    Six of us had dinner here on a Tuesday night. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated promptly. From start to finish it was a very nice experience. The waiter was very good, attentive but not obtrusive. The food was well prepared and well presented. La Gare deserves its reputation as one of the of Sonoma County’s “go to” restaurants.

    I had one of the daily specials, fresh Alaska halibut, which was excellent and reasonably priced. My wife ordered from the menu and her meal was also excellent. The wait staff at La Gare is outstanding. We had been there only once before about nine months prior to this visit and our waiter remembered us.

    We had dinner for the first time at La Gare this week, and had a great time.  The food was delicious. The wine was perfect with our food and reasonably priced. Our server was a lot of fun and took good care of us. We even met the chef! I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

    Great food at very reasonable prices. Service was exceptional. We have been coming for many years, and this time we chose La Gare for our wedding anniversary dinner.

    This is a very cute and inviting restaurant. Love the old brick and interesting seating. I made the reservation for my 60th birthday and I was seated immediately. I ordered the lamb chops which came with potato leek soup, a butter lettuce salad, crispy potatoes and mixed vegetables. The crunchy roll was really tasty, as well. Everything was prepared well and enjoyable. I finished with the creme rules, which is my favorite. They put in 2 candles and a happy birthday card. Too cute.

    Food was very salty. Veal cordon bleu was not prepared as a French dish. It was over cooked and served in a brown sauce. Will not eat there again. Too many other good choices in Santa Rosa.

    A lovely place and one of the best values in California. Example is a 3 course meal (soup, salad, and duck l'orange for $42.00. The food is good, but not terrific. Certainly can be consumed. Our server was terrific. No full bar, but a decent wine list. If you only care about average food, this is the place for you. If you want gourmet, probably not. But we will say we have been before when the food was better. Maybe an off night.
