we would go there again.

La Gare is one of our favorite restaurants in Sonoma County. The staff there is always nice and professional which makes you feel like family. The special for the night, Halibut with rock shrimp in a white wine reduction, was amazing. Also can’t go wrong with the Beef Wellington. Always a great night when you go to La Gare.

This was our second visit in about six years. It was even more wonderful this time, as we sat outdoors (due to the pandemic) and celebrated our wedding anniversary. Outside made it much more like being at a Paris Bistro. The hostess/owner, Jackie, and server, David, were excellent both and treated us like long lost family.

La Gare offers really good French cooking with many traditional dishes on the menu.
The wine list is one of the best in our area with selections priced very reasonably.
As far as I know they are the only place serving sweetbreads in Santa Rosa. Sauces are superb and the deserts a delight. The dining area is set up in the Rue La Gare with canvas sails and lights, very romantic.

Friendly staff, swift service, and great food. We will be back next time we are back in town.

Very romantic, reminds us of being in Europe. Our waiter JD and our hostess/owner Jackie made us feel like family. The couple near us, he got up from the table, kneeled down and asked his girlfriend for her hand in marriage. And the food was excellent!!!

My wife and I went La Gare for our wedding anniversary. We had a perfect time! The waiter Eric and the rest of the wait staff were simultaneously attentive and unobtrusive. Ina word - Superb.
The food was perfect. We have dined in Paris often and the food, service, and ambience were reminiscent of those delightful evening.

Outdoor space was charming but our table for 6 was two tables put together that were not the same height. Plus after a long wait for our reserved time, they seated us near the kitchen entrance. Food was average but service was excellent. May or may not return. Underwhelming for the price.

Outside dining only due to Covid restrictions Allyway next to the restaurant is beautifully decorated and lighted, creating a Paris cafe feel. Food is excellent as always and the waitstaff are friendly and efficient. Overall, an excellent experience.

A wonderful place to dine with friends and be socially distancing from others. I will say that the four of us were swept away to other places and times, and felt so relaxed. The food was delicious and the service perfect. The right amount of time between courses to talk and visit and it was just a perfect evening.

I surprised my man with reservations for his birthday. It had been 15 years since I was last at La Gare but, the food was more amazing than I had remembered. We started with shrimp cocktail and crab cake both were fantastic, I had the Halibut which was amazing and he had the lamb which our server Linda said was “The Best” and she was not wrong. The wine selection made for perfect paring with appetizers and entree. Thank you Linda and the rest of the staff for making this a perfect birthday dinner!

David, our waiter, was Excellent. From wine recommendations to food discussion, he was attentive and helpful. Highly recommend!

The beef Wellington was fantastic. The rack of lamb so good. Save room for the dessert either the meringue pavlova or the chocolate dome cake.
