We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Krill. Their self described Asian funk done tapas style was phenomenal. Our waitress Kristen shared that we really couldn’t go wrong ordering anything, as the food is just really good, and she was right. We tried the tuna ceviche, bao buns, shishito peppers, glass noodles with egg, chicken drums, skirt steak, cheesecake, and flan, and each one did not disappoint. There was sweet, there was savory, light, heavier, a little something to like for everyone. The drinks were top notch, as well.

Our server made this a delightfully memorable experience that, along with the meal, made this a great spot for dinner before the Bulls game! The crab salad is a must -try, but so was one of the specials - the chef’s Mother’s meatloaf - one word: Spam! It was delicious. Great vibe, great service, great food!

We ordered the teriyaki salmon and the flank steak. Both were full of flavor and definitely worth the price. Service was slow and our waitress was not very helpful, even after asking if it was our first time visiting. However we will certainly go back

Skirt steak was cold and undercooked (ordered med rare). It also didn't taste like much of anything except soy/hoisin sauce and a bit of sweetness despite the description hinting at several other flavors that should be present. Server kept calling it strip steak, maybe he was new. When I asked server for his opinion on several items, he just read the descriptions to me and didn't answer the question. I ordered a Lychee Limeade, it tasted like plain store bought lychee juice with no lime or anything. Probably should have had it taken off my bill, it was 9$ : / My date enjoyed the ceviche and finished it. I ordered bao buns which were OK, and a side of rice which was delicious but 6$, it was a decent serving size however. I'd like to come back and try another dish or two but it felt a bit overpriced for the value.

Some of the food is absolutely delicious —the sautéed bok choy for instance—whereas other dishes fell flat. We were unpleasantly surprised to find cilantro spread liberally across all our dishes, even though this wasn’t indicated on the menu. When we ordered one additional dish and specified NO cilantro, it came with—-cilantro. It’s hard to take seriously a restaurant that can’t manage to satisfy such a simple request. Fun place with a nice vibe but we just weren’t that impressed.

One of the best meals I’ve had. Service was great, food was to die for. The fried chicken with wasabi honey was unreal, miso potatoes should not be overlooked. Can’t wait to go back!

Creative, flavorful, interesting dishes. Best to share plates to get the full experience. Server was very helpful with making recommendations. Covered patio seating with fans kept us comfortable on a hot summer night. Will definitely return!

I had a great meal here before. Not sure if menu or chef changed. The crab salad was bland w/ only particles of crab. The pork belly bun was less flavorable than expected. On the other hand my donkey mile cocktail was outstanding.

We always want to like Krill more than we do since it is a cozy, warm space. But overall, we found the food under spiced and needing acid. On this visit, we had the cold crab salad, chive dumplings, grilled (burnt) shishito peppers, and whole sea bass, fried to a fare-the-well. I was craving crab and it sounded delicious, but didn't really have enough crab and got very watery by the time I finished it. It really needed salt or lemon or something since it was just too bland (and I like my crab simply prepared). The dumplings/fritata were cooked too long and were hard as rocks; they tasted ok, and thankfully the sauce was good. The shishitos were almost too cooked but at the same time limp. Although the sea bass was huge (and at $30+ a portion should have been!), it was really fried solid. Once you got through the breading, the fish was delicious but, again, needed lemon or some seasoning beyond the small dishes that accompanied it. The salsa had too much raw onion, which overpowered the pineapple. The dessert - a mango sticky rice combo with mango ice cream was tasty, although the circle of coconut flavored creme around it seemed unnecessary.

Delicious food with great ambience. We sat in the covered, outdoor dining space and even in July it was delightful with the fans. We have attentive service and the food and cocktails were all interesting. We shared chive pancakes (phenomenal), shrimp dumplings, the skirt steak dish, the Krill fried rice with shrimp and an egg, the Krill noodles , and the book choy side. We shared all dishes and everything was delightful.

This was our 5th visit to Krill. We took a break in the winter, when the menu changed, but the food is back on track, with outstanding vegetable items (bok choy, green papaya salad). We weren't fans of the skewer assortment, but the shrimp dumplings were so wonderful that we ordered them again instead of dessert. We ordered a string of small plates, and our waitress coursed it out very nicely (previous waiters brought the food all at once, even if we told them not to do that). As for the ambience, it was freezing and the music was way too loud for us. The food and service made up for it.

Krill is essentially Tapas but with Asian food. Everything was good, but the portions were relatively small. My drink was TINY for $14, so I would definitely not go there again for the cocktails. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, and finding a place with its own parking in Durham is pretty incredible. I'd go back, but probably just for a special occasion

The service was amazing and Krill is conveniently located, however, we did find that the food was very overpriced for the portion sizes, especially considering their menu essentially caters to sharing. There are other very similar restaurants that I would recommend before Krill.

Good food, slow service at a slow time, inside was overly air conditioned and outside wasn’t all that nice in terms of decor. Drinks were really good. Menu was creative. Some dishes are a bit on the bland side, like the tofu and mushrooms, while others were great! Def would go back again but could be better!

We had an amazing dining experience at Krill. We had a large party that they willingly accommodated and made a us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant and we definitely weren't. Everything was delicious and the staff is top notch!

Everything was delightful from start to finish. Our server guided us confidently through some fantastic choices, staged delivery so we weren’t inundated with all of the dishes we ordered all at once, and was really attentive to all our needs. The food was incredible - my favorite was the Tuna Ceviche w/ Rice Crisps, but it was truly hard to choose a fave as everything we were served was delicious!
