The food was outstanding and our server was the nicest. Super attentive and knew her wines. We had a great time.
We enjoyed another wonderful meal at La Costanera. The food and service were first rate. It's a privilege to have such a wonderful restaurant so close to our home. The menu is varied with many Peruvian specialties. We would give it our highest recommendation.
We are the regular customers.
The food and services were definitely out of touch this time. We probably will not return for a while.
Top quality food and very good service!
Service was good but tables are in top of each other your only about six inches away from other people they need more options on menu
We had New Years Eve dinner at La Coastanera for the second year in a row. The food was phenomenal! In addition to being delicious, it was also a form of art. We started with the Crema de Zapallo - creamy kabocha sqush soup, shrimp and Peruvian corn - super yummy! I had the Salmon Bandido - grilled wild caught salmon, mashed purple potatoes and Peruvian escabeche. Probably the best salmon dish I have ever had. My husband had the New Years Eve special - Lobster Paella, Peruvian style. It was equally delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food was delicious but small portions
A tasty and early new year's eve dinner. Watching the final sunset of 2018 with delicious tapas, pisco cocktails, and warming main courses was just the ticket to the start of a new year. Beef heart, scallops, and tequenos cheese appetizers were particularly good. Enjoy the pisco punch the best of the pisco drinks we tasted. Nice wine list, including our favorite, Trilogy by Flora Springs.
Our beautiful NY Eve Sunset table was just perfect. Loved the cocktails, and our waitress was terrific. The salad was one of the best ever- such a great mix of fruits and veggies, and the passion fruit vinaigrette was delicious. Loved the scallops, calamari, tacoqueños and rocoto main dish. My only complaint was that the veggies surrounding the rocoto fish were raw. I’m used to a warm fish with a yummy, rich sauce being served with cooked veggies. The raw Brussels sprouts were really bitter and inedible. The raw carrot and mushroom were just incongruous with the rest of the hot entree. A light sauté on those veggies would have made all the difference, as they would have tasted great with the sauce
We ordered Lomo saltado and Chicken paella. They were both suberb but the Lomo is the best we have ever had at any Peruvian restaurant
The place for foodies to go
Pretty good, just a pretty pricy for a regular date out!!
The setting is beautiful... but the experience was ruined when I looked at my credit card statement. I had put the $100 bill on my card since I was treating my friend. She asked to take care of the tip and put down $25 cash. When I saw the statement, someone on the staff had written in a tip for me and it was $130 total! After enjoying the beautiful spot and seeing my friend's generous tip, it was a huge slap in the face. I'm taking care of it through my credit card company but thought I should warn others. If you tip in cash, do not leave the tip line blank!
Excellent experience! Delicious food and awesome service.
Excellent service , clean and amazing food with a beautiful view.
Authentic Peruvian restaurant, with a great view and menu. The service felt a bit rushed for a Wednesday night, but we still enjoyed ourselves. The pulpo a la parrilla, crema de zapallo, pollo saltado were well done. The churrasco was also nicely done, but overpriced. The pescado a lo macho was good. The suspiro a la limeña was tasty, but feel short of authentic for the two Peruvians in our party. Overall, fun dining experience with a well rounded and authentic Peruvian menu.
We love this restaurant! The food is so delicious and well-prepared. The flavors are superb, never overpowering or too salty/creamy. Highly recommend the scallops and lomo saltado. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our friends were so impressed, they may reach out to the restaurant for their wedding! The rustic/nautical decor is fun, cozy, and comfortable.
we have been to the restaurant several times and the food and service is amazing but frankly I dont think we will be back. You are eating in a restaurant with a wonderful view yet the inside noise level is horrible. They have to figure a way to soften the noise levels
I wish they would lower the lighting. The ambiance is too stark.
Everything is great. Nice wine list. Best to reserve 30 minutes before sunset for the stunning views.
I’ve been wanting to experience La Costanera for years. The wait was so worth it. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Our server Alex was spot on friendly while also giving us space. The ambiance was extraordinary! It was dark so we couldn’t see the ocean yet the interior of the restaurant was marvelous. I had the sea bass and my friend had the short ribs. Both were excellent. I’m excited to come back again and again. Thank you!! Gracias por una cena estupenda.
Great New Experience of Peruvian food. Alex was very enthusiastic waiter..
Typical coastside restaurant - the food's not bad, but it's seriously overpriced and the service stinks.
The food tastes amazing amd delicious up to the last bite. Service was fast and efficient and the staff are very friendly and courteous. Love it!! Would love to come bacK again.
Food was outstanding. It’s a bit on the pricey side but excellent quality and presentation. There were not very many people in the restaurant when we went. If the restaurant was full because of all the hard surfaces I would expect the noise level would be fairly high.
Definitely worth the drive and price.
Can’t go wrong with anything here!
Edgar is a great server. Very attentive!
Very creative dishes. Lots of small plates to explore different tastes.
Great food, parking is always a problem, having to park across the street and cross Highway 1 is dangerous!
Fantastic food, great service, we will be back!
Service was terrible. Couldn’t get anyone’s attention when they served us the wrong order, then preceded to charge us for the soup after the mishap and missing our wrong order and being unavailable to us. They were over staffed, as it was a Friday night, and we couldn’t get a single person’s attention. The scallops were admittedly cooked properly, but considering the three dishes (shrimp), (squash soup), and (scallops) were bland and mediocre, it didn’t help much. The sauce in the shrimp was incredibly watered-down, the soup was bland and blech with stale nuts in it and there seemed to be no difference in the ingredients in any of the three dishes. It was like they poured the bland soup over the shrimp and scallops. What a shame. I’ll stick to the Peruvian restaurants scattered throughout LA that are much more affordable and much more appealing. The dishes were tiny, three shrimp for $22? And they weren’t even good? What a bummer.
Date night dinner, it was great as usual. My girl had the Lamb shank and it never disappoints. I had the Pork shoulder Adobo, meat is so tender w/ scalloped potatoes Yum! I washed the meal down with a couple of Sangrias, can’t wait to do it again!
Waitress was rude
Disappointed in the quality of food. We ordered a lamb stew dish, chicken skewers, and sweet potatoes fries. Every dish was served cold and the taste was mediocre. Nothing unusual for the high price we paid. I do not recommend this place.
Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but don’t let it fool you. The experience begins as you walk through the front doors. Excellent service throughout. Perfect place for a date.
This place has delicious food and drinks, and our server, Janna, was fantastic! The view is superb. Our only complaint, as usual, is that this restaurant is so LOUD. If they would just carpet the place, it would cut way down on the noise, and I would then give it five stars.
Our server Lucas A. was awesome! He understands dietary restrictions VERY well. My daughter who's highly allergic to dairy/lactose, Lucas was able to recommend dishes that didn't have any type of milk product in it and gave my daughter a specialized/itemized menu, where each item my daughter wanted was listed under a vegetarian, vegan, or other category, making it easy for her to select menus items with confidence and not having to have her server run over to the chefs/cooks to ask what's in each item :/. Great food and a great time!
Thank you again! I've always liked going to La Costanera and will always go back. :)
Absolutely stunning location! But be careful about the parking lot, we as well as many cars bottomed out at the transition to the dirt lot. I think some incurred significant damage!!!
After the distraught of thinking you ruined your car, you forget your worries with a gorgeous view, fantastic cocktails, and great food!
I will be back - but will be parking elsewhere!!
Beautiful view, nice staff and delicious food. Excellent experience:-)
