Knife Steakhouse - Plano
Steaks were the best part. Frites were fine, mushrooms were good, fried avocados were very bready and oily, like pancake batter around an avocado wedge. Tasted good but very rich. Good drinks. Service was great. Would consider going back.
It was a busy Saturday night, and this place was not very prepared for a crowd. We were seated 30 minutes late of our reservation time, then waited an hour for our main course after ordering. I ordered my steak medium rare...it came out well done. The short ribs were a hit with my wife. The wait staff was very friendly and repeatedly apologized for the wait times and my steak. They comped both my steak and the bottle of wine we ordered. If you're looking for a good steakhouse, I think I would check out other options before settling here...or perhaps come during an off-peak evening.
Food was basic. No flavor. Very unimpressive... some bread was brought to start, cold, dry, butter like it came out the freezer... And it just went down hill from there. Worst steak house I’ve been too
Great menu, although noted for steaks, Knife offered a lot more. Also has a good wine list, and the wine was at several price points. The food was excellent. The Filets were grilled to the requested level, and all the sides were wonderful. We really liked to beef tartare. Would recommend for business meetings and special occasions.
Kitchen was way behind in filling orders so what should be 1.5 hour meal turned into 3 hours. Coffee and tea was ordered but never delivered. Short staffed with the costs charged for the meal is a bit inexcusable
Excellent service, delicious food, phenomenal cocktails at the willow Bend location. We will be back soon
Knife is one of our favorite restaurants. We have been patiently waiting for the Plano location to re-open and were thrilled to see that it did! I can't say enough about the amazing service, the wonderful quality of the food (the meat temperature is always spot on) and the fantastic craft cocktail list! If you love great food and ambience, I suggest you try it out :)
Was an exceptional experience. Food and service was wonderful!
Great food, great service. We’ll definitely be back!!!
Amazing food, amazing service!
Had an absolutely excellent time at Knife in Plano. Not only was food delicious but the atmosphere was reminiscent of an old-time speakeasy and the service was amazing. Our server was wonderful but the host/bartender, Grant was super impressive. He visited tables, had drink recommendations and was able to answer any question we had. He made us feel welcome and that we'd like to come back soon. Steaks were cooked as ordered and charcuterie tray was a great starter: four types of meats, mustard, and bread made this a stand out. As sides the pommes puree was buttery and creamy while the roasted cauliflower and Brussel sprouts came in a huge bowl - we were unable to eat them as delicious as they were since there was so much. We will definitely be back. A++
Food is fantastic. The bacon sampler was fun and very good. Everyone at the table loved their steaks. Flavored and cooked perfectly. Pace of service could have been a little tighter but no real complaints. Would absolutely revisit and recommend.
Compliments to the chef!!!! Everything was so good. Enjoyed our anniversary dinner!!
Food was great. Owner came over and introduced himself and asked if he could do anything for us. Great experience.
Truly enjoyed the evening. Food was good. Ribeye was prepared perfectly. Appreciated the recommendation from the sommelier on the wine.
Food was excellent. Service was slow. While waiting at the bar for our table, we were pretty much ignored for a good 7 or 8 minutes before
one of the 2 bartenders acknowledged us. Then another significant wait for our drink orders. Just 2 of us. Also, a good 20 minute wait past our reservation time. Overall, a good experience and would definitely eat there again but not if pressed for time.
Absolute wonderful experience. Ambiance was amazing, waiter was incredible, and the food was out of this world. Will be coming back soon.
Food was good, understaffed for New Year’s Eve, made service slow.
We had a good meal, but everything seemed a bit off. It felt like we were a lost table for a bit - we received water, but no one came to greet us or take drink orders for quite some time. We never received bread service even though they had two baskets going around the restaurant. It may have just been an off evening, so we might try it again in the future. It’s hard to justify a return, though, when there are so many other great steak restaurants in the area with consistent service.
When I tell you that a meal single handedly made 2020 not the worst year ever, I am not exaggerating. From entrance to exit, every moment in this restaurant was incredible. From the amazing, immaculate service, to the year altering mouth watering food, this has been one the best places I have ever been to. Everyone should go to Knife at least once in their life.
Clean, safe, attentive, and of course , delicious. The staff is fantastic from host to management. We feel like we are at a family’s house for dinner. Food is excellent. We actually had a fish dish this time. Flaky and full of flavor.
This is the 3rd visit to Knife for my wife and I (2nd to the Plano location). The charcuterie board and pasta were above average, but my steak unfortunately was below average, which was surprising since the last 2 visits were very good. I will probably go back, but to the Dallas location.
My boyfriend and I came in to enjoy a Saturday date night, which never happens because we are both in the service industry. The restaurant was half full, given the current times we are in, and still got sat right by the door, which would normally not be an issue. However, it was very cold out that night and every time someone came and went a huge gust of cold air would come in. The server never went over the menu with us or asked if it was our first time. When we did ask a question, he went to find out the answer for us. When he finally came back to the table, he completely forgot what we had asked. The communication between FOH and BOH was clearly not a priority. We had two different people, 10 to 15 minutes apart, tell us they were out of something and asked if we wanted it replaced. Our sides came out cold. The server forgot to ring in one of our dishes. For the price, the food was subpar. When it came time for dessert, we didn't even want to see the options. Highly disappointed.
The service was amazing. Sadly we were not impressed with the flavor of the food. The mac and cheese tasted gritty. The steak was under seasoned. I normally don't leave reviews but I felt it would be a disservice to not inform others of my personal experience.
Delicious meal, great service, everything was top notch!
Service definitely needs work, as does the food. Great decor and ambiance. Save your money and go elsewhere.
The atmosphere was great (helps that COVID causes the crowd to be a little smaller and quieter), but overall it was not a bad place. The food wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped compared to some of their competitors, at least for the cost of it all. That said, their chocolate ganache with blood orange sorbet was the best thing we had!
Always amazing!
Ordered the 150 day aged steak, worth every penny. The service was outstanding, the owner even stopped by the table to see how everything was. Went for our Anniversary and got complimentary dessert, creme brûlée is to die for! The atmosphere was classy but unpretentiousness . Will definitely be back!
I always enjoy my meals at knife - whether to celebrate or just for date night! The restaurant had a bit of a makeover during Covid and the results are gorgeous. Can’t wait to be back again soon! George and the team are as excellent as ever.
Love this restaurant- it’s pricey when grown children order multiple sides and cocktails, but they do throw in some extra goodies. I hope this restaurant and many others can weather the storm of this strange (virus) time
5-star experience - amazing food, 1st class chef & serving team, and an intimate, comfortable atmosphere. A stellar dining experience with excellent service. Thank you for your attention to every detail!
Food was wonderful! Would have preferred warm bread but overall, it was great. Waiter seemed to have an attitude but what’s new. Love the meat choices!
The most over priced restaurant I’ve been to. The ribeye could have been cooked better on a Weber grill and the portions of the meal were very mediocre for the price. The flash and treats and tricks did not equate the ridiculous prices we paid. $120 for a chain restaurant steak and the rest of the meal wasn’t far behind. Will not recommend to anyone
Excellent food and service! Highly recommend! They were very accommodating.
Lunch was not great.
Supreme service and dining experience. Exemplary! Will definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
What a gem. First time we dined there. Food was amazing, service extraordinary. It is pricey, but the steak was so good as well as the sides.
The food was delicious and enjoyed the unique take on appetizers and dishes. Service was great!l and we will definitely be back!
It was quiet for lunch on a Saturday. The cocktails were different and fun. The filet was so tender you didn't need a knife, but still full of flavor. Bacon tasting was tasty but the avocado fries were even better. We will be back!
