A beautiful place, as usual, and the food was perfectly prepared and served. We were there for both dinner and brunch the next day, as we stayed on the property in The Cottage. Sea bass was perfect with its accompaniments; the waygu beef was tasty (although the filet mignon at brunch was even better). Wait staff could not have been better.
We went to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was also our first time. We had an amazing experience. Our server Shaun was awesome! The food was memorable! Our experience was even better. We will definitely be coming back!
It’s aight but like it ain’t it like that I’d prolly go again doe
We have been several times and are always pleased!
We will definitely be back.
We’ve eaten at many upscale restaurants throughout the Salt Lake City area (including surrounding cities). This is by far one of our favorites. We’ve dined here twice now and both times were phenomenal. Just the taste and flavor of the food alone is second to none. We can’t wait to go back.
I don't typically pay more than $40 when dining out, and this was the one exception that turned out to be fantastic! Our waiter, Grayson, was very cordial and helpful; he made our experience quite stress-free. The food was quite delightful and I have never had a more scrumptious meal. The charcuterie board was simple, yet elegant and tasty. Before I make myself sound overly-dramatic, I will just say that I will definitely go there again - but only after I save up more money. ;)
“Fine” for vegetarians. Not horrible, but not great. Wine is made in Utah and is also decent. We just don’t have the climate for great wine. The location is gorgeous though. That’s the best part about this place. Also, the mushroom appetizer was incredible. I’ve never had mushrooms like that. I would suggest going on a warm day, sitting outside and enjoy some small plates and drinks.
La Caille is a must visit in warmer weather; the grounds in winter are still beautiful but harder to navigate. Make time for course style, slow cadence service over a couple of hours. The food menu is small, food is very good, fairly extensive wine list with some local, decent wines. The team of servers does a good job as a team though there is probably a bit of a lag time between courses and drinks are slow to come. Overall, very good and we will visit again though selectively given the likelihood of 250+ for a well rounded dining experience.
Everything was amazing (Peruvian chocolate mousse is a must have) and the best customer service I've ever had in the food industry (shout-out to Josh 😄).
Great service. The staff had great command of the menu and dishes were described with great detail. The kitchen was extremely accommodating to a dairy allergy. Craft cocktails were delicious and the Pinot Noir was out of this world!!!
Now I know why this is called the "best restaurant in Utah"! It would be an absolute mistake to not chose this as THE place to dine. Josh, our server was great and was very hospitable. He knew what he was talking about and made sure that our experience was everything we could ask for and more. The staff is phenomenal and really made this experience more than just a meal at any old restaurant. La Caille staff really go above and beyond both in terms of service, food preparation, and hospitality. It was an added plus that they had a great, scenic property, organic foods fresh from the garden, and multitudes of dishes made from local ingredients. SUPER AUTHENTIC, PHENOMENAL DINING! Nothing could top this!
Our experience here was a amazing! Definitely the best restaurant I have ever been to. My girlfriend had an allergic reaction to something in the food and the waiter got us our check and car quick so we could leave.
Should have been wowed for $400. Chilean sea bass was undercooked. Food so so. Bread, hard as a rock.
It was my first experience at la Caille it was highly recommended by a family member and I was NOT disappointed from the entrance til the final drive home it was Amazing I’m so glad I have these first memories of what one day will be my wife
This restaurant starts from begining to end with everything. The only additional fee was add ons and drinks. Oh, and tip of course! For the valentines day special this was good. Had valet included and the grounds were beautiful as well as inside. Sitting next to a date was amazing side by side with a round table next to a fireplace. Every table has something beautiful near it. The food is the best most creative flavor and look I've had or seen in Salt Lake City, Utah. And maybe anywhere else for that matter.
The food was marginal at best. Very little of it and the price was ridiculous
The restaurant was very nice, the food was good, and our waitress was nice, but we were forgotten in the corner and I had to ask a different waiter from another table for some water a few times. We were there for over 2 hours and we noticed that other couples that got their after us got their food before us. The couple next to us arrived 45 minutes after us and got all their food before before us. We understood it was busy, but we felt forgotten in the back. We even had the wrong food brought to us a few times and it was for another table.
All I can say is, WOW. This was my first time dining here, and it was an incredible experience! I wanted to take my girlfriend somewhere special for Valentine's Day, and La Caille did not disappoint! The atmosphere was breathtaking, and the food was top of its class! The staff was very kind and treated us like we were special guests over for dinner, but they didn't crowd us and gave us plenty of space and privacy throughout our dinner. La Caille really helped to make our date so much more than that, it was an experience we will not forget!
Very overpriced. The bar renovations did not make me feel I was in a special unique place. I felt like a sardine. Staff was excellent. Dinner costing normally around 200.00-300.00 was 565.00? During dinner we were informed they were out of bread. For $150.00 per person without drinks or tip? Not acceptable. The overall experience left me feeling taken advantage of. I thought LaCallie worth the price . I was sadly mistaken. It will be a very long time before I return or recommend to anyone else.
Waitress spilled a full pitcher of water on the table, made no attempt to move us to another table.
Soup was served us cold when it was a hot soup.
Steaks were not cooked as ordered.
Expected much better service and should not have to send food back at $150/plate
The food , and service was great. The only problem was that the wine didn’t come until after our salad came. The manager(I believe he was the manager), came to around to ask how everything was,and we told him about the wine. I thought he would have comped the wine, but did nothing when the bill came. But, it is still a beautiful place, with great food
Impeccable local food and service. Beverage choices were a bit restricted. No Jamaican or Mexican coffee available since menu had changed but otherwise a very satisfying dining experience
I experienced a delightful variety of textures and flavors. Most were delicious and interesting and a few were new.
I ordered the duck breast which was done very nicely, but I am not used to duck medium rare. I tried it anyway and it was OK but I would have preferred well done.
Our waitress Meg was knowledgeable, friendly and put us completely at ease. I wrote her a limerick just for fun and we laughed together.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Unfortunately, only the very wealthy can justify the cost. We took our daughter there to celebrate a recent accomplishment, the cost for 3 of us, with tips and tax, was $400. That is huge for us, and we will not be able to dine there again. It was a Saturday night and hardly anybody was there.
Delicious food and beautiful ambiance! An authentic-looking French chateau with a carefully crafted menu. We left incredibly full and satisfied, with leftovers that our attentive waiter carefully packaged for us. Definitely a perfect place for a special occasion!
My daughter treated me to a wonderful dinner at La Caille. The food and service matched the spectacular venue. The escargot had a rich balance of flavor, the Bruleed Shepard’s Chèvre in roasted beets were a rich delicious complement. My entree was a perfect medium rare seasoned filet mignon. My daughter ordered the grilled rack of lamb which matched in flavor and tenderness. All surpassed my anticipation for a great dinner. Our server was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the offerings. Overall a wonderful a experience, highly recommend!
Excellent overall! Great service, excellent food, surprising cocktails.
Beautiful atmosphere & delicious food. Service was impeccable & would definitely recommend to any of my friends or family. I can’t wait to be able to visit again
This was our first visit and I guarantee it will not be our last! The restaurant was really nice and the staff were optimistically friendly! We will return soon!
It was our first time at La Caille and our waitress, Meg, made our fifth-year anniversary special. Meg made us feel so special and well taken care of throughout the entire night. She was so good at describing each dinner item and made sure that what we selected would be something we would enjoy. Everything from the bread and cheese, raspberry sorbet, and the main dish lived up to Meg's descriptions. The portions were great and we left the restaurant very full and satisfied. When it came to dessert time, Meg made our night truly special by setting a plate that had "Congratulations" written in chocolate along with chocolate mousse and macarons. After dinner, my wife and I enjoyed walking through La Caille and admiring all the artwork and photographs through the building. The architecture and atmosphere of La Caille made us feel like we were back in Paris. We are already making plans to return to La Caille and we will make sure to ask for Meg as our waitress.
It was one of the nicest restaurants we’ve ever been to.
Beautiful inside and out. Fantastic service and the food was phenomenal.
Not as intimate a setting for a romantic restaurant. It was nice to walk the grounds but the food definitely felt overpriced. It should indicate $$$$ on Opentable. The inside is in need of an overhaul.
It wonderful restaurant Hidden away in Sandy Utah. Sending food at same service and outstanding Ambience
Great special occasion restaurant, especially around Christmas. Very expensive, food is good, but not as good as Log Haven and other restaurants in the area. Plan to spend $100+ pp.
The food for New Year's eve was not worth $150 per person. You would think that a better selection for this special evening would be more appealing. The bass was very fishy and did not taste fresh. The stake at medium rare was tough as cardboard and equally tasteless. I realize that this is a French/Belgian menu of items but at the end of the day it is also supposed to be filling not just presented like supposed works of art. I think my youngest grandchild would have left hungry. Really missed the mark by a large margin. The menu and taste of the food would be beaten by most other higher end restaurants such as Ruth Chris, Flemings', Bambara, etc. Compared to itself from past years this is a big step down. Tell your chef its not all about presentation-which is a part-it's also behind serving a delicious meal.
The celebration afterward, which was supposed to be a dance, was also a big disappointment. The room was small and the music was not suited for the clientele you try to attract-at least not us. Doubt that many teenagers attended the evening with you. Punk and other hip-hop music will never be replaced by a good quintet or similar offering.
If your aim is to attract the 20 somethings it would have worked but for those who spend $150 per plate this is an almost failure . If it wasn't for my beautiful date on her birthday it would have been a worse than a failure. I give you an F.
Please stop and re-evaluate who you are trying to be and who you are trying to attract. The beautiful setting demands a better finish to the night!
The food was very subpar...we have been going here for over 40 years and the food has fluctuated from good to bad during that time. The New York Strip steak was suppose to be Kobe Beef and it was far from it, I would bet that it was at best a bad strip steak. It was tough with no flavor, the sides were basic. The Appetizers were good, small portions but good. The dessert was very common and not what I would expect on New Years Eve. The servers were very good, the room they put us in was on the 3rd floor and very hot, multiple people complained and moved tables. They know the room is hot but they still sit people in this area. Overall not a good experience and not worth the money.
Service was horrible. Food took forever to come out, not the chef’s fault but I’m pretty sure it was under the heat lamp for a while. Server came by to check on us once during the meal and they forgot to bring my drink and I had to remind them several times. They said they were “busy,” and I’m a waitress I know busy. I don’t believe the servers has sections as they were all over the place in the restaurant which caused disorganization and confusion.
Although the service is great, the cost to value is so-so.
Wonderful service from start to finish. We had particular dietary needs, one GF free and one no Shellfish. The chef prepared a fresh GF bread for the one individual. Then when the chef sent out the Amuse-bouches for our table, he made certain one was shellfish free. We were a party of four and each of us ordered different entrees. Each of us thought our dish was awesome. Ambiance of the restaurant is lovely. They are very pricey, particularly in the wine selections. However, we expect to make this an annual tradition.
