Experience the culinary richness of Peru at La Costanera, a modern Peruvian fusion restaurant. La Costanera opened its doors October 2, 2009, now residing on the scenic California coast in Half Moon Bay, overlooking Pillar Point Harbor. Just a short and beautiful drive from San Francisco. The space is grand, with 180 degree windows, two stories, and a large outdoor terrace with fire pits and heaters.

We had the cebiche sampler ( very good ) with the Yucca chips, also very good. Than the Pescado a lo Macho, a kind of seafood stew, very good. 2 Cocktails. 2 cocktails, no dessert. Bill was $ 165. Ouch. The food was great, also the ambience with great views of the harbor. Unfortunately, service was not up to par. Slow ( took the 15 minutes to clear the table between courses). Had to ask 3 times for water. Trying to pay took 10 minutes. And the restaurant was not super busy ...

An extra special touch for our anniversary. Lovely restaurant and the food was delicious. Our friends who joined us live in Los Altos and visit HMB on occasion but had never been here. They loved it. We are all world travelers and we were all impressed. Thank you for our card!

Great food. The free birthday dessert was excellent - and we ordered a second one to share as well ;) I requested a quiet table and got one, even after a somewhat large party was seated near us. Our waiter was very friendly and energetic.

Pre-Covid, I had been to this place 3x and loved it for its exceptional view, food and drinks. The place used to be always packed and service was quick. Since Covid this restaurant has moved to a location with almost no view. The new place is done up very tastefully. The staff is sweet & welcoming but their service is exceptionally slow. At first our server took 20 + minutes to arrive and apologized. And then when we ordered lemonade and Diet Coke it took good 30 minutes to come. The food was good however the long wait made this place almost not worth the visit. If you have ample time and are not in any rush and wish to enjoy a lazy day then this place is a good one time experience. I won’t be returning here again.

Dined in for lunch. Great service, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Started with the wontons which were really good, crispy with soft filling and a slightly spicy accompaniment sauce. Mains of tuna and seafood stew were both very flavorful and fresh. Nice range of beet and cocktails.

Absolutely incredible experience. I come every year for my birthday usually just me and my partner but this year we brought close friends and has the best service, food and cocktails. The staff did a wonderful job with bringing out the birthday cake and everyone was so kind. We can’t wait to come back again.
