    My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at La Costanera this week. The meal and service were amazing. My sword fish and vegetables were prepared to perfection. My wife loved her salad and salmon. The meal was topped off with chocolate carletoes and complimentary champagne. We will be back.

    Everything about La Costanera is amazing. The view, ambience and amazing staff. My husband and I went for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We were greeted at the table with a card from the staff and bubbly. Our server Daniel walked us through the menus and gave us his recommendations and why he chose them. We will definitely be coming back here in the future.

    We had our 1 year anniversary here and it was spectacular! The food, service and ambiance 10/10! This the the best meal I’ve had in I don’t know how long, and large portions. This might have to be our spot for special occasions.

    We used to love La Costanera, but the food has not been that good the past two visits. Last night, our 25th wedding anniversary was a disappointment. The staff was nice, but not a fun experience.

    We had 2 types of paella, adobo, and a chicken stuffed avocado - all very delicious, and beautifully presented. We started with 3 ceviche appetizer - delicious. Our waitress was cheerful, informative, and very attentive throughout our stay. Lovely view of Half Moon Bay Harbor.

    Great spot with good ambiance. Our server was friendly and checked in on us perfectly. My only gripe is we ordered too much food and couldn’t finish it all! Highly recommend the pisco sours and the ceviche sampler!

    My husband and I agreed, the ambiance is good, the service was good, and the food was good. But, our expectations outweighed our experience as the food was not great or exceptional as we expected. We don't mind paying a bit more for exceptional, but in this case we felt it was overpriced. We had the beef empanada for an appetizer. The online menu says it's $14 but it was $16. It was very good but we thought quite expensive for the 1 small empanada. We also had the Ceviche Nikkei which was $27. Our server asked if we would like "chips" with it and we agreed to the suggestion. We were a bit suprised when we were charged $6.00 for "chips". We never like when this happens. My husband had the Lamb which was very good. I had the Swordfish which was the fish of the day. It was good, but not the best I've had. We finished with the Chocolate Carlitos, (flourless chocolate cake), it was good, but again, not the best we've had. All in all, the experience was less than we expected.

    We love this restaurant and are local residents. It is a bit pricey to eat there regularly, but we love to take out of town guests or go for celebrations like birthdays . It is always a great experience and I can't recommend it en9ugh!

    Best dinner I've had in awhile....sea food fishermans stew kinda dish made with sword fish and clams, shrimp, calamari, etc...broth was unbelievable good...coconut rice was a huge surprise - so good....can't wait to go back! Steve & Marty

    The food was phenomenal! Cooked to perfection, great flavors and presentation. We had the arroz chaufa for the first time and it was so delicious! Our sister-in-law said the panna cotta was the creamiest she’s ever had (and she spent a month in Italy!) We are locals and whenever we want to impress our guests we always bring them to Costanera!

    Good but you’re paying a lot for the ambiance. Amazing langostinos (crusted shrimp) and coquettes (fried yucca balls). Skip the squid ink paella which was like a black stew

    We had a wonderful dining experience at this beautiful restaurant. Everything from the empanadas, to the Cebiche Tasting, Macho, and Arroz con Mariscos was simply superb. We finished our meal off with delicious churros. We definitely will be coming back and I highly recommend this place. Props to our server, Melvin U, who took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed and all our questions answered.

    Our best meal visiting California! Highly recommend the seafood: ceviches, salmon, swordfish, but the steak was also amazingly seasoned and tender. Also loved the Elotes and corn / veggie side (with salmon). We enjoyed fast, careful service in a beautiful setting.

    The service was horrendously slow. I had to flag a manager twice. We were there for 2.5 hours and didn't order dessert. It's quite understaffed and it's fortunate that I spoke Spanish as our server did not speak English.

    Always a great experience here. Chips are addictive and empanadas an excellent starter. Our specials were a stuffed squid “relleno” with beef, raisins potato, carrot in an aji sauce, and an excellent sole in Peruvian meunière style. Have the caramel de leche dessert!

    Very disappointed. We booked on Open Table and we’re told that there would be a charge of $25 if we cancelled. Ok, so we decided to book and go for it thinking this place must be something special. We booked a place on the patio for 7:30 but when we got there were told that it would be a long wait. So why book and specify an area in the first place? Perhaps we should have asked the restaurant to pay us $25 for not having seating available in the area we booked. The waitress was disingenuous. She asked us if we wanted sparking or still water. We said still and she brought us bottles that cost $10 each. Noticed that others were drinking tap which would have been just fine for us but we weren’t offered tap. I ordered a beer. And had to ask three times for it. Wine prices are ridiculous, $17 for a glass?!?!? They had special Peruvian liquor also ONLY $19 for a shot. The food was average at best. I didn’t feel that my seafood dish was freshly made. Probably was a microwave special. Portions are small. Prices are high. When the check came the disingenuous waitress didn’t bother to tell me that a 20% gratuity was added automatically. We were a party of six. Luckily my wife caught it. This was a very special family occasion and we tried to make the best of it. But no way will we go back and no way would we recommend this to anyone else. You’ll be disappointed and you’ll feel ripped off when you leave.

    I celebrated my birthday with my family. The food was outstanding. The service was attentive and the ambience welcoming. They offer a menu with dietary restriction options. The mushroom saltado was delicious! Desert was decadent as well.
