Our second visit in about 9 months. Jason our server, as well as everyone else, was amazing. The food was delicious as usual and the ambiance just beautiful. We love the vibe here as dinner is definitely a special occasion but there isn’t a pretentious attitude. We will be back!
Most amazing brunch I've ever had! A MUST try place if you're in the area.
What an incredible ambience and experience! Very special.
Amazing place! Definitely recommend ! For dates , for family or just to enjoy very good food quality!
We started with the escargot, had the lobster bisque and French onion soup, and for the main course we had the filet mignon and duck risotto. All of it was SO AMAZING! We had a carafe of their house rose. It went well if everything we had.
Excellent food and atmosphere. It was fairly pricey for dinner and drinks, but the food was excellent and I left feeling great about the whole experience!
Brussel sprouts were undercooked and the waiter talked a little too much to where I didn’t get a chance to voice any disappointments. Other than that the rack of lamb was the best I’ve ever had.
Everything except the value was good. However, $60 for three tiny lollipop lamb chops and a few miniature zucchini was almost infuriating. The salad was also super small. I left hungry.
A fun date night. The decor and style could be updated a bit, but it was classy and great food. A little bit over-priced, but really delicious!
This is a beautiful spot and the service is unparalleled in SLC, which is why we go once per year on a special occasion. The food isn't that good, especially considering how high-end the rest of the experience is. That is why we only go once per year.
Always just a little disappointed in the quality of food. Most steak houses have much better steak. Chairs in dining area have always been extremely uncomfortable. The setting and ambience is amazing but they need to step it up on their quality of food.
The service was attentive, but not intrusive and the food was very good.
Superb place for a special occasion. Had not been there in 20+ years, but it was better than I remembered.
We came to La Caille to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were actually married here in 1989. We hadn’t eaten here in over four years, and our last experience at La Caille left something to be desired in terms of the quality and taste of our meals. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, it was obvious this would be an entirely different dining experience. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and promptly taken to our table, overlooking the beautiful grounds. The service was impeccable. The wait staff worked like a well oiled machine and Jason, our tremendous server, paced our dinner perfectly. We started off with the beet salad (which I heartily recommend), then I had the halibut and my wife had the filet mignon. Both were cooked to perfection. This was not an inexpensive evening, but well worth the price paid in terms of ambiance, service and food.
Reason for only 4 stars for the Service:
we had to ask the waiters to bring a spoon for for my oatmeal
we had to ask the waiters to bring a spoon for the tea & sweetener
we had to ask the waiters to bring the steak sauce we had ordered for the steak
The service was amazing. The food was impeccable. The whole experience was a five star experience.
It has been a long time since I came to La Calle. My daughter turned 18 and wanted to go there. She loves everything French. I know the food is expensive, but I am willing to pay it, if the food is worth it. Not to sound too much like a red neck, but I would have been significantly happier at Texas Roadhouse. They have hot rolls, cinnamon butter and the food always tastes great, and I can eat for three for $60. The food at La Calle was way too expensive and not worth the cost.
First we had an appetizer, quail...it was a miniature chicken. It looked like it had been deep fried and and then cheap stuffing crammed in it. For 26 dollars, I could have deep fried a turkey at my house and fed 20 people:(
The salads and soups were mediocre at best. I was not very impressed and the salads were extremely bland. We then received our main course...luckily my daughter received the rack of lamb, it was good. The halibut I received was dry and not good. My wife received the chicken, but the pork that cam with it was overwhelming. I tried some of the chicken and it tasted like pork.
The place was nice and the service was great, my complaint is that the food was not what I would expect for a $300.00 bill. I do not believe I will be coming again.
My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here. It was an awesome experience. From the time we entered the grounds until we left everything and everyone was warm and hospitable. The dishes were superb!
Thank you for making our occasion even more memoriable.
This place makes my girl feel like a princess every time we go. This is the best place to go for a special occasion or just for a beautiful dinner. Amazing place.
We have always LOVED LaCaille, but moved and have not been for awhile. This last visit will be our last. We went with our son and wife that were married there two years ago. They paid over $50,000 for the venue.
My husband and son shared the bone in Ribeye $195. It was full of fat and not much flavor for the amount of time it had been curing. I had a bite, as the manager that cut it at our table was delightful and quite the 'salesman' however, I chewed and chewed, then had to spit out the fat, it was not good. It should have only cost about $60 for the amount of meat ratio to fat. They were not impressed. I had the halibut on peppers, halibut was ok but the peppers had no flavor at all. I had the citrus salad with it and it was all arugula with very little citrus, I had to dig down to the bottom and cut up the citrus teeny tiny slices to just get a little with each bit. Was $16 and should have cost $5 for basically arugula on the plate. The bread was homemade and good, but the unsalted butter that came out with black salt flakes on top totally overwhelmed the bread flavor, pretty much destroyed it. Our meal came to $482.... extremely overpriced, we left feeling quite unsettled that our meal was not good, and we paid so much.
Amazing food options! Great for special occasions. Beautiful and clean restaurant. It's a one of a kind place.
Absolutely amazing experience. Everyone involved was kind and courteous, and gave us a night to remember. The food was beautifully prepared, the scenery was gorgeous, and servers were friendly and knowledgeable. The Filet Mignon was absolutely melt in the mouth good, and the charcuterie board was indescribable, but everything we ate was almost too good.
Our waiter was too pushy and the valet was not friendly. Food was great.
Service was extremely slow.. there weren’t very many people there and yet we were always waiting around for our server
We got married at La Caille and just went back to celebrate our anniversary. The food is always fantastic, everything is so fresh and delicious. The wines are to die for.
Beautiful grounds and atmosphere, very good service and staff was happy to tell you about the food. Food was phenomenal, very expensive, but worth it for how fine it is. Not a place to bring babies or loud children.
Wonderful way to celebrate your anniversary. Food and service are both excellent!
Still the very best ambiance of any restaurant in SLC, but the food preparation has gone way downhill. The service was Outstanding
This is the second celebration we have enjoyed at this lovely restaurant. It is like stepping back in time. The food and the service is spectacular. The added ambiance of the peacocks walking around is a delight. We look forward to coming back when back in Salt Lake area.
We were enchanted with this castle-like place and enjoyed wandering the grounds after we were through. The only disappointment was the dessert. The Mille feuille was tough although the flavor was good. My husband remembered a light flaky experience when he lived in France. All the other dishes were exquisite.
We went for our anniversary and they really took care of us. Incredible service and food. We will definitely be going back!
First time to La Caille, exceeded all my expectations. All aspects of the experience were amazing from the peacock wandering through the tables, to professional staff, and perfect food.
Did the weekend brunch. It was fantastic. From the valet greeting to the end of brunch, everything was well done. Service was fantastic. The food was even better. A peacock strolled across the patio enjoying the sun and ambiance. It's a place to go to for a special occasion or a get away from the city. We are looking forward to returning.
We hadn’t been to La Caille since our rehearsal dinner 13 years ago and took our parents to a surprise brunch.
We had an amazing experience out on the patio. The grounds were beautiful, wait staff attentive, and food delectable! We are looking for more excuses to go back.
This is the best fine dining restaurant in the valley. We sat out on the patio by a very nice fountain and enjoyed a very nice meal. After the meal we walked around the beautiful grounds before leaving. All in all a great overall experience.
My husband and I went to brunch for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The food was very delicious, the service was great and the setting was beautiful. Thank you for making our anniversary a wonderful experience!
Anytime at La Caille whisks you out of reality and into a fairy-take french country retreat. After driving up the cobblestone lane, you leave your car to the valet and suspend your stress-filled life for the rest of your visit. You are encouraged to roam the grounds with the peacocks, have a drink by a bubbling mountain stream, or take photographs on a flower decked bridge over a stream. Once inside, waiters are as attentive as personal butlers in the quiet french manor inspired decor. There are multiple rooms to explore reached by secluded hallways and a winding stone staircase, perfect for capturing a memory. The food is delicious and ample. Well worth a needed evening getaway or special night out.
It is like you are having dinner in the French countryside. Food was fabulous. Service was spot on. Experience could not have been better.
Our dinner at La Caille to celebrate our new home was so magical. From the moment you arrive you are whisked into a fairytale. Make sure to come early so you can walk around the pond and garden and see the peacocks. The food was delightful and the staff was attentive, helpful and kind. After dinner they invited us to walk around and see the rest of the building and then when we walked to the door our car was already there waiting for us. I will always remember this night and our celebration there and I am grateful to the staff for making every moment so wonderful.
